Chapter 3
Which meant she didn't have to whisper when she was talking to herself like she was doing now. After a while, however, a faint smile appeared on her face, independently of herself, to which she did not pay attention at all. The more she looked at it, the more it seemed like there was something wrong with it. For a brief moment, she felt like there was something wrong with her eyes, because it seemed to her that the seedling was moving. No wonder she blinked once, blinked again, and it was still the same. Slowly she began to think that she was starting to feel tired and nervous, otherwise how could she explain it? She hadn't believed in fairies or other such creatures for a very long time. And yet, what was currently unfolding right before her eyes didn't seem like it was just a figment of her own imagination. Although on the other hand, now that she looked at it, she didn't care anymore, but after all, there wasn't a single gram of alcohol in what she ate, right? So what was really going on in front of her right now?
“I think it's really starting to go crazy now, or something,” Vivienne said after a while, unable to take it all in.
Because, as we know, the blonde had no other explanation for this at the moment. And the funniest thing about it all was that she was starting to feel sleepy and for some unknown reason!
“Now I guess there's something seriously wrong with me…,” Vivienne wasn't able to finish her statement because her eyelids closed and she drifted off to the world of dreams.
But before her eyelids completely drooped, it seemed to her that the branch suddenly, out of nowhere, began to transform into a small bonsai-type tree, but instead of leaves, it had tiny pink flowers and was loaded with them to the limit. Normally she would start screaming and all that, but now she didn't care at all. She fell asleep and lost consciousness of what was happening around her without her knowledge. For the first time in so long, she didn't feel as light as she did now. It was as if some heavy stone had fallen from her shoulders and she could finally be completely free, not caring about anyone at all. Much less nothing. The scent that spread soothed her nerves, body and mind. She had finally never felt as wonderful as she did now, but she slowly became aware of the smell. He was very familiar to her, but at the moment she couldn't pinpoint where she really knew him from. When she saw Vivienne, she was standing in a clearing in an unknown place.
“I finally found you, my dearest…,” she heard a soft voice that she couldn't place at the moment, no matter how hard she tried.
And the funniest thing about it all was the fact that she remembered the place where she was currently. It took her a while to realize that when she was little, she and her mother had visited the nearby Temple, but along the way, she got separated from it and, as it turned out, got lost, which was not to her advantage. Then she met a certain creature, which she never saw again. Thanks to her, she managed to get back to her mother, even though she promised her that she would come back to her. Unfortunately, as sometimes happens, she forgot about it to death and more than ten years passed. She felt very bad about this. She realized that this creature was probably waiting for her and waiting, and she had completely forgotten about it.
“How could I forget about him…,” Vivienne muttered, completely dejected.
Vivienne couldn't forgive herself for treating him this way in exchange for him saving her. But there was nothing she could do about it and she knew it. She just hoped he wouldn't be mad at her about it, but she could be sure from the tone of his words earlier that he wasn't mad at her. She was still standing in that strange clearing that was very familiar and yet alien to her. Vivienne had quite conflicted feelings about this place, but for some reason she wasn't too afraid.
In fact, she didn't know if it was a dream or reality. The last thing she remembered was looking at the tree her mother had given her. To tell the truth, she didn't dream of a mini bonsai because she didn't have much hands for plants. They usually dried up after a day or two, for some reason she didn't know. After a while she finally gave up and hasn't taken care of any houseplants since. And now she had to deal with the bonsai, which would probably wither after two days and she would cry again over its miserable end.
“I hope this isn't a dream and you really came back to me?,” Vivienne heard again the same nostalgic voice that gave her chills.
“Like, when did I leave and come back now after so many years?,” Vivienne asked after a while, trying to find out a little more, because her memories were still unclear to her.
So much so that she didn't even realize when she asked the question. She felt stupid for saying those words anyway, but she couldn't take them back. She could only hope that she hadn't offended him with them. She immediately decided to reach this big tree. That was the only thing that was most important to her now and that's what she decided to focus on. No matter how she looked around, she couldn't get enough of where she was. She didn't even notice that it was a dream and not reality. She was so enchanted by the scenery, which was understandable. And the closer she got to the tree, the bigger it seemed. Finally, when she stood right in front of him, she opened her mouth in surprise.
“How great...!!!,” Vivienne gasped, unable to keep the words to herself, before adding, “How beautiful!”
She couldn't stop looking at it, the colors were so vivid and beautiful that she couldn't take her eyes off them. So much so that she didn't even notice the pair of green eyes that were focused on her. Maybe because those eyes were perfectly hidden among the flowers. The wind picked up a bit and she had to fix her hair because she couldn't see for a while. Meanwhile, she heard a faint rustle coming from among the flowers and leaves. And when she was finally able to look at the cherry tree again, she saw a boy sitting on one of the branches.
A boy whose hair color was the same as the tree he was sitting on. On the side of his head were three cherry blossoms with leaves, as if he had tucked them behind his ear. He was dressed in a traditional Japanese costume from the old days. He looked like he was from a bygone era, as if he had been ripped from a painting. He looked at her with green, emerald-like eyes, their color was so vivid. And when he realized she was looking at him, a soft smile appeared on his face. Just the smell coming from the tree made Vivienne feel like she had drunk a few glasses of wine, and she hadn't drank any.
“I was already worried that you had forgotten about me…,” he said in a melodious tone of voice, unable to enjoy the sight of her.
And Vivienne was transfixed, standing as if her legs were rooted to the ground. Without realizing it, she opened her mouth wide in surprise. She was so shocked to see him. So much so that she completely ignored the fact that he probably shouldn't be sitting on a high tree branch. Although no one was surprised at all, because the boy looked as if he had practically outgrown her. Not to mention he acted like it was nothing. At that moment, the blue-eyed girl stopped realizing that it wasn't real. She couldn't take her eyes off him, he was so amazing. It was only after a few moments that she finally realized that she was looking at him with her mouth open. An insect could fall into it at any time. She also knew that he was waiting for her to respond to his words. Therefore he looked at Vivienne in complete silence, not uttering a single sound at the time.
