Chasing My Pregnant Wife (Rosalie and Theodore)

Chapter 766

Sydney made her way directly to Rosalie's hospital room. As she walked down the hall, her phone rang inside her purse.

She quickly pulled it out and checked the screen. Her expression darkened, and she answered immediately. "Theo, where have you been?"

"Mom, I'm okay. Stop trying to find me."

"Where are you? Do you know how scared I was when I saw you weren't at the hospital?"

"That's why I'm calling, to let you know I'm alright." Theodore's voice sounded detached. "Mom, I need to be alone for a while. I'll come back in a few days." "Are you sure you're safe?" Sydney asked, her voice filled with worry.

"I'm fine. I won't let anything happen to me."

Sydney exhaled deeply. "Okay, I'll give you some space to think things over. Take as long as you need, but promise me you'll stay safe and won't do anything rash."

A heavy feeling sat in Sydney's chest, a mother's instinct warning her that Theodore might be desperate.

"I'm not going to do anything stupid. I've already come to terms with it. I'm hanging up now."

With that, Theodore ended the call.

Sydney felt a wave of relief wash over her. She had been terrified that Theodore might have been considering something drastic. Hearing his voice reassured her that he wasn't in any immediate danger. He just needed to calm down for a few days, and wouldn't do anything rash.

He wouldn't have called if he had plans to do something reckless. He just needed time to clear his head.

Sydney wondered what had been weighing so heavily on him, and how he could ever win over the woman he cared about with that mindset.

When she arrived at the hospital room, she paused at the doorway, spotting Sebastian speaking with Rosalie. He was doting on her, peeling apples and offering her tea.

"Seb, you don't have to keep fussing over me. Sit down and rest. I don't need anything right now, just sit with me for a while."

"Okay." Sebastian took a seat next to the bed. "Once you're feeling better, Rose, I'm taking you out somewhere fun."

Rosalie responded with a soft nod.

"I had planned to go to Melrine with you, but things got in the way, and we didn't get to go. I just hope you can get your memory back soon, Seb."

"Whether I get my memories back or not doesn't really matter. All that matters is you're here with me. That's all I need for my life to feel complete."

Sebastian pressed a kiss to her fingers. "Rose, I know you want your child to know his real father. But if he...if he doesn't want the baby, can I be the one to raise them? Can I be their 'Dad"?" "Seb, are you really okay with that?"

"Don't you get it? Every time you ask

you

me that, it breaks my heart. I love everything about you. Your child is my child too. I hate everything you've had to go through, and should never have been treated the way Theodore treated you. I had met you two years earlier, wouldn't have let you marry him."

He had met Rosalie too late. What did Theodore have over him, besides the fact that he'd met her first? All Theodore had done was cause Rosalie pain. Everything she'd been through was Theodore's fault.

"Thank you, Seb, for everything. We'll figure out the future when the time comes."

"But the future is happening now. You told me last night that if Theo didn't call you by 10.00 AM today, it meant he didn't want the baby. What are you thinking now? He doesn't want the baby. Why are you still holding onto hope for him? Your child deserves a father who wants them."

"Stop. Please, just stop." Rosalie squeezed her eyes shut, clearly in pain.

"I'm sorry, Rose. I'll stop." Sebastian clasped her hand tightly. "I just want you to know that, no matter what, the baby will have a father. I swear I'll treat the baby like my own. I don't swear I'll never have peace again."
