Chariot 3: Conception

Chapter 60 – Locked up

Four hours had passed since the officer had started his interrogation. Even though the answers for Exon`s questions were the most honest truth that Shoffer could possibly disclose, more ad more they seemed to be almost entirely the opposite of what Ebe had said in his interrogation.

“Captain Shon Shoffer, we may need to lock you up until we clarify what is going on around here.” Completely unaware of the capture of his enemy, Shoffer could not clearly conceive the reason behind such distrust.

“Lock me up? Do what you have to.”Close to lose his diplomacy.

Lieutenant Colonel Exon got up his chair and finally exited the interrogation room, slamming the door behind him, far from satisfied with the perturbing difference between of the same story. “Two stories. One liar...I sure hope.”

Following his peculiar military way of walking, the Colonel accessed the adjacent room where a group of high rank uniformed men watched the entire interrogation through the mirrored window. Next to them, an inconfoundable scientist looking men wearing the traditional white coat, and a couple of other black suited individuals whispered their thoughts to each other.

“Colonel, I`ve checked those coordinates. There is nothing but a test and training range in that location. The place is a desert.”

“Uhm…I see. But it does not sound like a bad location for a secret military base at all. The goddam place is in the middle of nowhere. A location we should certainly consider.”

“What did the other three say?” The Colonel asked, hoping for a light in that non sense.

“Same thing. Their story check. Although it totally goes against the one from our little grey friend.” One of the military replied.

“What shall we do now?” A third officer enquired.

“Lock them up. Let`s wait for the birds to arrive and then we will find out how helpful they can be.” Exon referred to the recovered spacecrafts.

Without wasting their time, the men saluted their superior and rushed off the room.

“Bring him to his cell.” The Colonel ordered as he exited the room. The sentinel that guarded the door immediately unlocked it while a second guard approached him.

“It’s time to move.” He advised his prisoner at the pace he walked through the door.

Shoffer stood up without saying a word other than hoping he would not be placed on another flight. His silence combined with the expression on his face could not hide the rather noticeable annoyance he was going through.

“Not the best treatment I expected.” He thought while standing up from his chair as the armed MP grabbed the upper part of his arm.

Once he stood up, Shoffer looked down towards his escort, making obvious how much taller the he actually was.

Feeling underpowered, not only by the height of the Nibirian Captain, but also by his somewhat cosmic demeanor, the embarrassed sentinel avoided looking into his eyes, and patiently waited for the extraterrestrial visitor to start walking.
