Captured By A Ruthless Vampire King

Chapter |101|~The Winner~

So here we are at the end of the road, finally! First, I would like to say that I love you. I love every one of you with all of my heart. Secondly, I would like to say that you all are amazing. You all rock!

It took me two years to complete this book and all of my die-hard fans who are still here with me shall forever and always have a place in my heart. Lastly, I would like to say that I’m so blessed to even have a platform in the world of FindNovel.net and Wattpad in the first place.

I don’t believe that any of you know how far I have come. It’s been a battle since day one, but yet I prevail and I always will because I’m the epitome of strength. We all are in the world of the Awakening.

Claire is my soul, Embry is my heart, but Beretta is my ultra-ego. Lol.

She’s up next!!! You will either love her, or hate her, but you will feel her. Trust me.

Embry POV.

“Have you lost your everlasting mind?!” growls my mate, the very moment that he and Claire step into Nicklaus’s private office?

After my challenges were accepted Claire made a very critical decision to unfreeze the guests one by one. First, it was the innocents who were just caught up in the crossfire, then it was the hunters that she is so interested in getting to know.

I can’t blame her. They are cool. Well, they look cool, especially Biggs.

I don’t know what it is about her that draws me to her. Maybe, it’s her bad girl vibe and fearless nature. She’s such a mood.

Luscious, on the other hand, seems to despise her the most. There is no doubt in my mind that when the opportunity presents itself that he will try to rid the world of her. Although, I know for a fact that she will give him a run for his money and my bet is on her. I don’t think he’s ready.

Anyway, after that Claire unfroze my pack first just in case one of the other packs decides to do something stupid like get themselves frozen again. Once the other packs were released they made it their point to state that they would be back tomorrow ready to rumble.

Next, was all of the toy soldiers and all the king’s men, who damn near ran out of there. Finally, she let go of the kings, also one by one. I requested for Cyrus to be let go last just because of this.

I knew that he was going to act exactly how he’s acting now like a ruthless lunatic.

By the time that they enter the room, the chosen girls are to the left and the kings and their friends are to the right, just kidding. However, the whole gang is already present.

The entire time that we’ve been waiting for them, I’ve been feeling like a prisoner waiting to plead my case in front of the jury and judge.

Marcellus even had the nerve to tell me that I was in trouble just seconds before my mate decided to storm through that door. So, here we go! He’s here. Let the dramatics begin.

“This bullshit challenge is not going to happen, ever!” The two of us now face to face. “You hear me, not as long as I have breath in my body.”

“Well, maybe we should just ask Claire to conjure up some cool ass spell to stop your breathing into the challenge is over.” Celine mumble’s under her breath from the other end of the room.

Some members apart of our parties break out in a fit of snickers, mostly the girls and Marcellus. The kings and other men continue to pout like little lost puppies. My guess is they are with him.

They are way too pissed, sad but pissed. I can feel their rage flowing through my blood as if we shared the same veins.

Besides Marcellus, he seems to be playing it neutral. “Can you do that, Claire bear,” I hear him whisper in her ear? Claire gives him an evil grin.

The two of them are sitting on the love seat by the window. Nicklaus and Xander are also over there, standing directly behind them and the steam that’s radiating around the two can be felt over here.

“Mind your fucking business!” He snaps at her.

“She is my business,” she snaps back, glaring at him.

“Why is she here anyway?” This is a private matter, a family discussion,” ask Rufus. His golden eyes are sparked with fury as he takes Celine in.

“She is family,” says Claire haughtily before I have a chance to put Rufus in his place. “Anybody connected to Embry is connected to us all, including the pack that she now runs,” she continues with one of her famous award-winning smirk’s. “Alpha Embry, who would have ever thought?”

“Wait? What did I miss?” ask Jadis with a puzzled look. Oh, that’s right! Cornelius got her out of there right before all the drama started. Smooth.

“Embry was such a badass,” Victoria tells her. “She was like I challenge, you, you and oh yeah scary hunk of an Alpha uncle I challenge you to. It was amazing.” Her amber eyes glisten.

Speck put’s her hands up to cradle her face. “You’re amazing, I’ve never seen a human kick a werewolf in the balls before. Now, that was Epic.” She smiles at her, causing Victoria’s rather pale skin to light up and I think it’s safe to say that everyone here is beyond stunned.

I mean, everyone but Gutter Butter. He just looks like he wants to murder someone, standing by the fireplace with his arms crossed. Yup, he’s mad as fuck.

“See, this is your problem,” Cyrus places the focus back onto us.“It’s the influence of all of them. They are corrupting your mind to think that you can do whatever you want to do. Well, news flash, Embry. You can’t. You are my beloved, you belong to me and you will listen to me.”

“You will do exactly what I say and I’m telling you that you can not and will not ever fight anyone, not even a fucking fly.” He has the nerve to say, officially pushing me and my wolf past our limit.

“Oh, snap!” I hear Marcellus say right before I go off.

“News flash, Cyrus! With all that being said, I’m still going to do whatever the heck I want. You see, that’s your problem! You think because your my beloved, mate, or whatever the fuck you want to call it that you own me. When in reality, you don’t own shit,” I spit out the last words with such venom, one may think that I can shift into a snake rather than a wolf.

“That’s right, Embry! Tell him.” My wolf edges me on inside my head as I continue to go toe to toe with Cyrus. “You may be a king but I’m your queen, a queen and I can do whatever the fuck I want to. No, better yet I will do whatever the fuck I want to with or without your consent,” and I will.

“So, you can either stand beside me like a real king at sunrise or you can go hide under a rock like the peasant that you’ve been acting like for all I care.” Cyrus releases a monstrous growl with blazing crimson eyes at my last statement and guess what?

I don’t give two shit’s about how he feels. I’m tired of him, acting as if I’m incapable of making my own choices.

I said it once and I said it again when it comes to my people it doesn’t involve Cyrus, even if he is my mate. He’s made it that way, not me. This is on him. All Cyrus had to do was accept me for me and put his pointless grudge with my people aside and we wouldn’t be here, but no.

He just had to go to war. He just had to be ruthless. He just had to be him and now I will be the queen that I was meant to be and clean up after him. I will end this war one way or another and for that I’m certain.

Somewhere, through the argument, Seneca must have made his way over here because he’s now standing right beside me, most likely ready to defend me against my mate if need be which is neither here nor there because I can handle my own.

Rufus has shifted positions as well. He’s right beside Seneca. The others are rendered silent, sitting on the edge of their seats, watching us with wide eyes stare. Shell shocked.

“What the fuck did you get up for?” Cyrus monster shout at Seneca but nope now is not the time for them to behave like children, I’m not done with him. “Hey, eyes on me, King Cyrus! ” My words are filled with pure sarcasm. “I’m not finished with you. ”

Once again his blazing crimson eyes fall into my blazing golden ones.

“So you can either get with the program or get lost, either way, the challenge has been issued and will be fought. Now the only question that remains is who is with me?” My eyes break away from him and look over our collective group of friends.

“Well, you know I’m down!” Celine is the first to say with a smudged look on her face. “And so am I,” Speck follows up.

“Count me in to,” says Victoria.” I’ve totally got more ball-kicking powers to go around.”

“You know I with you, death trap!′ grumbles, Gutter Butter before Marcellus says. “That now is perfect for her, deathtrap. Oh, wow! Anywho, count me in.” His smile is malicious but yet inviting.

Cyrus turns and growls at them seconds before Jadis says, “I’ll follow you anywhere. It’s chosen whores before everything.”

’Yeah! Abigal and Anasatia says together. “We’re in,”

“No the hell your not,” says Vlad, who;’s sitting next to Elijah, who just shakes his head.

“Ah, be quiet, Mr. Meany,” Claire says to him and looks at me to say, “You already know where I stand.”

“You’re not standing anywhere,” Nicklaus roars, finally having enough. “You’re! You’re!”

“You’re supposed to be my brother,” I cut him off. “My father is your father, my mother is your mother, my sister is your sister, my brother is your brother, my cousin is your cousin and my pack is your pack,” I recite his words and add a few of my own.

“You said, you pledge to always protect me right, wrong, or indifferent for the rest of eternity. You said that you pledge to accept my flaws and embrace my perfections. You said, that you pledge to love me with your unbeaten heart for the rest of my days. You pledged to be my brother and best friend. The one person that I could call upon for as long as I shall live,”

Silence. There’s audible silence, all eyes are now on him.

Nicklaus silvered-cerulean orbs look directly into my wolf soul as he walks over towards us. “Nicklaus,” my mate warns, stopping him in his tracks.

Nicklaus sighs and then says, “You not only accepted the bond with Embry but also fought for me to accept and respect the bond that you two share. She’s your beloved, Cyrus. My sister, our sister.” He looks out at everyone that’s here.

Then he turns back to face me and walks over in my direction. “I gave her my word,” he rolls back the sleeve of his tux as soon as he reaches me and then bite’s down into his skin. “And that’s a promise that I tend to keep,” He tells me as I follow his lead.

My sharp canines emerge from my gums before I bite down into my skin. He holds out his bleeding arm in my direction and I hold out my bleeding arm towards him.

Our blood gushes out onto the thick, red, and gold carpet as my lips come in contact with his super cool, but yet somehow lukewarm skin. I feel Cyrus’s entire figure tense up beside me as soon as Nicklaus’s surprisingly sweet essence drips onto my lips. He tastes like how he smells.

His potent cedarwood scent invades my sense as I drink his resinous and slightly spicy blood. He tastes sorta like, spiked vanilla and hint butterscotch, and I must admit that he tastes good.

So far, so good! Cool. It’s not as bad as I thought until suddenly it is. My wolf cries of pain ring loudly in my head as an electric spark surges into my core. Nicklaus razor-sharp fangs plunge further and further into my skin giving my body, mind, and soul a piece of him, a piece of them.

I can feel each king devilishly unmatched power surge through my veins. I can feel my soul connect with every one of them. Their energy is so dark, so dangerous, so deadly but at the end of the tunnel, there is light.

Claire. She is the light. Her golden-white halo beams joy into my soul as we all officially become one. In my mind, I imagine her holding out her hand for me to take and I accept her offer with a single teardrop rolling down my face.

We’re linked. We are all one.

Nicklaus fangs are gently removed from out of my arm and I remove my wolf sharp canines from out of his. My eyes burn and tears drop down to my lips as I stare at him.

“I’m with you sister,” says Nicklaus.

I hear the other agree collectively as my mate storms out of the room.

“What’s his problem?” growls Celine. She really doesn’t like him and if I was her I wouldn’t either.

“Beats me! Pretty little wolf, who could certainly beat my meat if you know what I mean,” Marcellus winks at Celine who’s now staring at him in shock.

“Shut up! Marcellus,” I sigh right before placing my eyes onto the door that Cyrus just stormed out. I so desperately want to go running after him, but I won't!

Regardless of how hurt I feel and yes I'm hurt. I have every right to be.

Luke gave up his pack to stand beside me, my family put their difference with the vampires just to stand beside me, even Nicklaus has pledged his soul to me and so has the others but the one person who should be by my side isn't.

Cyrus POV.

The sparks fly and smoke floats while the fire dances along with the wood from the bonfire. As the dry, withered stump slowly releases centuries of energy into the fresh air, whispering hisses, sizzling pops, and a thick, intoxicating smell of musky smoke and pine needles float freely towards the glowing moonlight.

The view is breathtakingly beautiful. Although, I will never admit that out loud. Acceptance isn't one of my strong points.

My monster is on high alert as we watch the dogs mourn the loss of their original Alpha and celebrate their new one.

Embry, my queen, my beloved. I still can't believe that they call her Alpha.

The Western group of dogs has seemed to make a campsite in the courtyard of my brother’s estate. They are howling my mate’s name, dancing to some bullshit as music, or either sitting around the bonfire telling tales about the times that they all shared with her when she was a pup and it’s all pissing me off.

The very sight of them is taking me deeper in deeper into the darkness. Oh, how I so desperately want to end them? I hate them all with a burning passion. They make me feel sick to my stomach and the worst part of it all is that my beloved is having the time of her life with them.

She and her friends are all dancing their lives away in the center of them all with the biggest smiles on their faces when she should be resting, preparing for the battle that she is so determined to have.

My crimson vision shifts to the left of me when I hear footsteps approaching. A tall figure is walking up the stairs that lead up here on the mezzanine. “What the fuck does he want?” My monster hisses inside of my head as the scent of earthy rain-soaked pine and fresh patchouli hit’s my sense. His dark hair glow in the silver moonlight. Embry’s father, Hunter is walking up the stairs.

“She been putting on a show all night,” he says, smiling at me.

“When she should be restings,” I tell him exactly how I feel. “You fucking wolves have a bonfire every chance you get.”

Hunter takes a sip of his beer. “It’s tradition. Bonfire gives a sense of peace to our inner beast. It’s been like that way before my time. Our Goddess,”

“I don’t give a fuck about your tradition, or fucking Goddess,” I hiss out before he could say another word. Their traditions are bullshit and always have been for as long as I could remember.“I don’t care about any of it. I just care about her. She’s the only thing that matters.”

Hunter’s face turns serious. “And that’s just it! That’s what you don’t get, your beloved is a she-wolf. The people that you don’t care about,” he waves his hand out in the direction of the crowd. “Are her people, no matter what and will always be. Embry will never turn her back on her family or her pack. She ways too loyal for that.”

I have to smile at that.

He has a point but my problem is will the pack of mutts remain by her side no matter what?

I don’t trust them and I can only hope for their sake that they would, or else.

Now it’s my turn for my face to turn serious. “And if any of your people ever betray her I’ll rip their fucking hearts out.”

Embry’s dad smirks. “And I’ll join you, we both want the same thing, Cyrus. We both want her to live a long, safe, and happy life. To be really honest with you, my entire pack does. We always knew that she was special. I always knew that she was special but I would have never in a million years expected her to do this,” he finishes before looking at her.

“For the last past century, no one could get vampires or wolves to be in the same room unless it concerned shedding blood, no one. It has only been a couple of months since you took her from us and now look,” he pauses for just a second. “My people are in the King of all vampire kings home ready to fight beside him all in the name of Embry.”

“She’s special,” he finishes and I nod in agreement. Embry is very special. A winner for sure.

Hunter then takes a sip of his beer before offering it to me. At first, I hesitate before deciding to give in. Fuck, it! Rather, I like him or not he’s my beloved father, and when it comes to her we seem to be on the same accord.

I just hope that he never betrays her because I would hate to be the one to cause her even more pain when I rip his fucking heart out and leave it at her door, but I will. I will kill anyone that is out to hurt her, blood or not. That’s exactly why I’m so dead set on ending this challenge before it even began.

I know Embry thinks that I’m being selfish but I’m not. My fury isn’t because she selected to take a stand for her people. I get it. I truly do, even a fool could see that Embry was born to lead these mutts, but how could I sit back and watch the one person that means the most to fight till the death.

I can't and I won't. It’s my job to protect her.

Although, I know that she will never forgive me if I intervene with this bullshit-ass challenge and I will never be able to forgive myself if something happens to her.

So, what the fuck am I supposed to do? Just let it happen! Fuck, I’m caught between a rock and a hard place. Out of my rearview, I see Hunter watching me with concern as if he could read my thoughts but he doesn’t push.

We stand in companionable silence for a long time after that, both watching my sunshine from afar.

Finally, he sighs. “You know, Embry can handle herself. I’ve trained her myself. She’s one of the best fighters in the packs of North America, if not the best. She has a good chance of winning even against my brother, but she needs the people that she loves in her corner. She needs your support, Cyrus.”

I sigh back before saying, “I know, I’m just so scared to lose her! How do you let the woman you love fight till the death because of the damage that you’ve caused?” It's not right.

“We’ve all played a part in this,” says Hunter before turning back around to look at her. “However, if you don’t have faith in her. How do you expect for her to have faith in herself?”

Once again, he’s making a valid point.

Embry’s POV.

I arrive back at the chambers that Cyrus and I are sharing right before sunrise. An hour or so, before it’s time to fight. With everything going on, I couldn’t sleep last night which I’ll know that I’ll probably regret but I couldn’t.

There’s way too much about to go down. Plus, my mate will not be standing by my side today. So, what’s the point of sleeping beside him anyway. I was much better off spending time with the people that I love. My support system and I had an amazing time.

For a second, I was able to escape my reality.

For a second, I was just able to act like the future of my people doesn’t rest on my shoulders, and it felt amazing.

Although, I'm perfectly aware that all good things must come to an end.

Now, it’s time to stand on my word.

Cyrus looks like he’s wide awake when I walk into the room.

“You’ve been out all night, Embry. When you should have been resting. Come,” he walks over to me and takes my hand leading me towards the bed. “You need rest.”

Here he goes again, acting like I'm his child instead of his mate. “You know very well why I can’t do that. It’s time and I’m going,” I tell him, snatching away from him. “You can’t stop this, Cyrus! Get over it.”

“I know and I’m not trying to,” he mumbles underneath his breath, catching me off guard. He then pulls me back into him before leaning down and pressing his lips to my forehead. That chilling sensation that only he can bring me sinks into my soul.

“You will partake in the challenge one way or another and I will be by your side win, lose or draw. No matter, how much it will kill me to watch it. I’ll do it for you.”

“For me,” I ask looking into his heartbreakingly handsome face.

“For you,” he tells me. “I’ll be there the entire time, and I always will be.” he promises.

“And I’ll be damned if you’re not at your best. That’s exactly why your father went to negotiate with the other Alphas for the match to begin at midnight. I didn't know if the other Alphas would agree to the terms. So, I’ve sent my guard along with him as he delivered the message, surprisingly they agreed.”

Of, course they would! The moonlight reaches its highest peak at the hunting hour, meaning our wolves will be at their strongest during the time.

It’s the magic hour. The perfect time to tap into our more animalistic senses.

“Why would you do that?” I ask, looking up at him.

“Why do you even have to ask? Embry, I know that I could be difficult, but you’ve got to understand that it’s nothing that I wouldn’t do for you or your well-being.”

He suddenly moves his hand to cover my back until he has both arms wrapped around me protectively. “All of my possessive nature and monstrous rage comes from the need to protect you, even when it doesn’t feel like it.” His voice is calm and low, but I can feel some sort of strain in his words. He kind of sounds hurt or more like...

That’s when it hits me, he’s scared. He’s afraid for me.

Cyrus the ruthless vampire king is afraid.

“I can’t lose you,” he says to me. His beautiful golden halos are watering as tears threaten to fall. “I cannot live without you.”

“And you won’t,” I promise from the bottom of my heart. ”

I will win.

No, matter what it takes. I will save my people and come back to my mate.

Cyrus POV.

The time has come.

There are tents, flags, and banners embedded with each pack crest blowing in the wind all around us.

We’re on an open field surrounded by tall bearing trees. The brilliant fall colors are hidden by the colors of the night looming skeleton-like trees all around us. A sea of lifeless leaves layout like falling soldiers underneath our feet. The ground is still damp and slipper from this morning’s rain.

There is nothing but a pitch-black sky above us. The stars are shining bright, and the temperature is cool, refreshing. Every so often, the wind blows a crisp summer-like breeze even though it’s early autumn.

The moon hangs in her glory, radiating gorgeous light above our heads.

It’s the perfect scenery. The type of scenery that will take your breath away.

The perfect arena to be someone final resting place.

Rows on top of rows of wooden benches have been set up in a circular position around the wolf’s infamous bonfires for each pack to view the fight.

The queen, us kings, and the rest of the royal party have a special viewing section on a platform stage directly in front of the bonfire. I can feel the heat from the flame blowing on my face. Embry’s closest friends and family members are also here sitting alongside us.

I’ve noticed the accusing stares from the enemy packs as Raphael directed them to sit beside us and guess what? No, one cares. Embry is my queen, so her family is now considered to be royalty as well.

I never thought that I would say this, but they belong here. They belong with me.

“Em, Em,” calls out a highly annoying but somewhat adorable high pitch voice as the wind blows in her mouthwatering scent. The crowd of wolves begins to chant, confirming that the fight is about to begin, making my stomach turn.

At that moment, it takes every ounce of my strength not to go back on my word and end them all. I swear, it takes every ounce of me not to just end this before it even begins but I know for a fact that if I do my beloved would hate me for the rest of our days.

So, I place my focus on her nephew Jenkins instead. He’s sitting on her aunt Elena’s lap right beside me. Earlier on, I had the pleasure of meeting them both, and I would be lying if I didn’t admit that I’m completely smitten by the mutt.

Who wouldn’t be? He’s a cute kid.

“It’s time for him to go,” I say to her aunt. He doesn’t need to see this.

She shakes her head. “No, it’s a part of our custom that each member of the family is present during a challenge. His father would want him here.”

What a fucked up tradition? He’s just a kid and his father is dead so it doesn’t matter what he would want I start to say, but for the first time in history, I decide to bite the bullet.

Instead, I stare into the kid striking crystal blue eyes and mentally promise myself that I will be there for him from this day forward. He’s been through a lot.

My mind continues to reel when the wolves begin to howl towards the moon in unison and I swear my unbeaten heart begins to beat rapidly as I turn in the direction of the bonfire.

Four muscular creators make their way into the circle. The three enemy Alphas and my sunshine.

She looks magnificent. The way that her pearl white and silvered gray wolf stares into the eyes of every alpha present with no fear makes my dick twitch.

Her wolf physique is built ten times stronger and more muscular compared to the southern alphas snow-white wolf and the eastern alpha black and white wolf frame. Although, the eastern alpha wolf is taller than Embry’s by an inch or so.

Now, the northern alpha wolf is stronger and taller than all their wolves. For the most part, Embry’s wolf frame does match his to a certain extent. She’s just a little lankier compared to his.

The very thought of him sinking his flaws into her flawless coat turns my vision red. Claire grips my hand in hopes of calming me down.

“It’s going to be fine. She’s been training for this all her life. I’ve been training her for this all her life. It’s going to be fine,” murmurs her father repeatedly, as if he’s reassuring himself as much as he’s trying to convince me and all the other kings.

Embry cousin Celine is standing right behind her in human form just like the rest of the Alphas betas. My eyes land on the Southern Alpha bitch of a sister who I nearly drained a couple of moons ago. Hmmm. Those, we’re the days. She must have sensed me watching her because her eyes shift in my direction before she flashes me the middle finger.

“Ouch!” says Marcellus about to start his usually fool behavior when all of a sudden the Eastern alpha goes charging in my beloved direction way before the signal is given.

The audacity. He is playing a dangerous game. My monster roars out loud at his blatant disrespect. That’s it! The fights over. I hop out of my seat seconds away from jumping in defense of my beloved, but my brothers quickly restrain me.

“Cyrus, no!” Nicklaus’s words appear in my head as Seneca grabs onto my shoulder.

“That’s my girl,” shouts Hunter. This is when I encounter Embry taking the eastern Alpha head-on. Her magnificent frame collides with his weak one and in a heartbeat, her sharp and razor-like claws sink into his flesh with ease.

Then, her wolf vicious canines sink into the side of his neck. With one pull, his neck snaps, and his wolf head is detached from his body. Her snout is covered in his blood. That’s how long it takes, for my beloved to get her first kill, proving that he’s the weakest link.

She is now the western and eastern pack alpha.

She is victorious. The crowd of wolves goes crazy, especially her brother Ruq.

“Hell yeah, princess! That’s my girl,” he howls and pumps his fist in the air. I take a deep breath after that. As of now, I’m calm but my composer doesn’t last for even a second. My monster comes back to life as the southern alpha strikes at my beloved next with way more skills.

Now, I must give it to her, she’s well trained and is putting her training to good use. My vision continues to bleed, as I watch her deliver a series of deadly blows in my beloved direction.

Embry’s skills are proven to be unmatched against her opponent as she dodges each assault one by one. Until the southern alpha manages to finally draw blood. My monster begins to pace back and forth inside me as Embry wolf releases a monstrous growl.

Seconds, later she pounces on top of her opponent who embraces her with open arms.

The crowd of people, including us are hanging on the edge of our seats as we watch their wolf forms viciously go after one another. Neither one of them is backing down. Both are looking intimidating and fierce going for the kill. Razor claws and sharp canines extended as they growl and clash like the titans, clawing at each other throats.

Out of the corner of my eyes, I watch the Eastern Alpha daring for him to jump in, but he doesn’t. He stalks them instead like a monster in the night would stalk their prey. He’s studying the way that both move, evaluating their strength and weaknesses. He’s smarter than he looks.

My vision is placed back onto my beloved as the sound of her wolf cries feels the air. This time, the southern alpha managed to pin her wolf frame over top of hers. Before I could intervene, I feel multiply hands pinning me down again and this time some one’s arms are locked around my neck.

“Get the fuck off of me, I’ll kill you all,” roars my monster, fighting back. One way or another, we’re going to get to Embry even if we’ve got to end them all.

No one can stop us. I don’t know when we did it but once again, I find myself out of my seat only to calm as I see my beloved turn the tables around.

In a blur, she’s now on top of the southern alpha with her claws in her neck. The crowd goes crazy as Embry holds her opponent down in place, slowly going for the kill but stops in her tracks as the southern alpha lowers her snout and does the unthinkable.

She submits.

That’s it! Embry is now the Alpha of not one but three packs of America! The crowd goes crazy.

Embry POV.

Two down, one to go,” I say to my wolf as my uncle approaches us.

“That’s easier for you to say,” she growls, lowly never taking her eyes off our uncle. “Your the one sitting pretty while I put in all the work. How about we shift and throw him off.”

You know what. That’s actually a good idea it would throw him off guard for sure, even though it’s extremely dangerous but before I could answer her my uncle’s monstrous wolf pounces in our direction.

Thankfully, we dodge him just in time.

Seconds later, we’re back on our four paws gracefully. “Now, Embry” growls my wolf as we shift back into human form and I jump on his back.

The crowd roars excitedly all around us. In fact, they are going crazy than they have all night.

As expected, my uncle is knocked off his A-game for just a second, but long enough for us to shift back into wolf form, landing on top of his back. Quicker than quick, my wolf claws dig into the back of his fur with so much force it sends him flying to the ground.

Before a second could end, we go for the kill but we’re not fast enough. His massive wolf shakes forcefully back and forth before sending us flying across the field.

My wolf body lands onto the wet ground with a big thud. Miraculously, I manage to pounce back onto my four paws right before he managed to pounce on top of me.

Then, we clash.

Instinctively, I swing out in the direction of his face but unfortunately, my claws doesn’t connect.

He’s way too fast and he’s strong as hell, stronger than I thought.

With a rush of the wind, his claws go flying into my fur, drawing more blood. Then, his sharp and razor-like canines bite down into the wound that I receive from my last brawl with such force my wolf release an ear-splitting howl.

He once again shakes my wolf body back in forth like a rag doll before finally spitting us out.

As we get up, our golden eyes encounter his golden eyes I can literally see his wolf flash a wolfish smile.

“He’s playing with us,” I roar to my wolf. “He thinks we are a joke.”

That’s all it takes for my wolf to go charging in his direction again. This time we manage to sink our sharp claws into his pitch-black coat. What happens next, is a well-played dance of razor claws and sharp canines snapping, clawing, and attacking one another.

My uncle uses his strength to his advantage and I use my speed against him. There’s no doubt, that’s he is stronger but I’m faster and he knows it.

The deadly dance seems to go on and on, for hours. Both of our blood now stains the stage as it spreads out across the muddy soil.

Finally, he’s beginning to slow down, tiring out and I once again go for the kill just to fall into a well-played trap.

He intercepts my lunge in mid-air, catching me by the neck with his vicious teeth. For the third time, he shakes me like a rag dog and this time my neck snaps.

My wolf releases an ear-piercing scream. He growls, and his bite becomes sharper. He bites down harder, taking my life essence with every sip. I can feel my wolf life fading away. I struggle to break free of his grasp but no matter how hard I try. I can’t. His bite is a big as his bark.

Game over. He won. He’s proved himself to be the better with. I begin to lose consciousness and the first person I see is him. Of, course! My mate will follow me anywhere, even in death.

As always, his heartbreakingly handsome face becomes my new reality, but it was short-lived because for the first time ever I decide to save myself.

I will not wait for Cyrus, or anyone else to rescue me. I’m a queen in my own right. I am a Wilde.

In fact, I’m Embry Destiny Wilde a queen and I don’t need anybody to save me. I can save myself.

This battle is mine to win and just like that a rush of power brings me back to life and the next thing I know is my wolf finding the strength to push my uncle’s entire wolf frame up from off us.

Seconds after that, we’re back on our four paws just in time to pounce on top of him with the element of surprise we go for the kill and this we have him locked in. There’s no escaping this position and the best part about it all is that my wolf and I managed to do this alone.

We won, but even still I hesitate. How could I not? He’s still my uncle.

Out of the corner of my eyes, I see Celine massive black wolf standing over top of Mecca’s fragile brown one, which means that she must have attempted to intervene, and her life is officially mine to take. Good, I deal with her next.

Even during his final moments all he seems to care about is her because my uncle wolf begins to plead inside my head. “No, Embry, Please, don’t! Please don’t kill her. I submit. I submit!”

“Prove it,” growls my wolf, giving him just enough space to shift.

Within the next second, my uncle’s wolf body form crouches down with his tail tucked, before licking my muzzle.

In the werewolf’s world, it’s ultimate form of submission. His movement is an open pledge of stating that I’m his Alpha. I’m the better wolf.

That’s all it takes for me to release him and by the time that I stand the entire audience is now silent.

Crickets! Cricket! It’s so quiet you can hear them chirping on the other end of the world.

My eyes seek out my mate the very moment I shift back into human form.

He’s on the platform just standing there, sweaty, and bloody. They all are. It’s more than evident that the kings we’re engaged in their very own battle most likely in attempts to keep my mate from being the one to interfere.

Our eyes lock for a long while, there’s so much pride in his golden halos as he takes in my naked form.

Oh, shit! He’s going to kill me I think to myself but he does the complete opposite.

He submits lowering his body to bow before me, and the other kings including the king of all kings follow his lead, but the person who shocks me the most is Claire.

She to lowers her head in my direction and so does every other soul that’s present.

The entire audience is bowing before me, me. me.

Out of all people! Me!

That’s when reality sets in, I’m now Embry Destiny Wilde the Alpha to all packs of North America but most importantly the Ruthless vampire king she-wolf Queen.

Oh, my Goddess! I did it. It’s done. I’m the winner.
