Chapter 19
Previously on The alpha's rogue
"Heard right? What's wrong with going on a date with me? Do I stink?"
"That is non of your business now let us go, we're running late."
"Call me Beatrice." She once again smiled while taking both of my hands in hers'.
"Someone's after you."

Landon's POV
"Alpha, the papers you requested are here." Oliver said as he entered my office.
Since I found Alexia, many werewolves have been roaming near my territory.
Reason? No clue yet.
"You think you'll find what you're looking for?" Oliver asked as sat down, probably exhausted from all of the work I asked him to do.
"I pray that I do. If not, We'll have to keep looking."
"Just what are you searching for?" He breathed out.
"Information about the death of the first dead Luna of Lexi's past pack. There's something I just can't put my hands on."
"What does the present Alpha of the Luna's old pack has to do with the drastically increased number of rogues roaming near our pack?
Wait a minute, wasn't she a rogue?!"
I sighed as I remembered that I am yet to explain the origins of Alexia to my friend.
"I'll tell you later. Remember the letter you gave me a couple of days ago?"
"Oh that letter? I forgot to bother you, How did your date go Landie?" He smirked, dismissing his lack of information about my mate. But seriously, not him too. Isn't my family enough? No wait, I forgot that I consider Oliver my brother...
"Enough with the stupid nickname, and for your question, I screwed up."
"Aww, did someone get blockheaded?"
"Shut up Oliver. I didn't, I just told her that someone's after her."
"You did what! How could you do that Landon? You fucked up man you know that?"
"What a great friend you are."
He rolled his eyes at my statement and proceeded,
"I'll go now look for her. Any idea where she is?"
"There's something called mind link, ever heard of it?"
"I want to surprise her."
"I want to surprise her." He mimicked me.
"Such a child."
"Go lover Landie. I’m rooting for you, you'll find her at the pack's orphanage." He winks at me as he strolled out of my office.
Why am I friends with this moron?
I promenaded till I finally reached the orphanage house.
The good thing I find about the orphanage is, that there aren't many orphans. The ones who are here had one of their parents dying from a disease or a natural thing and the other didn't take their parting well. Maybe the other parent dies from heartbreak or they kill themselves which is mostly option 1. Maybe you'll ask, what about the rogues' attacks.
My answer will be a no. It's been years since we last encountered a rogue who killed a member of our pack.
"Alpha Landon!" A pair of two identical kids exclaimed as they wrapped their tiny arms around me.
The Miller twins, Jayden and Jaylen.
Even though they aren't orphans, they spend a seemingly endless time at the orphanage. They are friends with almost every werewolf they have met in their entire life.
They're 10 years old. Both have this wavy light brown hair, white skin and semi-tall body for their ages. Even though they look alike, you can still spot the difference.
Jayden has green eyes like Alexia whilst Jaylen has light blue ones.
"Hey there little ones, how's it going?"
"We're not little!" They said in unison.
"You are." I sticked my tongue out and they replied by rolling their eyes and huffing.
"Did you see my mate?"
"She's been here all morning, Mary's also here with her."
I hummed as my response.
"We're going now, mother will be angry if we don't get home before dinner." Jayden said as Jaylen started bitting his nails in response.
"Well, send my greetings to her. Oh and tell her that I want both of you alive." I laughed.
"We will." They said in unison again yet with a hint of fear. They should though, their mother is dangerous when someone’s tardy. She almost had the knife in her mate's throat for being late when she had my family over for a dinner once a couple of years back.
I easily found my mate who was yet again baking with Mary.
"Landon!" She scolded me as I took a piece of a brownie she was putting on one of the plates.
"Stealing isn't right." She chastised me when I greedily are it. She's wholly a talented baker.
"It's not stealing, it was out there. It had nobody's name on it either so I can take it."
When I went to take a cookie this time, she slapped my hand away.
"That hurt." I pouted.
"It didn't, don't touch anything." She growled the last part.
"Okay okay, jeez I just wanted some."
"Then you should ask. All of these are for the whole pack. We spent the whole time preparing everything with the everyone here." She pointed at the unnumbered varieties of mouthwatering sweets.
"Everyone?"
"Jayden and Jaylen? The girls and boys who live here too..." she quietly said as she continued putting the brownies in the plates.
As I hugged her from the side and planted a long kiss onto her forehead, she said,
"I love you." She said as she let about half of her weight onto me. She's heavier than before but, she's still feather like, I almost didn't recognise the weight difference.
She's been getting better since she the ball.
Speaking of which, it's been along time since I marked her...then it should be hitting her soon!
"What's the matter?"
"Well...You do know that it's been a while since I marked you..."
"And...?"
"Well...You know..Your heat should be arriving soon..."
Realising what I mean, her mouth made an O-shape with a pained expression. Well she does have every right to feel uncomfortable.
The heat is just like its name. It's an intense wave of heat. It hits the marked she-wolves to make them finish the mating process. Every doctor described it in a painful way, yet when you see a she-wolf in heat, you find what they described was nothing from what actually happens.
Other unmated wolves get distracted from the sweet smell of the in-heat she-wolves.
I feel sorry for them.
Good thing is, if the she-wolf actually finished the mating process before then, then she won't get to have the heat hit her.
"I'm not ready..." I heard Alexia whisper to herself.
"It's alright, I'm just worried about you...The pain you know..."
"I know." She softly smiled and pecked my cheek before leaving my arms, letting her warmth linger there for a few moments then disappearing.
At that moment, Mary entered the room and told us that she can do the rest alone so we did. I took Alexia to the woods for a walk...
Third person’s ? POV
As the Alpha took his mate for a walk through the mystic woods, the allied rogues were making moves as their mysterious fella wanted the young Luna slaughtered.
Alpha Landon knew that there was something suspicious going on around him but little did he know about it.
With every step the two of them take, danger gets closer to them.
In the mean time, the beta of the pack was searching more by himself to help his dear friend uncover the hidden truth he’s looking for.
Maybe they are getting to beginning of something bigger or maybe they are getting to their doom themselves. Whatever happens though, only the moon goddess does know.
