Bound by the CEO’s Baby By Sun Scar Chapter 97
Chapter 97
“Ana? Will you consider jumping on a plane with Alan tomorrow and come to me? I won’t be able to concentrate if you aren’t right beside me.”
Ana was silent for a few seconds. “I will call into work and see if that is possible. Call you back soon?”
Damien sighed in relief. “Just let me know so that I can book the tickets.”
Her response was prompt. “Give me fifteen minutes.”
Damien stood at the airport, stoically waiting. There was nothing to ease his anxiety as he waited for his family to come through the security gates. Finally, he spotted them. Alan had a purple bag while Ana simply came with a big diaper bag.
“Daddy!” Alan yelled, running up to him and jumping into his arins.
“I am so happy to see you, kid,” he groaned, hugging Alan tightly and rocking him back and forth.
“I was on an aipwane!” Alan exclaimed.
“I know,” Damien chuckled.
Ana stood back, allowing the father and son some alone time. Damien grabbed her upper arm and pulled her to him, kissing her head and nuzzling his face into her hair.
“Thank you,” he whispered.
Ana glanced up at him. “We need to talk later,” she announced seriously.
“I know. How was the flight?” he asked, setting Alan down and grabbing the diaper bag from her shoulder. He almost stumbled with how heavy it was. “You put rocks in this, didn’t you? How can it be so heavy?”
Anastasia burst out into laughter. “I have everything I needed to entertain a three–year–old with a short attention span. I didn’t want the other passengers to be disturbed.”
“Did it work?”
“Somewhat. He fell asleep on the way to the airport so I had him run up and down the ramp for an hour until we boarded the plane. We colored, tried to watch a movie… It could have been worse considering he was fussy the last time he got on the plane. I would say he did really well.”
“How does he still have so much energy?” Damien asked.
“His body is used to time back at home, Damien. Geography.”
Damien nodded, feeling like an idiot. He cleared his throat. “Are you hungry?”
“I am!” Alan piped up.
“Of course, you are. Daddy asked a silly question,” Ana teased.
Damien grabbed Ana’s hand and kissed her knuckles. “I love you.”
Damien collected their bags and the car seat Ana had thoughtfully checked in. They made to the car before the driver took them to the house Damien was staying in. On their way, Damien hopped out to get some takeout for them. He had ordered in advance.
“Wow.” Ana gasped as they pulled up in front of the house. “How did you find this place at such short notice?”
Damien shrugged, “Anything is possible when you have money, love.”
Ana rolled her eyes. “How could I forget.”
Damien grabbed everything out of the trunk, stopping the driver who wanted to help. During this, Ana pulled Alan out and they got inside.
“I kept the heater on but I don’t want to sweat in the middle of winter. Moreover, I don’t want to fall in love with this place.”
“Why! You’d want to buy it?”
“If I decide to expand the business, we might need a house for our family to stay in. But it still depends on the timeline…”
Ana stared at him for a moment before a shy smile spread across her lips.
“What?” he asked.
“Nothing.”
Chapter 97
After mucking Alan into bed, Damien strode to the bedroom and found Ana standing next to the bed. Her back was to him as she searched through her purse. Damien slipped his arms around her waist and rested his chin on her shoulder.
missed you so much,” he sighed before pressing his lips to her neck.
She tilted her head to the other side, giving her better access. “I missed you, too. It was hard sleeping without you the past few days.”
His hands wandered under her shirt and across her stomach. When he went to unbutton her pants, she stopped him.
“We need to talk.”
“Ana,” he groaned as she turned in his arms and then sat down on the bed. “I shouldn’t have sent you so many texts.”
“Damien, you can’t do that. You can’t assure that 1 changed my mind and keep texting me. Your tone was nasty and your subsequent silence didn’t help matters either. She sounded hurt.
“What did you think I was going to do?” she asked.
“I don’t know”
“You must have thought of something that got you so riled up
Damien sighed. “I can’t control myself when I am upset with you? What was I supposed to think when you were out with a man who would do anything to make you his lover
“He will never be my lover. He is my friend”
“He WAS your friend.”
“No, Damien. He is my friend. Even if I never see him again.” Ana trailed off “Do you even know what was said when we met? Do you care? Because I told him and I am sure everyone who was in hearing distance that you were the only man I would ever love” She sucked in a deep breath “That you are Alan’s father and you are our family. And you don’t even trust me Instead, you get ticked off I know I trust you implicitly, but you don’t feel the same
Damien knew she had a point. She had trusted her even though he had done everything to make her question him. She gave him constant reassurance and he had assumed the worst
Damien got down on his knees in front of her “I was a jerk for sending you those messages. I was worried and I was so tired.”
Ana had a pained look in her eyes.
“And I have no excuse,” he continued. “I was looking for a reaction and that is a toxic thing to do”
