Bound by the CEO’s Baby By Sun Scar Chapter 9

Chapter 9

“You’re grumpy this morning. Do you wanna grab some coffee? You will be called to the office anyway. There was an emergency that might need you to look into it.”

Ana grew eerily silent. “Okay, sure.”

“See you in an hour, then.”

An hour later, she was sitting in the cafe in her office building with Wynne..

“God, last night was such a blast. You will not believe what James did to me.”

Anastasia shook her head. “Spare me the details. I don’t feel like throwing up this early in the day.”

Wynne frowned for a minute before grinning. “Did you drink so much that you had to puke? Besides, if I don’t let you live vicariously through me, how on earth are you going to tell the man who steals your virtue what you really want him to do?”

Anastasia blushed and bowed her head. A little gasp from behind them alerted her that someone had overheard them. Wynne turned immediately and her face grew serious. “Mr. Wright…”

Ana’s stomach dropped. She chanced a look at Damien. He was glaring at her. Wynne didn’t seem to notice the look in his eyes. Ana believed that she deserved it. She had not mentioned that she was a virgin and she was also his employee. She had taken advantage of him while he was drunk. She blamed herself for all of it.

“Miss Boyd. Miss Reid.” He gritted out through his teeth.

“Please ignore our girl talk…” Wynne tried to salvage the situation.

“Wynne!” Ana hissed. “Shut up.”

“I have a meeting that I need to attend.” Damien mumbled.

“Oh. I didn’t know you had something planned. Do you need my help setting it up?” Wynne asked professionally. Damien didn’t answer. He slammed open the door to the shop and stormed put, refusing to look back. That was the last time Anastasia saw Damien Wright.

Wynne stared at Anna. Obviously, she had spared a few details, but she detailed the night and next morning to her.

“What an asshole!” Wynne shouted. Ana flinched.

“Wynne, he didn’t know.”

Wynne rolled her eyes. “Maybe he was drunk at the time, but he sure as hell knew the morning after. Why the fuck did he treat you like that? He never said a thing to you?”

Anastasia shook her head. “I never saw him again. He went away for a business meeting. And I got sick.”

“Yeah, I remember you quit because of health issues and you were constantly sick.” Understanding washed over her and Ana sighed. “Did you know then?”

Anastasia shook her head. “No. I found out after I had joined the other company. I had been feeling nauseous for a few weeks. I had headaches and stomach cramps. I went to the medical office to figure out what was wrong

with me. I was freaking out that I had something bad. They did the mandatory pregnancy check and the test results were… I never suspected it. I had been spotting during my period, so I thought it was the stress of everything. I almost fainted when the result came out. You emailed me a few days after that.”

*Why didn’t you tell me?” Wynne’s voice was higher than normal and it sounded like she was fighting back tears.

Chapter 9

“I didn’t know what to do. I was freaking out. It never occurred to me that we didn’t use protection. We must have been so drunk…”

“No, shit. I know how particular Damien is about using protection. He doesn’t trust women or wants to be a father.” Wynne wrinkled her nose as she added, “Well, apparently he is not as paranoid as I thought.”

“Fantastic. If he ever finds out about Alan, he would certainly flip out. This wouldn’t help his trust issues; Anastasia thought.

“I read your email over and over again, trying to figure out how to respond to it. I didn’t want him to know and I knew it wasn’t something you could keep from him. I knew he would go ballistic. He would force me to get rid of my baby. And it wasn’t an option for me and I didn’t want a stranger to adopt him. And I didn’t want to ruin Damien’s life.” Ana bit her lip. “And I was afraid of him. He hated me, Wynne. He was so disgusted by what we had done that he couldn’t even look at me. I couldn’t bear the thought of my child growing up with his parents hating each other… and always fighting. Lord knows my parents had their differences and it took a toll on me. It was horrible.”

Anastasia could see the tears welling up in Wynne’s eyes. She stood up and sucked in a deep breath. “Can I see some, pictures… of you and…”

Anastasia handed over her phone and scrolled to the correct folder. Wynne walked to the corner of the room and ran her fingers over the screen. She swiped from photo to photo. They were pictures of Alan. A photo of Anastasia in the hospital. holding Alan in her arms as a newborn, with her mother proudly holding the tiny little hand. A picture of Alan in between a yawn, him learning to walk. The most recent one was of Anastasia dressed up and holding an award for her exemplary work. Alan was kissing her cheek.

Wynne finally turned to look at Anna. The tears in her eyes were no longer brimming; they rolled down her cheeks. “I am so sorry. I should have been there for you.”

Anastasia shook her head. “You couldn’t have done anything. Wynne. I mean it. Really, if I told you, what could you have done?”

“I don’t know. I could have been there for you. James and the others would have been there for you… even if Damien hadn’t

been.”

“That is just it. I didn’t want you to take sides, especially when your boss was involved. The only thing Damien did wrong was sleep with someone he employed. And who knows, maybe I was not the only one.”
