Bound by the CEO’s Baby By Sun Scar Chapter 5

Chapter

“Urm… It wasn’t a thing, Wynne. I… we.. How do I explain it? We were stupid and reckless. Yes, we had sex… very drunk sex… but it was one night. And then he threw me out the next morning.”

Wynne looked battled. “Explain that to me,” she said, crossing her arms across her chest.

“You remember the last annual company party 1 attended? The one right before I resigned?”

“Of course.”

“I got drunk and possessed by you. You were dancing with James and I struck up a conversation with Damien. One thing led to another and we were going back to his house at some point in the night.”

Wynne nodded, urging Anastasia to continue.

“When I woke up the next morning, he grabbed me by the wrist and yanked me off the bed. He looked so angry that I thought he was going to fire me…. or hit me… I don’t know.”

Wynne gasped. “Did he hit you?” she choked out.

Anastasia shook her head. Her eyes settled on the large window and she thought back to that night.

“Anastasia, have you submitted the report today?” her immediate boss asked. The professionally dressed woman came up from behind her, looking all commanding and business. As the Director of the department, the woman had climbed to the top of the firm by being a workaholic and forgetting other people had lives apart from her jobs.

“Good evening. I hope you enjoy the party.” Ana said with a bite, a cheerful smile on her face. Ana couldn’t fathom why her boss couldn’t just ask her that question before she left work or the next workday.

It was the company’s annual party and Ana just wanted to sit arou huffed. She was supposed to start her weekend early but she was just going to simmer in anger.

and do nothing. The woman walked away and Ana

“Why the long face, Ana?” Wynne asked, a hand placed on her shoulder. She was dressed beautifully and very different from the usual formal attire she wore. The cocktail dress really made her look good.

Anastasia rearranged her expression into a smile. “I don’t know if I will enjoy the party,” she sighed.

“Well, I have a great weekend planned ahead and I will show off my boyfriend before taking him home with me. We want to spice things out… It is so romantic!” she chimed happily.

“Wonderful. You’ve been together for so long… it’s not new for the two of you to head off early.”

“And what a fantastic time it has been. I remember it like yesterday when I first saw him.” She grinned devilishly.

“Yes, you snatched him up the moment you laid your eyes on him.”

“Hey! When you see someone who speaks to your soul, you snatch that person right up. No way I am going to wait around for the man to be stolen from me. Luck comes to those who endeavor,” she responded smartly.

Anastasia rolled her eyes. “Want to station yourself at the bar?” she asked.

“Oh, yes. I need a drink before my man arrives.”

The venue was casual with a relaxing bar and a dance bar that some of the employees were already on. Most of the single male and female employees like to make their rounds of the room, searching for someone they could hook up with in the company. Some people left it at one–night stands, too. Those were the most awkward the first week after the annual party.

Wynne and Ana sat at the bar, with each of them holding a holding.

“Who are you going to snatch tonight?” Wynne asked, glancing around the room.

“I have no intention of going home with anyone else. I am going home alone.”

Wynne whined. “Come on. You never know what might come from it. High time you pop your cherry.”

*Keep your voice down. I don’t want the whole company to know how uneventful my life is,” Ana hissed.

They chatted for a bit until James came around the corner and nudged Wynne. She turned quickly and giggled when he winked at her. There was no stopping them from going to the dance floor. James was a smooth dancer and Wynne was equally skillful.

She finished her drink and ordered another. During the wait, she glanced to her side and saw him‘ sitting on his own at the far end of the bar. She turned away, not wanting to ogle Damien Wright. She didn’t want to get called out for her behavior… especially not at a party.

Someone took the seat Wynne had been on and Ana turned her body slightly so that they couldn’t start a conversation. She didn’t want to pick up a guy and even the smallest eye contact could make a man think a woman was interested in them.

“I will have what she is having,” a smooth voice said from beside her. It was familiar, but through the loud music, she couldn’t be sure.

Anastasia kept her eyes on the dancing couples while the bartender prepared their drink. Ana sipped on hers and enjoyed

the silence.

“So, I expect you are having a good night?”

Ana nodded, keeping her eyes trained ahead in an effort to dissuade the man. She continued to ignore him and concentrated on her drink. The guy didn’t move away, not taking the hint..

“The dress looks lovely on you.”

She should have just walked away but she didn’t want him trailing after her. The man needed to be knocked down from the high horse he was on and realize she wasn’t interested.

“Listen here, pal.” She turned angrily to him.

The words died on her lips. She was face to face with a painfully gorgeous man with flaming red hair and grey eyes. The man towered over her and was just as confident as he was in his conference room. Just, his demeanor was more laid back in that instance. Her eyes dropped down to Damien Wright’s lips, perfectly shaped and smirking at her.

Seeing her stare, his lips curved up, crooked on one side.
