Bound by the CEO’s Baby By Sun Scar Chapter 35

Chapter 35

Alan and Damien took off running in the opposite direction. Ana composed herself before joining them. Alan was ecstatic to have two people chasing him around. They cornered him and he screamed and giggled before dodging through Darmien’s legs

Damien could have easily caught him, but he faked a growl and turned to chase him again. Eventually, Alan begged Damien to push him on the swing. Ana watched and Alan rose higher and higher in the air

Damien,Ana called out nervously. Maybe you shouldn’t-

Damien turned his head, unable to hear

Everything happened in slow motion. On the swing, at the highest point, Alan’s grip slipped and he started falling. Ana had always imagined that her body would react naturally when something like that happened to her child. That she would run and dive and catch him before he could hurt himself. Instead, she remained frozen

She gasped and ready to scream. Ana was sure Alan would hit the ground and break his skull open. But he didn’t. Damien’s arms shot out, wrapped around Alan’s small body, and pulled him tightly against his chest. The two of them crumbled to the ground

Fuck!Ana cried out, her legs finally moving. She bolted to them and Alan was already wailing. Damien was sitting on the ground, his arms still tightly wound around his son. His face was pale and his face only held shock and fear

Ana knelt to her knees and pulled Alan from Damien’s arms. But his grip was too tight. She had to wrap her arms around them both

I’m sorry. I’m sorryDamien chanted

Ana couldn’t speak. Her check rested against Alan’s head and waited for his cries to trail off, leaving only sniffles. Ana didn’t yell at Damien; she didn’t need to. The look of absolute fear on his face assured Ana that he knew what had happened and why

It’s time for us to go.” Ana whispered. They hadn’t been at the park for two hours, but Alan’s eyes were dropping as he rested his head against Damien’s chest

Damien followed them to the car, carrying Alan who was still not letting him go. Damien set him in the car seat and spoke quietly. Ana couldn’t hear what he was saying but Alan nodded his head. Damien ruffled his hair and then shut the door

He hesitated before facing her. Just scream at me. I know you want to,” he said, looking devastated

Ana slipped her hand into Damien’s. He jumped and his eyes zeroed in on where she was touching him. She squeezed

Last year, Mom and dad took Alan to the beach for the first time. They let him play on the beach and Alan touched a jellyfish.”

Damien looked at her incredulously

A few months ago, Marcus was babysitting. He wasn’t paying attention and Alan climbed to the edge of the kitchen counter and fell. He hit his head and we had to rush him to the hospital for a broken tooth and concussion.”

Why are you telling me all this?Damien asked

Because we make mistakes while raising children. I am guilty of it, too. When Alan was a baby, I left him on the bed and his head banged into the desk. It is a learning experience. Yes, Alan got scared, but he will get over it. I guarantee that next time he comes to the park, he will beg you to push him high again.”

Not happening.” Damien said firmly

Ana smiled. See? Learning from experience.”

Chapter 35

Damien shifted and tined their fingers together. He leaned into her and kissed her softly on the cheek. Thank you,” he whispered

His warm breath fanned over her, making her melt. It was a sweet and gentle gesture. A little too soon, he pulled back and let go of her hand. He knocked on the window and waved to Alan before walking back to his own car

I’ll see you tomorrow?he questioned

Ana nodded. Your parents want to meet Alan. Carl called me.. And my parents haven’t been out on a date in forever.”

Damien nodded. He must have known the plans. I’ll see you tomorrow then.”

True to her words, Ana ended up on the Wrightsdoorstep on Sunday evening with an overnight bag in hand. Dianna insisted they stay over. Alan and Ana would be staying in the guest room while Damien took his childhood room. Dianna wanted to get to know Ana and Alan. She just hadn’t known alcohol would be involved at some point

Carl said he would take the baby monitor from her and if he woke up, he would take care of Alan. It was moments like those where Ana realized what her life could have been like if she had been honest. Even if Damien hadn’t accepted it, his parents would have helped her

Ana pushed the thought aside and watched as Carl and Damien tried to teach Alan some games. Around eight, Carl took a sleepy little Alan upstairs, not before Alan gave everyone goodnight kisses

Why aren’t you taking him, Damien?Dianna asked abruptly when Carl disappeared

Damien looked startled. What do you mean, mom?”

He is your kid. Shouldn’t you be the one with the baby monitor?”

Ana interjected immediately. Mrs. Wright, I want to do this. It’s fine.”

The older woman shrugged. I’m only asking. It’s just that all you have done is play with him. Damien, you do realize that being a parent is actually taking care of the child, right?”

Dianne-

MomI am trying,” Damien snapped

No, it feels like you

are going to bail on your child…. and I am not letting it happen.”

I won’t bail,Damien gritted out

You bailed on Anastasia, didn’t you?”

Ana shot up from her seat and went out. She slid out to the patio door and sat down on one of the loveseats

It was peaceful and chilly. She curled up and wrapped her arms around herself. The door opened and she figured Dianna would come afer her. Instead, she heard someone else

Can I sit down?Damien asked
