Born To Rule

Chapter 7:

Later that night

In Accalia’s head: I shouldn't have drunk all that water before bed. Where the hell is the bathroom again? (in the hallway). Did the pack house always look this dark and gloomy? Which way? Who put a brick wall on my way?! A brick wall with chiseled abs…? Definitely not a brick wall.

Accalia: “Sorry about that. I’m Accalia, nice to meet you. Look, if you're gonna kill me, then just make it quick.”

Amara: “Hey guys.”

Accalia: “AMARA!! Save me from the psycho.”

Amara: “Hey, Lakota.”

Accalia: “You mean you actually know him?”

Amara: “Of course. Lakota is part of the pack.”

Accalia: “I guess it's too late for an apology?”

Amara: “Accalia, save your breath. Lakota doesn't talk.”

Accalia: “Like ever?”

Amara: “Not since I've known him.”

In Accalia’s head: Interesting.

Accalia: “That reminds me…what time is it?”

Amara: “It's 5:00 in the morning.”

Accalia: “And everyone is up because?”

Amara: “This is a time we usually get up.”

Accalia: “You sick people.”

Amara: “You'll get used to it. Since you're here, have you seen Kai? He should be up by now.”

Accalia: “No. (Kai's dream)”

Amara: “Kai?! Kai, where are you?!”

Kai The Magnificent: “Here I am, my love.”

Amara: “What took you so long, my love?”

Kai The Magnificent: “Are you ready for me?”

Amara: “Take me, my stud muffin. (present time Kai’s room). Kai? KAI!! Good morning, sleeping beauty. Having a nice dream where we?”

Kai: “You have no idea.”

Amara: “Breakfast, now.”

Kai: “I love it when you're bossy.”

Amara: “Oh, and Kai? You might wanna change out of those boxers.”

In Kai’s head: Uncalled for. (in the living room)

Accalia: “Thanks for breakfast, luna Rosa. But are you sure you don't need help cleaning up?”

Rose: “Thank you, but no. As luna, it's my responsibility to look after all you adolescents. Perhaps when you're luna, you can help then.”

Amara: “Don't go scaring her away, Luna.”

Accalia: “So, where are the other pack members?”

Amara: “This is everyone.”

Accalia: “Really?! But there's only five of you.”

Rose: “Accalia, let me tell you a story. It all started long ago when me and Malik’s father first met. The moment we locked eyes, we knew that we were destined to be together. However, my parents, who were our leaders, didn't approve of Malik’s father as my mate. I had to choose between him and my family. In the end, I chose my mate. Malik’s father never spoke about his pack but I never questioned him on the subject. We traveled for years looking for a territory of our own and that's when we found this place. It was everything and more. Some locals from the nearby town even helped us to build this house from scratch. Of course they never knew of our true identity even though I'm certain they had their suspicions.”

Accalia: “How did you provide for yourself when you became cut off from your pack?”

Rose: “Being werewolves gave us advantages to live off the land for most of our necessities. but the pair of us would still jump between jobs provided by the town to earn a living and live in peace. I know not all werewolves choose to integrate with humans, but I for one, don't see anything wrong with it.”

Accalia: “I respect that a lot. So how were the others brought into your pack?”

Rose: “Over time, we welcomed rogue or abandoned pups into our pack. Lakota came to us first, both him and Malik grew up together more like brothers, which was helpful since Malik has no blood siblings. Amara didn't join the pack till she was a teenager.”

Amara: “Let's just say that I'm better off without my old pack.”

Rose: “Last but certainly not least, we welcomed Kai in the pack.”

Accalia: “Thank you for sharing this amazing story with me. I do have one more question.”

Rose: “What's that?”

Accalia: “Where’s Malik’s father?”

Rose: “One night, he just didn't…come home.”

Amara: “Anyway, Accalia. What's your story?”

Accalia: “Oh, um...I was banished from my pack.”

Rose: “I'm sorry, dear. You're more than welcome to stay with us until you figure things out. Everyone seems to love you already.”

Accalia: “Not everyone.”

Rose: “If you're referring to Malik, then just give him time. He's a very reserved individual and likes to keep to himself. He spends a lot of time alone. Maybe he needs the right wolf to change that.”

Amara: “Since you're staying, why don't we celebrate? How does clubbing sound?!”

Accalia: “For real?! Yes!!”

Amara: “Calm down, Accalia. Anyone would think that you haven't been out before. Oh.”

Kai: “Good one.”

Amara: “Anyway, as I was saying…let's head to town and pick up some new clothes. It's a chance for me to show you around.”

Accalia: “But I don't have any mon…”

Rose: “Accalia, I don't wanna hear another word about money. Now go out and have fun. Do you understand me?!”

Accalia: “Yes, luna.”

In Rose’s head: Yep, we still got it ol’ girl.”

Rose’s Wolf: “Damn right we do head.”

In Accalia’s head: Time to explore. After about a twenty minute walk, we made it to Aston Lake Town. It was a cute little town, full of charm and character. The town seemed fast-paced, quirky and teeming with life. True to her word, Amara bought me a whole new wardrobe. There isn't enough words to express my gratitude. She really had a way of distracting my mind to keep the negative thoughts at bay. I had found another genuine friendship. However, spending my time with another she wolf made me feel guilty. I missed Milena so much. The day was drawing to an end. And on that note, we decided to call it a day and head back home. It was already dusk by the time myself and Amara had finally arrived home. We were leaving to go clubbing in a few hours so I did the most sensible thing. I went to sleep. Five minutes won't hurt. (two hours later). ew, I drooled on myself. What was that?! (in the hallway). Here we go again. That doesn't seem to be anyone around. What’s that incredible smell? Like burning oak and vanilla all wrapped into one. Well hello back muscles. My eyes have been blessed. Should I have one more peek? Duh, is that even a question? Where the hell did he go?! Before I could think, my feet were moving.

Accalia: “Malik, are you here?”

In Accalia’s head: I shouldn't be here, I should leave. Before I processed what was going on, Malik had took hold of both of my hands and firmly pressed me against the wall. Forcing me to look straight into his eyes. Our lips only inches apart.

Accalia: “Malik, what are you doing?”

Malik: “Didn't anyone ever tell you that it's rude to sneak into someone else's room?”

Accalia: “For your information, I wasn't sneaking.”

Malik: “Oh really? Then please, enlighten me.”

Accalia: “I-I…”

In Accalia’s head: The truth was, I don't know why I came into Malik’s room. It felt like there was an invisible force, pulling me in. Could it be that scent? Or my undeniable attraction to him. Reality set in when I realized how close our batteries were. Malik used one hand to keep a firm grip around my waist while the other pinned both my hands high above my head effortlessly lifting me off the ground. My cheeks began to flush while the sound of my heartbeat echoed throughout my ears. My gaze shifted from his face, to his body. I didn't think anyone could be this perfect. The muscles, the tattoos. He was flawless. It's like I had swallowed a pill of pure ecstasy. One touch…one touch was all it took and I was undeniably addicted.

Malik: “Whose shirt are you wearing?”

Accalia: “Why? Are you jealous?”

In Malik’s head: I couldn't answer her without sounding insane. Was I jealous? I had no right, she wasn't mine to claim…yet the thought of her being mated to someone else drove me insane. I've been angry before, but this was a new feeling. I've never seen a creature so perfect. It took all of my strength to stop Noctis, from marking her right here. Her scent was so intoxicating that I felt light-headed. I could sense how nervous I made her and that only made me desire her more. I knew from this moment on, I had made a grave mistake. Accalia was my new craving. I’d never be able to satisfy my fix. I would keep wanting her more and more.

In Accalia’s head: Neither of us spoke a word. The outside world seemed to gradually slip away. I was in a state of utter lust and euphoria. However, reality soon came crashing down knocking on the air from within my lungs. I don't know if this wolf is my mate. What am I doing?! (Accalia runs). What the hell was that?!
