Chapter Chapter Twenty-Four
I stood in the middle of the closet and called out. "I need help." R wouldn't budge until he had lapped up every last drop of Selena's blood.
When his tongue had savored the last drop, he followed the trail that led to the closet. He followed unquestioningly, like a loyal dog.
He followed the trail all the way to my wrist. I could feel his warm tongue frantically across my skin, searching for more. He was unraveling at the seams.
"Take it." I offered. I laid my hand on his disheveled hair.
His bite came crushing down on my wrist. Pain overcame me, which wasn't like him. "You're hurting me." I yelped as he began to tug at the skin. He was pulling muscles and tendons from the bone. "Lee! He's hurting me!" I called out. R's bite was burning my skin. I grabbed a handful of his hair to try and pull him off of me.
"We're coming!" Martin yelled, running towards us with rope in tow.
I kissed R on the head, "I'm so sorry."
It took all of Dee and Martin's strength to pry R's fangs from my wrist. It took all three of them to wrestle R to the floor, long enough for them to tie him up and knock him unconscious.
"How are you doing over there?!" Dee had called to me. I had to wrap a towel around my wrist to stop the bleeding.
"I'm good." I lied.
Martin and Lee got up. Took one big breath before hauling R's body out of the kitchen. Dee came over to me and pulled back the towel to see that R's bite hadn't slowed. "Ah, he's gonna hate me." He said under his breath. "Just hold still."
I pulled my wrist back in disbelief when I saw Dee lean over my wrist, "Wait what?"
He sighed, "I have to stop the bleeding. R can kill me later." Without hesitation, Dee leaned in and put his lips over R's bite. Instantly, I could feel the burning dissipate, but the fact it was Dee, still made it awkward.
I looked away, "Uh, thanks." When I heard Dee get up, I looked down at my wrist to see that it was fully healed. "Wow, that's amazing. Can all of you do that?" I stood up.
"Alright, let's get you to your dorm so you can sleep. I'll get you when R wakes up." Dee wiped blood off of his mouth.
That night, after Dee had brought me back to the dorms, I had fallen asleep rather quickly. I thought it was odd. I had wild and vivid dreams. All of them included R. They were R with other people, none I had ever seen before. Snippets of conversations between him and a woman.
Before I could learn the name of the woman, Dee had woken me up, "He's awake."
"What time is it?" I felt like I had slept at all.
"It's five-thirty in the morning." Dee flashed me his watch.
I pulled myself out of bed. My feet dragged underneath me as Dee led me through a panel in one of the walls. It led to a dim room with a cage in the middle. R had been tied to a chair in the middle.
"Why have you bound me to a chair Deacon?" R roared with pure rage. I was taken back that he had spoke out loud to someone other than me. "Release me!"
"Reginald, please. You are not yourself." Dee tried to reason.
"I am as I should be." R growled. His face was dark and his fangs had appeared.
Dee sighed, "As I thought." It sounded like he had said it to himself. He flipped a switch, which caused a machine to kick on.
The machine had begun slowly pulling blood from R, and draining into a small bowl. R thrashed about, trying to free himself.
"Don't fight it. We need you." Martin had hidden himself in a corner. "We're not going to kill you."
"We are all here for you." Lee joined in.
"Ah, so all my friends are here to kill me." R growled. "The infamous Sir Martine De Leon and Samurai Leyasu. How good to see you both."
"Why are we using our old names? That's no fair!" Martin whined.
"Quiet!" Dee barked. "This bickering is over. R we need you to your old self, for the sake of your true bond with your beloved." Dee stepped into the cage, staying close to the edges.
"I have no beloved." R's voice dropped. "She is no longer with us."
"Your bond with Christi." Dee corrected.
"I'm right here." I spoke up. I walked closer to the cage.
R laughed. "A human?!" He had finally broke free of the restraints. "If you are my beloved, prove it. Come to me." He held his arms out to me.
Dee shook his head and so did the other two. In my head, I agreed it wasn't a good idea. My heart had a different idea. I mouthed to Dee to trust me.
Can you hear me?
I called out to R. I stepped into the cage. He stood there watching my every move.
And you are brave for coming this far when I can easily rip your throat.
He threatened. He really had no idea who I was.
Please, remember.
Even with us talking back and forth, I could still feel him in my head as we talked. His warm vibrations coursing through my body.
"Christi, don't get too close!" Dee shouted. It was too late.
I had walked right into his arms. He had taken me in so willingly and wrapped his arms around me. His bare skin laid perfectly me. I reached up to kiss him.
Come back to me.
I hummed back to him as we kissed. My shoulder, where he had bitten me had begun to tingle. Sending waves of pleasure over my body.
One small kiss was not going to win him over. I grabbed his face and pulled him back into me, I wanted more. I wanted every last drop of him.
