Chapter 52
When Vanessa started jogging, her shadow fell behind her.
Ben was shocked and immediately stopped the car.
William got out of the car and looked at Vanessa with a gentle expression. “Why are you running?”
Although William had asked that question. he was obviously happy
Vanessa was running towards him!
William immediately took the various bags Vanessa was carrying on her arm and brushed a strand of hair from her forehead, touching her hand. “Didn’t I tell you to wait inside? Why did you come out? Are you cold?”
Vanessa shook her head. I’m not cold.”
Vanessa saw the concern in William’s eyes, as well as her own slightly disheveled appearance.
“Hurry and get in the car. It’s warm in the car” William reached out and took Vanessa’s hand.
Vanessa’s fingers closed around William’s hand.
William had given her warmth and Vanessa wanted to hold on to it.
Suddenly Vanessa wasn’t afraid. Rather than struggling with the pain of her past, it was better to try a new beginning.
At worst, Vanessa would just be hurt again.
What was there to be afraid of? It wasn’t like she hadn’t been hurt before.
Vanessa clenched William’s hand tightly.
William felt that something was wrong. He turned and saw Elena walking towards a Maserati in high heels. Elena even turned her head to look over at them.
A wealthy lady in the back of the car also looked over from the window.
William glanced at them before retracting his gaze and helping Vanessa into the car.
“Do you know them?” After getting into the car, William asked Vanessa with concern.
Vanessa nodded. “Yes. We were university classmates and used to be friends for a while but after that…”
There was a shift in Vanessa’s demeanor, and William put his index finger to her lips. “Alright, let’s not think about unhappy memories which make you uncomfortable. We only live once, so we have to try our best to make ourselves happy. Throw away all the people and things that are unsuitable for us.”
Vanessa’s heart trembled, and her nose began to sting again.
William could really comfort and warm her every time.
Yes, Vanessa had already persuaded herself to throw it all away.
Rationality was one thing, but feelings were another.
Vanessa had already forgotten most of it, but Jackson’s rude and cold commanding tone had rekindled those feelings in her heart again
What right did Jackson have to bully her like this? Back then, he had not even given her a chance to explain.
If they had to break up, that was fine. Vanessa had already accepted everything, but what right did Jackson have to order her
around?
“Thave something to show you later.” William held Vanessa’s hand and instructed Ben, “Go back to Lilyville.”
William had wanted to bring Vanessa back to Highland Villa. He had already arranged for roses to be laid in the living room. However, seeing that Vanessa wasn’t in a good mood, William changed his mind at the last minute, and they headed to Lilyville instead.
William understood Vanessa. She was delicate, sensitive, and careful.
Vanessa wanted to be evenly matched with him and was afraid of the financial gap between them.
William would accommodate her and stay with her at Lilyville.
Elena got into the car and unhappily instructed the driver to go.
Elena had thought that even if Vanessa married into a wealthy family, it would only be a small wealthy family, and her husband would be ugly, bald, fat, short, and ugly.
Otherwise, why would anyone choose a poor person like Vanessa?
Chapter 52
Moreover, with Vanessa’s status, she couldn’t be as lucky as she was back then to meet a rich second–generation heir.
However, not only did Vanessa’s husband own a Bentley, but his facial features were also well–defined. His figure was perfect, and his temperament was outstanding.
He was completely comparable to Jackson. This bitch, Vanessa, was really lucky.
All of a sudden. Elena remembered something.
Wasn’t he the man who Vanessa had linked arms with at the previous cocktail party?
At that time. Elena thought Vanessa had just found an opportunity to attend the cocktail party. Elena had not expected that the person accompanying Vanessa was her husband.
Sarah was also frowning. Seeing Elena get into the car, Sarah asked, “Have you seen that man before?”
Not many people drove 4 million dollar Bentleys around, regardless of which city they were from.
“Yes, I saw him at the last cocktail party.”
“Which family is he from?” Sarah immediately asked.
“I don’t know,” Elena said.
How would she know?
It wasn’t that Elena hadn’t wanted to find out.
However, during the party that day, Jackson could not help looking in Vanessa’s direction, and Elena was afraid that Jackson would be seduced by Vanessa again, so Elena tried all sorts of ways to drag Jackson elsewhere.
Later on, Jackson left the banquet hall unhappily and returned to the office to work.
After Jackson left, Elena had no longer been in the mood.
In addition, Elena had been so focused on arranging for someone to destroy Vanessa that day that she had completely forgotten to ask about the person next to Vanessa.
Sarah was a little dissatisfied. “You’ve already seen him yet you didn’t find out more? Elena, you have to be helpful to Jackson. Jackson is here to expand his career, so you must befriend more powerful people. That’s how you can help him.”
“I understand, Sarah.” Elena immediately answered and added, “I’ve also contacted the heads of a few jewelry companies in Lantric City. In addition, I signed up for the Emerald Cup Competition and will strive to get a good ranking to increase our brand’s reputation. It will help to get to know some jewelry dealers and designers.”
“Okay.” Sarah replied with some satisfaction. Saralı looked at Elena’s stomach and said, “It’s about time.”
“Sarah. I… it’s just that Jackson is busy.” Elena was extremely annoyed.
How could she have a child all on her own?
Elena was too embarrassed o tell Sarah that Jackson had never touched her once.
Before they married, Elena had taken the initiative several times, and Jackson had told her to have some self–respect, saying they were not married yet.
After getting married, Jackson had been busy every day and treated her indifferently.
“I know. I’m here, aren’t I? It’s Jackson’s birthday the day after tomorrow. I’ll take care of it,” Sarah said.
“Okay.” Elena immediately agreed obediently.
Sarah felt much better.
Sarah reminded Elena again, “Dress up nicely for Jackson’s birthday. I’ll ask Jackson later if he wants to invite his friends. It’s best if he doesn’t, then we’ll celebrate among ourselves.”
“Okay, I’ll let you decide”
The car drove from Tranquil Restaurant to Lilyville. Vanessa held William’s hand as she looked at the scenery outside the window. Vanessa was already in a better mood.
After getting out of the car, Vanessa took the initiative to ask William, “What do you want to show me?”
“You’ll find out in a while,” William said with a mysterious smile.
“Why don’t I make a guess?” Vanessa always felt better seeing William’s smile.
“Sure.”
“Give me a hint.” Vanessa was amused by William’s proud look.
“It’s very sacred,” William prompted.
Chapter 52
Vanessa looked at the bags in William’s hand. A few of them were hers, and one was William’s. There was a square box inside, about the size of a B5 book.
Very sacred?
“A wedding dress?” Vanessa guessed.
“No, guess again William entered the passcode and opened the door.
“Give me another hint,” Vanessa said
William pointed at his face. “One kiss per hint
