Chapter 50
Madison was happy to let Sarah stay.
Since Sarah wanted another slap in the face, Madison would be happy to deliver.
Some people thought too highly of themselves. They were arrogant and wanted to bully everyone.
It was a good opportunity for Sarah to experience what it felt like to realize that she had bullied the wrong people.
The other waiter immediately went to get the
manager.
In less than two minutes, the manager came over.
The manager’s face was full of enthusiasm. “Distinguished guests.”
The waiter had roughly explained the situation to the manager on the way. Two groups of guests did not get along and were fighting for the last private room. The second group had specified that they wanted room number 1111.
When the manager heard this, she was afraid they would cause a scene, so she immediately came over.
Those who ran a business valued peace.
This manager had worked at Tranquil Restaurant for more than three years and recognized Madison at a glance,
The manager immediately became even more polite and respectful, her face full of smiles. “Mrs. Hawk, you’re here. Please,
come in!”
The manager immediately instructed the waiter, “Go turn on the air conditioning in IIII.”
Mrs. Hawk was their boss‘ mother.
With a smile on her face, Madison glanced at Sarah and said to the manager, “This is my daughter–in–law, Vanessa. You may address her as Ms. Vanessa.”
“Yes, yes. the manager immediately replied.
“Vanessa, let’s go to the private room.” Madison held Vanessa’s hand with a smile.
Sarah was speechless.
What was going on?
Had she been slapped in the face again?
They’d been told there was only one private room left, and Sarah had clearly fought for the last private room, but now, Vanessa was being invited to a luxurious private room.
How infuriating!
Sarah’s lungs felt as if they were exploding.
Sarah’s heart felt stifled and a rage was burning within her.
Madison held onto Vanessa’s arm and walked forward as she said, “Vanessa, Room 1111 is a private room that we have a long–term reservation for. In the future, if you want to come to eat or bring your friends here, just use Room IIII.”
Sarah was surprised and her expression darkened.
This woman had done this deliberately.
Madison had a long–term reservation for a private room but pretended to play along with her and tricked her!
How infuriating
Sarah had not heard clearly how they had addressed Madison, either.
Sarah wondered which family owned this restaurant.
Then, Sarah heard Madison say to Vanessa, again. “Vanessa, do you know why we reserved 1111 instead of 9999?”
“Why?” Vanessa asked curiously.
Madison immediately raised her voice and said, “There are two meanings. The first meaning is to finish what you need to do, from the start to the end. The second meaning is that a higher number is to be respected. To us, our guests are the most important. Although we have money, we can’t be like some people and be arrogant just because we are rich…”
Madison deliberately slowed down so that Sarah could hear her.
Sarah was fuming. Her face was so dark that it was almost icy.
“Sarah, let’s go into the private room.” Elena whispered.
Chapter 50
They had lost again. Elena was also angry!
However, standing here would only make things worse.
Sarah was holding back her anger and had nowhere to vent it. When Elena spoke, Sarah exploded. “What private room? Is this the only restaurant in Lantrie City? Let’s eat somewhere else. This lousy restaurant is crowded, so I thought it was a nice place, but it’s like a market.”
Since Sarah already knew that it was Vanessa’s in–laws‘ business, how could she still stay to eat?
Elena also reacted and immediately said, “Yes, it’s crowded and messy. Sarah, let’s go somewhere else.”
The two of them left the restaurant in a hurry.
As soon as they left the restaurant, Elena was so angry that she called Vanessa.
However, it was an invalid number.
Was Vanessa afraid? Had Vanessa blocked her?
Madison was already in Room III with Vanessa.
Madison passed the menu to Vanessa. “Here, Vanessa. take a look at what you want to eat.”
“Madison, it’s better if you order. I’m fine with anything. Vanessa said politely.
“Then I’ll order.” Madison smiled warmly. She ordered a few dishes, three meats, two salads, and a soup.
Madison had learned that Vanessa had grown up in Estain City and had only come to Lantric City a few years ago.
Estain City and Lantric City were more than 300 kilometers apart and had roughly the same style of food, but Estain City’s dishes were slightly blander.
Madison specially instructed the manager. “Tell the kitchen to make it blander.”
“Yes, Mrs. Hawk.” The manager took the menu from Madison personally and left.
While waiting for the dishes, Madison took the initiative to chat with Vanessa.
Afraid that Vanessa would be sensitive, Madison did not ask about Vanessa’s job or her income. Instead, Madison spoke with Vanessa about her father. “Vanessa, don’t worry too much about your father. Keith Cooper will treat him personally, and your father will recover. Although Keith is young, traditional medicine was passed down in his family. He also studied. modern medicine. He’s smart and perceptive. He’s in his twenties but already better than many experienced doctors.”
“Yes, Dr. Cooper is very capable.” Vanessa was filled with gratitude at the mention of Keith.
Madison smiled and said, “Also, as they say, when someone is happy, illnesses will disappear too. The best thing for an elder is to see the younger generation doing well. If your father sees you and William doing well and your brother doing well, his mood will improve, and he will recover.”
Vanessa and Tracy were very
different.
Vanessa was appreciative and thankful to everyone.
Tracy was disdainful and looked down on William’s friends, who were not rich.
Madison and William shared the same thoughts. One should have a wide circle of friends. They could be friends with anyone as long as they had a good character.
“Yes, everything will be fine.” Vanessa’s gaze was firm.
Madison smiled and said. “Yes, I heard your brother can activate his cochlear implants next week. Once your brother speaks, your father will recover even faster.”
“Yes” Vanessa could not help but be so excited that her eyes had turned misty.
Vanessa was also looking forward to her brother speaking. She was looking forward to hearing her brother say her father’s name, her name, and everyone else around him.
When Madison saw Vanessa like this, she felt a little heartache. Madison reached out to take Vanessa’s hand and patted the back of Vanessa’s hand. Madison said, “Vanessa, the kind won’t be treated unfairly.”
At this moment, the manager personally came with a waiter to serve the dishes.
Madison immediately called out to Vanessa, “Here, let’s eat. I didn’t order much, so let’s try to finish everything”
Madison picked up a hot towel and wiped her hands. Then, Madison picked up her fork and put a chicken drumstick onto Vanessa’s plate.
“Thank you, Madison. You should eat as well.” Vanessa immediately took some food to put onto Madison’s plate as well
“Alright.” Madison was all smiles.
Chapter 50
After dinner, Madison asked for Vanessa’s opinion. “Vanessa, let’s shop again next time. Are you going back to the office or the hospital? Or somewhere else? I’ll ask the driver to drop you off.”
Madison was free every day but felt that Vanessa must be busy. She had to work and take care of her father and brother. Anyway, they were family now. There would be plenty of time to shop together in the future.
Vanessa immediately said, “Madison, there’s no need to drop me off. This place is not far from the hospital. I can walk over.” Then we’ll go to the hospital. I’ll get the driver to send you. Let’s go.” Madison held Vanessa’s arm.
Vanessa’s phone rang at this moment.
It was William.
Madison saw it immediately, smiling as she said. “Hurry up and answer it.”
When Vanessa answered the call, Madison stood off to the side, siniling
Madison had been through this before too. Of course, she understood. William and Vanessa had gotten married after a blind date. They didn’t have a deep or strong relationship, so they would have to nurture it.
“William.” Vanessa answered.
“Did you have fun shopping with Mom?” William’s gentle voice came from the other end of the line.
