Chapter 28
The nurse said the patient had vomited blood again. When Vanessa heard that her father had vomited blood, she was extremely anxious, wishing she had wings so that she could immediately fly to the hospital.
However, William was now drunk. Seeing him like this, Vanessa was worried. She looked at William, whose eyes were even redder than before. His teeth were clenched, and sweat was on his forehead.
Tracy gently persuaded, “William, come, drink the ginger tea. You’ll feel better after drinking it.”
“Get lost!” William pushed Tracy away. He sat on the sofa, gasping for breath.
Tracy immediately sat down beside him and supported him, saying, “William, why don’t you lie down and rest on the bed for a while?” She intentionally leaned against him.
Seeing that Vanessa was still there, she smiled kindly and considerately said to her, “Ms. Sanchez, do you have something important to do? Don’t worry. I will take good care of William.”
Vanessa happened to see Tracy leaning against William and saw the pained expression on his face.
Vanessa squinted suddenly. William’s condition at this moment didn’t seem like being drunk, but rather like he had eaten something he shouldn’t have.
Thinking of a certain possibility, Vanessa immediately glanced at the phone number, which was an unfamiliar one.
Normally, nurses of hospitals would call from landlines.
Vanessa felt something was wrong and immediately sent a message to her brother on WhatsApp. [Danny, how is Dad?]
Danny quickly replied, [Dad is fine. He’s sleeping now.]
Vanessa replied again. [Danny, don’t lie to me, okay?]
The phone vibrated, and Danny sent a picture.
It showed that her father was receiving an IV drip and sleeping peacefully.
Vanessa looked at the tidy bedding. If her father really vomited blood, there would definitely be doctors in the ward, and Danny wouldn’t be so calm either. She was sure that this was a conspiracy, a conspiracy against William. Something had been added to his drink. And now Tracy was trying to distract her with a fake phone call from the hospital…
“Honey…” William looked over with a hint of helplessness in his bloodshot eyes. The look in his eyes made Vanessa’s heart tighten. She immediately ran over, reaching out to support William.
“Let me help you to the room.”
Even if Vanessa eventually exited William’s life, now was not the right time to leave him.
A woman like Tracy was not worthy of William. To be exact, she was not even worthy of a little love of his.
William leaned against Vanessa.
Vanessa firmly said to Tracy, “Ms. Yost, we need to rest, so please leave.”
“But what about the ginger tea?” Tracy was frustrated. “Vanessa,” she thought, “you’re such a ruthless woman. You didn’t even go to see your dying father. Indeed, people are always greedy. But of course, William is so wealthy. Who wouldn’t want to
get him? What’s the importance of your father anyway, right? Since he’s almost dead”
“Ms. Yost, just leave it here. I will take care of my husband. It’s inappropriate for you to be here at this late hour, right?”
Vanessa retorted.
Tracy still wanted to say something.
Vanessa said, Ms. Yost, please leave, and remember to close the door. Thank you.”
Tracy was not willing to give up. She held the cup of ginger tea and said, “I won’t leave before William drinks it.”
“If you refuse to leave, I will call security,” Vanessa said without hesitation.
“What? Vanessa, you gotta remember that William is my boyfriend.”
“Then I’ll call the media. I happened to bring the marriage license with me today,” Vanessa said as she prepared to make a phone call.
“You!” Tracy was so angry that she wanted to tear Vanessa to pieces. Seeing William’s hand tightly holding Vanessa’s waist
made her even more anxious.
She just couldn’t leave. If she left, it would only help Vanessa get closer to William.
Tracy picked up her bag and deliberately bumped into Vanessa. She then grabbed William and pushed him into the room, wanting to lock Vanessa in the suite’s living room.

Suddenly, the doorbell rang.
Vanessa hurriedly went to open the door.
Keith came. He was dressed in motorcycle gear and looked energetic.
When he saw Tracy supporting William and preparing to close the door, his face fell. He immediately said to Vanessa, “Vanessa, help William sit on the sofa. I’ll give him a few shots.”
“No need. He just needs to drink the ginger tea. Tracy knew that Keith was a skilled doctor and was afraid he would interfere with William’s drug–induced state.
However, Tracy didn’t dare close the door either. She knew well what kind of person Keith was. If she dared to close the door, he would definitely kick it open
Vanessa walked over and supported William. Tracy tried to grab him as well, resulting in both of them holding onto one of William’s arms.
Keith walked over and pushed Tracy out of the way with his elbow.
“Ouch… Tracy stumbled backward from the impact. If she hadn’t quickly grabbed onto the door frame, she would have twisted her ankle. That was why she hated William’s friends so much. In her opinion, they were all uncultured and rude.
Soon, Vanessa helped William onto the sofa.
Sweat dripped down William’s forehead, and his bloodshot eyes were fixed on Keith. William gritted his teeth and said, “Just give me the shot.”
Keith took out a silver needle and looked at Tracy without politeness. “Ms. Yost, I’m going to give him the shot now. Are you coming over to learn it from me?”
“Don’t worry. I’m not studying medicine. I won’t steal your techniques, Tracy said lightly.
Implicitly, she was saying. “Do you think doctors are so great? In my opinion, you’re nothing special.”
Keith sarcastically replied, “Oh, if you’re not trying to learn it from me, then why are you still here? Are you planning to watch them sleep later?”
“Fine! I’m leaving!” Tracy couldn’t stay any longer. Clutching her handbag, she left in a hurry. However, before leaving, she glanced at William again. She was really unwilling to leave him.
However, Tracy knew what a cold man William was. He definitely wouldn’t touch Vanessa.
Tracy knew William well. He had a sense of integrity and wouldn’t touch““““” he didn’t love.
But then again, even William did, Tracy wouldn’t mind. She was only frustrated because it was her own mistake that Vanessa got a chance to get close to William.
After Tracy left, Keith gave William the shot.
Vanessa looked around and saw a water dispenser. She poured a glass of water for Keith. She then went to get a towel and wiped the sweat off William’s forehead. She asked Keith, “Dr. Cooper, he is more than just drunk, isn’t he?”
“Yeah, he was drugged with some low–grade stuff. He’s feeling extremely uncomfortable. He can only be detoxified after you two… You know what I’m saying, right?” Keith gave William two shots. He wouldn’t detoxify him easily. After all, this was such a rare opportunity. Just giving him a couple of shots was enough. He would rather bear the name of being an incompetent doctor.
Soon, Vanessa and William would be in a passionate relationship, and sleeping together would deepen their bond.
“Who knows, Keith murmured inwardly. “They might even have a child for this.”
Vanessa blushed and didn’t dare ask further when she heard that the only way of detoxifying William was….
She realized that doctors were really straightforward and would say anything directly.
After giving the shots, Keith started drinking water. After finishing half a glass, he removed the needle and said, “Alright, I’m going back. There are still some residual toxins in his body, so his mind might not be clear later. Vanessa, you gotta take good care of him. This is his private suite, so you can do whatever you want. I’m leaving
Keith felt like he had just done the nicest thing in his life. He left in a joyful mood.
Besides, Keith hoped Tracy hadn’t gone far so that he could catch up to her and taunt her a bit. Just thinking about it made him feel great.
