Chapter Leeches (2)
Jamie burst through the front door, his eyes darting around wildly before they landed on her and Nox. “Vampires.” Jamie hissed, then approached them with superhuman speed, latching onto Guadalupe’s arm.
“I’ll take her somewhere safe, then come help you kill those leeches.” Jamie and Nox stared at each other for a few seconds before Nox gave a single nod. He looked at Guadalupe, grabbing her face in his hands and kissed her deeply.
James looked away uncomfortably, slowly releasing his grip on Guadalupe. Kingston growled irritably in his head.
“Go with Roccio, and don’t leave until either of us come back for you, okay?” Nox commanded gently, and Guadalupe nodded. The sudden shift of the atmosphere rendered her speechless. Nox kissed her again, then nodded to Jamie and was out the door not a minute later.
Guadalupe looked up at her best friend worriedly, and his eyes softened. “It’ll be okay, Ada. We won’t let anything happen to you.”
Guadalupe scoffed. “Yeah, I know that. But what if something happens to you? What will I do then?”
Hades remembered that night so vividly. He would never forget the night that Fate and the Gods had gifted him his Beloved.
Sitting in the black car as it traveled along the deserted road, his advisor droning on about how beneficial it would be for the kingdom if he would settle down and pick a suitable mistress to be his Queen; Hades was bored out of his mind.
The meeting they were returning from was successful as usual; but seeing much of his trusted allies coupled-up had him feeling an uncomfortable ache in his dead heart, which pissed him off to no end.
His head was in his open palm and the wind whipped against his face. Then it hit him; jasmine and cherry blossom. The ravenous monster in him purred.
“Stop the car.” He had blurted out, cutting off his advisor. “What?” the older man asked, and Hades snarled. “I said stop the fucking car!”
The tires screeched against the asphalt, and Hades threw the door open, inhaling deeply. He set off, and the stronger the scent grew, the more excited he became.
How lucky he was to actually find his Beloved.
And when his eyes landed on her, his dead heart leapt with life.
“Iubitul meu..." he whispered, and he could have sworn that his heart started beating again.
The temporary mark he had given her was enough to keep track of where she was. He stood still at the edge of the border, waiting for the precise moment to invade.
Wiping out a pack of mutts was not on his agenda, but neither was finding his Beloved.
A fist raised in the air, and everyone stood in anticipation. The air around them seemed to stand still. Hades’ fist dropped, and they moved. Then the warning howls filled the air.
The vampire grinned wickedly. Nothing would stop him from getting what he came for.

Jamie stuffed her in an underground bunker all on her lonesome, and she became more agitated as the minutes passed by. Even Aiko paced and growled, which agitated Guadalupe even further.
The sounds of the battle waging above her head grated on her nerves, and slowly filled her with panic. Aiko screaming for Nox made things worse.
“We have to go to him, Lupe. We have to go now.”
Guadalupe didn’t even question it. In the time she was down here, she had already figured out how to open the door again. Two minutes later, Guadalupe was outside, crouching behind a tree.
“Okay, what now? We aren’t exactly strong, and we have no weapons.” Aiko scoffed. “Speak for yourself.”
Guadalupe rolled her eyes. “Well I’m not exactly strong enough to shift yet, now am I?” Aiko huffed, but said nothing. Guadalupe surveyed her surroundings, making sure no one could see her.
“What about that branch?” Aiko asked, and Guadalupe scanned the ground. The branch was long, curved and thick. She picked it up with a bit of effort, and shifted it around in her hands.
“I could give someone a good whack with this.” Guadalupe said aloud, and nodded to herself. “Okay. We gotta move along the treeline.” Aiko said, and Guadalupe moved, her eyes darting around her every few moments.
Vampires and werewolves battled it out, cutting each other down with no remorse. Her heart ached at the thought of her losing any of the pack members she knew.
“On your left!” Aiko called out, and Guadalupe whipped her head around, seeing a red-eyed man speeding towards her, bloody at the mouth. She exhaled, and once he got too close for comfort, Guadalupe swung the branch as hard as she could.
The branch splintered on impact, and the man stumbled back several paces, before dropping on his ass. “Okay now run.” Not wasting a second, Guadalupe sprinted away, weaving through the trees as Aiko instructed.
There was a break in the treeline, and through it, she could see Nox, Jamie, Keon, and Beta Asknes. “Oh damn.” Aiko said, and Guadalupe shared the same sentiment.
They moved like a well-oiled machine, cutting through vampires in their human form, unlike the rest of the pack. They were formidable.
“The Formidable Four.” Aiko snickered, and Guadalupe rolled her eyes. “Not now man.” She huffed, swallowing a laugh. From the corner of her eye, she saw a figure stalk towards them, batting opponents away like flies.
Her breath caught in her throat. “H-Hades?”
“Who the fuck is Hades?” Aiko asked, but Guadalupe didn’t answer; she was still reeling from the sight of him. The closer he got to them, the clearer it became to Guadalupe.
He was going for Nox.
Her feet began to move, and Guadalupe never wished to be a supernatural as much as she did now. She wanted to be fast enough.
With her eyes trained on him, she saw Nox stiffen for a second, then turn around, facing Hades. She knew he had recognized Hades’ scent, and she knew that they were going to tear each other apart.

Nox was shocked to see Hades, but he didn’t show it. They stood mere feet apart, staring each other down; waiting for the other to move.
“What the fuck is the Vampire Prince doing invading my pack?” Zev asked harshly, and Nox frowned. “I don’t know. But I know he was near her.”
Realization dawned on him, and Zev raged. “If he thinks he’s going to take her away from me, he’ll be dead again before he could even blink.”
Nox clenched his fists.
“You have the scent of Iubitul meu all over you.” Hades said, tilting his head at Nox.
“I don’t know what the hell you’re talking about. What I want to know is, why the fuck were you near my mate?”
Hades cocked an eyebrow. ”Your mate?” Nox growled, his glare on the Vampire Prince intensifying.
“Yes. My mate.”
The battle came to standstill. Those who were still breathing watched with bated breath, prepared to dive back into battle the second their leaders begin to fight each other.
The only person mobile was Guadalupe, who pushed herself faster. “We’re almost there, Lupe. C’mon.”
She broke the treeline, jumping over littered bodies and weaving through the crowd of people. She whipped past Jamie and Keon, both of them calling out for her in a panic.
“Ada what the fuck are you doing?” Keon yelled, but Guadalupe paid him no mind, her eyes focused on the two males who were slowly closing the distance between them.
With a burst of adrenaline, Guadalupe closed the distance, and threw out her hands, both hitting a solid chest. Both males stared down in shock at the heaving human girl.
Hades was the first to come out of his shock. ”Dragostea mea?"
Guadalupe panted, throwing her head back to groan. “Oh my God, I’m never running this fast ever again.” She turned her head to Hades, who looked mildly amused.
“Hi, Hades. What the fuck are you doing?”
