Olivia’s words had Bettany panic, making her feel a little helpless. Yet when she came back to her senses, she immediately
shouted with false bravado, “Olivia, don’t you dare go too far. On account that you saved me before, I’ll let you go. Otherwise,
you would have died long ago. You know how important I am to the Grant family, eh? Listen, only I can help you. If you know to
be grateful, you should also know what to say and what not to say!”
The threat in her words was evident.
“Ha...” Olivia chuckled, then said with evident mockery, “So you do know that I have saved youl Bettany, you’re actually the most
despicable person I’ve ever met. I’ve taken good care of you. I might not be a saint to you, but I’ve indeed helped you a lot.
When you were restrained by your parents back then, it was me who called the police to come to rescue you. After that, I was
also the one who saved you from Marcus and healed your right hand. In other words, you would not be where you are now if it
were not for me. I have never asked for anything in return for treatment, have I? However, I never thought that the person I
saved would. turn around and stab me in the back. I can’t believe that a person as despicable as you do exist in this world!”
At this point, she took a step forward to grab the whistle on Bettany’s neck, wanting to take it back.
Bettany, however, reacted quickly, pulling in back with all her might.
She heaved a sigh of relief only when she realized that the necklace was secure.
When she thought of what Olivia had said, she became so angry that her entire body trembled.
After all, Olivia had criticized her for being despicable right in front of everybody, including Alexander.
Utilizing the last bit of rationality within her, she maintained her composure
and said coldly, “Olivia, don’t you try to coerce me with your good deeds. Didn’t you say you never asked for anything in return?
Why are you bringing up the past events now? You say one thing, but you do another. You’re really hypocritical!” Olivia curled
her lips. “I’m hypocritical? Look what kind of ungrateful things you’ve done, eh? Don’t I get to talk about them”
At this point, Olivia paused, turning her head to look at the necklace around. Bettany’s neck. “How do you like wearing my
necklace?”
“Olivia!” Bettany, who had become desperate, interrupted her sternly. “Shut up! Just shut up!”

Alexander, who was sitting on the couch, suddenly raised his head upon hearing this. At that point, his expression was filled with
shock.
He wondered what had happened exactly, and what did that whistle necklace have

to do with Olivia.
Bettany’s eyes were filled with rage, and it looked as though she would like to strangle Olivia.
After glaring at Olivia, Bettany turned her head toward Alexander. She removed the necklace from her neck and explained,
“Alexander, please don’t listen to her nonsense. I’ve told Olivia everything about this whistle necklace, so she knows the truth.
You see, she’s a deceitful person. She might have something up her sleeve, so please don’t believe her!”
With that, she turned toward Olivia and raised her eyebrows smugly.
After all, what had happened back then was too distant from today, and there was no evidence available. In other words, it was
too late for Olivia to say anything
now.
Alexander, who seemed to believe Bettany’s words, stared at Olivia and said coldly. “What have you got to say? What does this
whistle have to do with you?” Before Olivia could say anything, Bettany interrupted hurriedly, “Alexander, Olivia is a stubborn
person. Let’s just do it, eh? Don’t waste time talking to her. See how she’s being stubborn now? Let’s torture Daniel and see
when she will relent.” Alexander’s gaze turned cold as he turned to Daniel.
It was indeed time to teach Olivia a lesson so that she would know her place.
Thinking of this, he shook his head and gestured to his subordinates. “Beat him up. Don’t stop until Olivia is willing to speak.
Also, call the Research Institute and have it resume its collaboration with the Grant family.”
As soon as he finished speaking, two burly bodyguards immediately stepped forward, punching Daniel ruthlessly.
Seeing this, Olivia became furious. She simply could not believe that they dared to touch her man.
“Stop!” She walked straight to Daniel’s side, comforting him by holding his hand. Daniel nodded at her, showing complete trust in
her through his gaze. Alexander involuntarily furrowed his brow as he witnessed the intense gazes. exchanged between the two,

which suggested an unspoken connection and an ability to understand each other’s thoughts. A wave of frustration surged from
the bottom of his heart, and he was ready to order his men to continue hurting Daniel.
However, his body suddenly swayed, and he felt sore and weak all over.
At the same time, Bettany fell hard to the ground.
Moreover, over twenty bodyguards from the Grant family, along with individuals allied with Olivia, collapsed weakly to the ground.
Everyone was wondering how it happened.
They were immensely shocked!

Alexander was even more so. He looked at Olivia in disbelief, and his eyes were filled with confusion.
He wondered how and when did she take action.
Knowing Olivia’s proficiency in medicine and her unpredictable nature, he was aware that she might have access to poisonous
gases or toxic substances; therefore, he had intentionally ordered someone to keep a close eye on her.
Despite his meticulous preparations, he found himself succumbing to her maneuver, leaving him wondering how she had
achieved it.
The fallen bodyguards were also extremely shocked, looking at Olivia with fear. They marveled at her abilities!
Olivia’s limbs went weak. If Daniel had not held on to her, she would have fallen to the ground as well. She retrieved a petite
porcelain bottle, removed the cap, and sniffed its contents beneath her nose. Instantly, her body regained its vigor. Then, she
handed the bottle to Daniel, allowing him to save Huntley and the others.
Alexander slumped onto the couch, watching Olivia’s movements intently. His eyes betrayed a profound sense of confusion as
he asked, “Miss Taylor, how did you do it? And when exactly did you do it?”
It was utterly unbelievable. After all, he had assumed that their abrupt arrival would catch Olivia off guard.

He contemplated where he might have made an error and how the poison could have entered his system. After all, he had not
detected any unusual smell whatsoever.
Observing Alexander’s perplexity, Olivia approached Bettany with a smile. Fixing a furious gaze upon Bettany, she forcefully
removed the whistle necklace from her neck.
She held the whistle with her slender fingers and showed it to Alexander. “Do yo
you know why I said I was glad that you were the ones who came? It’s because I have placed poison inside it.”
Alexander was taken aback. He glanced back and forth between the whistle and Olivia, then said with immense bewilderment,
“This... This whistle belongs to you?”
Bettany broke down and shouted, “Alexander! Don’t believe her, I beg you! Don’t believe her!”
He decided to ignore her. Instead, he fixed his gaze on Olivia, looking at her extremely intensely.
“Olivia, does this whistle belong to you?” he asked again with a firm tone, demanding an answer from Olivia.
Seeing Alexander’s reaction, Bettany was in despair, and her heart was filled with

whistle.”
In a self–deprecating tone, Alexander remarked, “Is that all? Am I the only one concerned about what occurred back then? To
Ms. Taylor, the little boy who gave away the whistle holds no significance or importance, eh?”Olivia retorted as she looked at him
coldly, “What do you want me to say? Do you really think you’re a Casanova? Do you think you’re starring in a TV drama? How
stupid! It’s just a make–believe game for children. Only an idiot would take it seriously!”
