Chapter 3
Sarah Williams – POV
“I am sorry to react that way, dear. But, are you training to be a warrior?” the old lady asked me, and I shook my head, which made her even more curious. “If you are not training to be a warrior, then why did they arrange for you to stay at the beta’s pack?” she wondered, and this made my anxiety level rise to the very top. “I think you will have to go and talk to our Alpha before you go there, dear. Maybe it is a mistake.” she consoles, and I too fervently hope that it must be a mistake. “Anyway, before you go, have some dinner.” she offered, and I gladly took her offer and walked inside the
restaurant.
After I was done with my meal, I paid the nice old lady and started my journey to the Alpha’s pack house. Like she said, after driving for a mile or so, I started seeing a few houses, which gradually increased in number till I came to a stop in front of a huge glass building that already had a few cars parked in the front. I parked my car behind a shiny Lamborgini, got down, and made my way to the pack house. I opened the door to a beautiful hallway, that was opening to a large seating area on my right and a kitchen to my left.
“Miss, state your business.” I looked to my right to see that I was stopped by a muscled man who was easily towering over me with tattoos all over his body, and I soon came to assume that he must be a warrior because he was kind of good-looking too, with a beard and piercing blue eyes.
“I, um, here you go.” I stammered before I quickly pulled out
my phone and shoved it in front of his face, he took the phone from my hand, rather gently, and read the email that I received a short while ago.
“Oh, so you are the newbie.” he asserted and looked at me from head to toe before a smirk appeared on his face, and I nervously shifted on my foot at his scrunching stare. “But, you don’t look anywhere near a warrior to me. Did you come to the White Blood pack with a death wish?” he asked me, and I timidly shook my head while I shut my mouth tight because I know that if I open that, I will be kicked out of this pack before I can say potatoes. “Oh, you look like a girl lost in the woods. Anyway, lucky for you, the Alpha is free at the moment. Let’s go and meet him.” the guy said, and then he led me inside after closing the front door. We made our way upstairs till we came to a stop in front of a huge oak door, this guy just entered the room without even knocking on the door, and I followed him in like a lost puppy.
“Didn’t I just kick you out from here a minute ago, Dimitri? Why did you come back again?” the Alpha asked the nameless giant whose name I figured out was Dimitri, and when there was no response, he looked up to see me.
“Oh, you must be Miss. Willaims. Nice to meet you.” Alpha Adrian Blaze greeted me, and I nodded my head with a smile on my face.
“Nice to meet you too, Alpha Blaze.”
“So, did you face any problem at the Beta’s pack?” he asked me, and I shook my head.
“Actually, Alpha, I am not here to be trained as a warrior. I
asked for a transfer to your pack because I wanted to um, start a new life here.”
“Oh, but, Alpha Vanguard specifically told me that you are very interested in training to be a warrior. I don’t think an alpha would recommend his pack member using praising words, if he doesn’t believe in them, right?” he asked me with narrowed eyes.
Wow, Vanguard, you have officially started to make my life a living hell just because I hurt your Alpha ego and rejected you?
Well, Alpha, two can play a game. If you expect me to come. running back to you again, that will never happen.
“Um, Alpha, to tell you the truth, I can not even throw a proper punch at someone. And I have always been a person for non-violence, I only came to your pack to start a new life. I am an interior designer by profession, and I hoped to start a small office of mine on the human side of town.” I explained, and both the men looked at me with bewildered looks.
“Well, your alpha sure didn’t mention that. But if that is the case, then it would be ideal for you to reside in my pack,” Alpha Blaze said, and I nodded my head. “But, Miss. Williams, I gave the last available house to a couple in my pack since your Alpha told me that you are transferring here for the training. And if I have to build you a new house, that is going to cost you money and time.” he explained, and my mind instantly dampened.
“I don’t mind spending, Alpha. But how long will it take for
me to move into your pack?”
“Three months, and till then, you might have to stay at the Beta’s pack. But don’t worry, I will inform Beta Alan that you are not a new trainee,” he said, and I know that there is no other way but to accept the offer, so I begrudgingly nodded my head.
“Also, you need to know that all my pack members are trained in self-defense. For you to become a permanent member of my pack, you will have to pass the three-level training program that will qualify you as a member of the White Blood pack. Since you don’t have much knowledge of battles and training, I think you will have to join the training conducted by our Beta and Gam ma.” he said.
“Sure, Alpha.”
“Once the three months are up, I will decide if I want you in my pack or not. But, you also get the choice to reject my offer and move out too,” he explained everything, and I nodded my head, after that, he took a file that had a few papers in it with a small passport-size picture of mine stapled at the top of the paper.
“This is a temporary agreement between us. And once you are an official member, I will get you a document where you can sign and become an official member of the White Blod pack, alright?” he asked me, and I nodded my head, and made my way to his desk and signed in all the places that he showed me.
“Okay, so Dimitri will be taking you to the Beta’s pack. Good luck, Miss. Williams.” The Alpha said, and I shook my hands
with him before we left the room.
