Beta Xavier Costa.

Chapter 33

Eleanor Amato - POV

It's been more than twenty-four hours since I claimed my rights in Xavier’s closet, and since then, he had always been grumpy, he would glare at me at every chance he got, but that's all he did, and I was happy about it. I took out the baked potatoes from the oven and started arranging them on the plates when Mom walked in wearing her nightgown. “Good morning, Ellie.” she greeted me with a bright smile on her face.

“Good morning, do you want some coffee?”

“Than, you dear. I will get it,” she replied as she made her way to the coffee maker and started brewing a fresh cup of coffee for herself.

“So, what's on your agenda today?”

“Well, I will have to go to that naming ceremony after breakfast, but I guess I will be free for the rest of the day.”

“That sounds great. Would you like to have lunch with me at the local cafe?” Mom asked me, and I nodded my head. Since the time she came back to the pack, we never really got to spend time alone together except for the occasional small talk that we had.

“That would be nice. I will meet you at the cafe at one?”

“Okay, dear,” she replied.

Click.

We heard the front door open, and a few minutes later, Samuel walked into the kitchen with a bouquet of assorted flowers and a box of chocolates. “Welcome back to the pack, Aunt Sam,” Samuel said and approached Mom.

“Don't you think it's a few days too late?” Mom asked him with an arched eyebrow, but she took the bouquet from his hand and smelled the flowers.

“I know, and I am so sorry for that. I was caught up in a lot of work.” he apologized, but then, she shook her head and pulled him into a hug.

“I know how hard things can get, Samuel. You don't have to apologize for that. I am happy that you came to visit me at least now.” she said and pulled back. Seeing an alpha all nervous and happy made a smile appear on my face.

“Thank you, Aunt Sam,” he replied when his eyes finally landed on me. “What are you making, Eleanor?” Samuel asked me as he took a whiff of the air around us.

“I am making baked potatoes, waffles, and a curry. Would you like to stay for breakfast?” I asked him, and he nodded his head and took a seat at the table. I quickly made my way to the cupboard and took out another plate before I began plating the food. Once I was done serving, Mom helped me set the table, and the three of us sat at the table to begin eating.

“Where is Mr.Costa, mom?” I asked her as I took my first bite.

“How many times should I tell you to just call him dad, Eleanor? I mean, I feel weird when you call me mom and him, Mr.Costa.”

“I know, I am still getting used to it,” I told her, and she nodded her head.

“Well, he is coming downstairs as we speak, but my son is missing.” Mom asserted when her eyes turned around to glance at me. “Why don't you mind link him and ask him where he is, Ellie.” Mom, and this made me choke on my potatoes.

How the hell am I supposed to mind-link him when he makes sure to block my mind-link every single day?

“Um…”

“Good morning, Mom.” right then, Xavier walked into the kitchen, freshly showered, saving my ass.

“Right on time. Take a seat, and let's start eating.” Mom said, and he nodded his head and took a seat next to me.

“What brings you here this morning, Samuel?” Xavier asked when he realized that Samuel was there. And this made a frown appear on my face. Doesn't Samuel have a right to even come here?

“I came to visit Aunt Sam,” he replied, but I saw that the answer did not satisfy Xavier, he let it slide and began eating, and soon enough, Dad also joined us. Breakfast went by with little talk, and when we were finally done, I got up from my place, ready to head upstairs to get ready for the party.

“Eleanor, can I talk to you for a minute?” Samuel asked me, which stopped me in my tracks, and I nodded my head. “I will not be able to come to the naming ceremony today,” he said.

“Oh, so are we canceling the ceremony?” I asked him because this ceremony can not take place without a high-ranking male present, but Samuel shook his head.

“No, I don't think that would be fair, so I thought that Xavier and you could go there. It would also be a good thing to show the pack members how close you two are,” he said, and this made my heart sink. I was hoping to have some fun at this naming ceremony, but I don't think I will be able to enjoy myself there with Xavier by my side.

“But can't Marquez come with me?”

“He has to go out on an emergency pack business.”

“I can go for that, and maybe Marquez can go with Eleanor,” Xavier spoke, and for once, I agreed with him.

“Nonsense, why don't you want to spend time with your mate, Xavier? I thought…” Mom didn't complete her sentence, instead, her attention turned toward me, and I knew what she wanted to ask.

“Everything is fine between us, mom. It's just that if I go with Eleanor, I am afraid I might not be able to keep my hands to myself.” Xavier said, and this made me turn around to look at him.

“Oh, thank god. Anyway, I think both of you should start getting ready or you might be late.” Mom said, and Xavier nodded his head and got up from his place as well. We walked upstairs to our room in silence, and I walked into the washroom to take a shower.
