Chapter Benson 296
Chapter 296: Inner Struggles
George frowned, confusion written all over his face. “Benson’s girlfriend? Are you sure?”
Joseph leaned in closer, lowering his voice. “Isn’t she? That’s what
Miss Yan said,” he replied, his tone tinged with uncertainty.
George shot Joseph a cold look, clearly unsatisfied with the
answer.
He warned in a low voice, “Just because she said it doesn’t make it
true. Don’t spread rumors, and don’t cause trouble. If this gets back home and Yvonne hears about it, the boss’s plans could be ruined.”
Joseph’s expression shifted slightly, but he kept a calm demeanor. “I’m not spreading anything. This information all came from Miss
Yan.”
When George saw Benson, Benson was intensely focused on his phone, his brow furrowed.
The flashing missed calls and message notifications on the screen only added to his anxiety.
His fingers tapped rhythmically on the table, a sign of his growing impatience.
Yvonne had mentioned she had something important to tell him, but her calls hadn’t gone through, which only made him more agitated.
Finally, Benson threw his phone down on the table as if it were the source of all his unease.
He looked up at George, his gaze sharp. “So, what’s the progress?”
George’s face was serious as he quickly pulled a stack of documents from his briefcase and handed them to Benson.
“I’ve hidden all information about Sol. There’s nothing about him in these files.”
He paused, concern evident in his eyes. “But weren’t you
particularly worried about Jeremy? He’s been digging into Sol’s affairs.”
Benson took the documents, his expression heavy as he closed them.
His gaze became contemplative, showing a hint of confusion. When you told Yvonne about Sol, did she seem anxious or upset?”
George hesitated, clearly puzzled. “I didn’t tell her. Yvonne came to me? I thought she came to you to ask about Sol.”
Benson’s expression grew more complicated, and he pressed his lips together tightly. “So she didn’t come to me about Sol?”
George sighed and sat down, feeling a bit exasperated.
“Yvonne did look for you. She was with Jeremy. I saw them together when I was having dinner with a client. They seemed to be getting along quite well.”
He shook his head, his tone slightly reproachful. “You’re really dropping the ball here, messing up at such a critical moment.”
Benson remained silent, his fingers lightly tracing the edge of the table, clearly anxious.
His mind was torn with conflicting emotions, unsure how to deal with the unraveling of his relationship.
Seeing this, George rubbed his temples. “Boss, are you still holding on? Don’t you want to talk things out with Yvonne? No matter what, you need to face the fact that she’s with Jeremy now.”
Benson’s voice was low and filled with pain. “She’s with Jeremy now. How could things work out between u
His eyes were filled with deep sorrow and frustration.
He couldn’t bear the thought of Yvonne being in someone else’s arms, or the fact that others might be admiring her beauty. This idea filled him with anxiety and a sense of defeat.
“I…” Benson took a deep breath, trying to calm his emotions. “You stay here. I’m going back to take care of some other matters.”
George watched Benson’s retreating figure, feeling a deep sense of sympathy.
He knew that Benson’s heart was being torn apart, and despite his calm exterior, he was struggling to keep himself together.
Yvonne, on the other hand, was increasingly confused, unable to figure out what game Benson was playing.
Why was he hiding all information about her brother, Sol?
She had already gotten some clues from Mr. Donald, but those leads had dried up.
She couldn’t let go–she had to find out where her brother was and whether he was still alive.
In Mr. Donald’s office, Yvonne carefully flipped through a book titled *Jewelry*.
This book was more than just a design reference; it was a precious collection from her father, filled with nature–inspired designs of

flowers and insects.
These were the sources of inspiration her father had drawn from when designing jewelry.
Mr. Donald told her that Benson had once looked through this
book and had even taken it with him.
This information unsettled Yvonne because she knew how important this book was to her brother’s design style.
“Mr. Donald, could you give me the address of that designer?” Yvonne asked, her voice filled with urgency and anxiety.
Mr. Donald frowned slightly, sensing her determination. “I can give you the address, but that designer doesn’t live in this city. He’s in Hawaii.”
Yvonne immediately asked Megan to book a flight to Hawaii, determined to go and investigate herself.
She needed to ask that designer if he really had any connection to her brother and if Sol was still alive.

When Jeremy saw how determined she was, he frowned and said, ” I’ll go with you.”
Yvonne shook her head firmly. “I can handle this myself. You don’t need to trouble yourself.”
Jeremy’s tone turned serious. “Yvonne, you’re not in good shape right now. You can’t do this alone. What if something happens?”
Seeing his concern, Yvonne reluctantly agreed to let Jeremy accompany her. They departed from Las Vegas and headed to Hawaii.
As they waited at the airport, Yvonne sat quietly in the terminal, her heart filled with thoughts of her brother and anxiety about the
unknown.
She repeatedly checked her luggage and documents, trying to keep
herself calm.
Jeremy stayed by her side, occasionally glancing at her, but always maintaining a respectful silence, giving her space to process her
emotions.
Meanwhile, as Benson landed in Goodsprings to catch a
connecting flight to his next destination, he received a call from Mr. Donald.
On the call, Mr. Donald mentioned that Yvonne had gone to Hawaii and that she wasn’t alone–she had gone with Jeremy.
Hearing this, Benson’s expression darkened, and he immediately decided to change his travel plans.
When Yvonne and Jeremy stepped out of the airport in Hawaii, the cool air brought a sense of refreshment, but the physical
exhaustion was still hard to shake off.
She forced herself to stay alert, unable to relax because of the urgency and anxiety in her heart.
“Let’s go to the hotel and rest for a bit,” Jeremy suggested gently, placing a comforting hand on Yvonne’s shoulder.
Yvonne shook her head, her resolve firm. “No, I don’t want to rest. I’m afraid something might change, and we can’t waste any time.”
Jeremy’s expression grew serious. He knew how determined
Yvonne was, but as her friend, he didn’t want her to push herself too hard and risk her health, especially considering the baby she was carrying.
He took a deep breath and said with more determination, “Yvonne,
you’re not just thinking about yourself now. You have a baby to consider.”
“We need to make sure you stay healthy because even if we find the answers you’re looking for, it won’t matter if your health is compromised.”
