Chapter Benson 292

Chapter 292: On the Edge of Love and Pain

The internal struggle made Benson hesitate, and in the end, he sighed. and closed the dialing screen. Leaning back in his chair, he closed his eyes, his brow furrowed slightly.

Memories of the past surged up like a tide, making it impossible for him to escape. As he tried to suppress his feelings, his fingers inadvertently swiped across the screen, opening his photo album.

There, staring back at him, were a few pictures of Yvonne.

These photos were taken secretly when they were in Miami. Yvonne was wearing a soft pink sleeveless top that accentuated her radiant beauty. Her smile was gentle and bright.

In those photos, she appeared less sharp and decisive than usual, showing a softer, more tender side. Benson’s heart stirred. He had seen Yvonne in her professional attire, efficient and precise, and he had seen her navigating her work with ease.

But he preferred the relaxed version of her in Miami. There, she would daydream, get scared, and even show traces of girlish confusion.

That version of Yvonne was, to him, the most real.

As his mother once said, “That version of Yvonne is perhaps what John always wished she would become.”

Benson took a deep breath, his eyes returning to the phone screen, where a photo of Yvonne sitting on a Miami terrace was displayed.

He remembered that night vividly. They sat on the terrace together, a starry sky above them, with Yvonne leaning against him, quietly gazing at the distant night. In that moment, he felt an overwhelming sense of contentment, as if the whole world was beneath their feet. Yet, what mattered most to him was her serene smile.

Benson’s Adam’s apple moved slightly, and emotions welled up within him once more. He knew he was still thinking about her, still longing. for the woman he loved so deeply.

Even though his heart was full of anger and disappointment, he couldn’t deny that he couldn’t fully detach himself from this relationship.

“This torturous woman…” he murmured to himself, his voice filled with a mix of helplessness and complex emotions.

Meanwhile, Bella was fuming with anger. She paced back and forth in her hotel room, her fury almost bursting from her eyes.

Thinking about the scene she had just witnessed, her face turned pale with rage. She angrily pulled out her phone and quickly dialed Yvonne’s number.

On the other end, Yvonne’s voice sounded tired, as if she was worn out from morning sickness.

“What’s wrong?” Her voice was hoarse, with a hint of exhaustion.

Bella’s voice, however, was filled with barely contained rage. “Benson is with Claire now, and they’re very happy together. That bastard doesn’t care about you at all!”

Yvonne paused, her mind replaying Bella’s words. She frowned slightly, imagining Benson and Claire together. Although she felt a bit. uncomfortable, she didn’t react with strong emotions.

She soon calmed down and replied softly, “It’s normal. We’re divorced, and he’s free to move on.”

Bella, hearing Yvonne’s calm response, became even more infuriated.

“Claire is pretty and has a clean aura. But don’t you think Benson is being too much? You guys just got divorced, and he’s already all over someone else…”

Yvonne don’t respond to Bella wodis but instead let out a small

“in terms of looka and family background, they do match well. They’re quite suitable for each other.”

After saying that, Della realized her tone had been too harsh She paused, feeling a wave of quilt. “Yvonne, are you okay? I didn’t mean to make you feel worse!

On the other end, Yvonne’s voice called a note of fatigue and helplessness. “It’s nothing. I’m just a little unwell.”

She sighed softly, trying to mask her inner pain.

She couldn’t understand why she kept throwing up, even having trouble keeping water down. The physical toll of pregnancy was making her feel incredibly miserable,

Bella, hearing her response, felt even more uneasy.

“I’m sony, Yvonne. I really wanted to help, but maybe I’m just making things worse for you.”

She thought about how Yvonne was suffering because of Benson’s child, and her heart filled with indignation and anger.

Knowing Benson was off flirting with another woman while Yvonne. was struggling alone made her feel even more bitter.

“It’s nothing. These reactions are pretty normal.”

Yvonne forced herself to remain calm, though her voice was weak. “I just want to sleep now. Lately, I’ve been feeling so tired.”

The pregnancy had made her sleepy all the time, and combined with severe morning sickness, she felt utterly drained.

She felt as if all her energy had been sucked out, making even the simplest tasks seem overwhelmingly difficult.

She realized that, at this moment, she could only rely on herself to endure everything alone.

Bella listened to the silence on the other end of the line, and her heart

ached.

She knew Yvonne wasn’t doing well, and her spirits were at an all–time.

low.

Bella wanted to say something more, but she didn’t know where to start, so she hurriedly ended the call

Meanwhile, Benson was busy in Australia.

He knew his father’s warnings were valid–the Taylor Group’s crisis. had never disappeared; they had merely suppressed it temporarily.

As the future leader of the Taylor Group, Benson felt an immense. responsibility. He had to eliminate any potential crises before they could develop further.

To identify the root of the problem, Benson had nearly all of the company’s financial statements from the past ten years reviewed in

detail.

He spent every day in meetings with his team, looking for any clues.

Piles of documents and reports cluttered his desk, and his eyes were

bloodshot from the strain.

Despite his busy schedule, Claire hadn’t given up on pursuing him.

She was filming in the same crew as Bella, and although her role was small, she made it a point to flaunt herself in front of Bella, seemingly trying to provoke her.

Bella found Claire’s behavior extremely distasteful and didn’t want to engage with her.

But Claire deliberately approached her anyway. “Bella, I’m going on a

date with Benson tonight. I might not come back.”

Her voice was sickeningly sweet, her tone slow and teasing, as if she were bragging.

Bella barely restrained herself from rolling her eyes, responding

coldly, “What does that have to do with me?”

Claire, however, only pushed further, her smile turning smug. Just don’t let your good friend bother us.

When she mentioned Yvonne’s name, it was almost through gritted teeth, with undisguised malice.

Bella’s frustration boiled over. Her already simmering emotions erupted as she muttered under her breath, “What a scumbag.”

She thought about what Olivia had told her–how Yvonne looked so exhausted and pale recently. Knowing that Benson was still fooling around with other women made her angrier.

Bella felt a strong urge to tell Yvonne to get rid of the baby that was causing her so much pain, to break free from this cycle of suffering once and for all.

But she knew Yvonne still had feelings for the baby. She couldn’t

make that decision for her.

And with Bella being so far away in Australia, she could only wait anxiously, unable to offer immediate support.
