Chapter Benson 290
Chapter 290: Misaligned Rebirth
Benson’s lips curled into a bitter smile as he realized that their love had long since become an irreparable tragedy. He had once loved her deeply, but that love had gradually been worn away by repeated disappointments.
His obsession with her had driven him to make many foolish decisions, but now, he finally understood that it was time to let go.
Since Yvonne had so resolutely severed their ties, he knew he needed to learn to let go and start anew in his emotional life.
“There are plenty of people who like me besides her. Life goes on, no matter who leaves whom,” Benson tried to calm himself, reminding himself that he still had choices. He was still the powerful
businessman who dominated the market, and he had countless opportunities to find a new life.
Meanwhile, Yvonne quietly waited at home for Benson to return her call. Two days passed, and still, she heard nothing.
She knew Benson was deliberately ignoring her call, likely in retaliation for her earlier resoluteness.
A wave of sadness washed over her. She didn’t blame him; she knew she had also made mistakes, especially when she had used all means necessary to break away from him.
In the meantime, Yvonne’s health was deteriorating. This was her first pregnancy, and her morning sickness was becoming increasingly severe. Even the slightest whiff of anything greasy made her feel
nauseous.
Each time she vomited, the bile burned her throat, leaving her feeling utterly drained.

She felt extremely uncomfortable, and the physical torment only added to her anxiety.
Bella, who had been staying by her side, was heartbroken to see her in such pain.
“Has he still not called you back?” Bella couldn’t help but ask, her voice filled with worry. “This pregnancy is really taking a toll on you. Maybe you should consider not keeping it?”
Yvonne lay weakly on the office sofa, shaking her head slightly. “I
need to think about it some more.”
Her voice carried a note of helplessness and confusion.
The arrival of this child had upended all her plans, and she didn’t know how to deal with this unexpected life.
She had always been so decisive, always knowing what she wanted,
but now she felt more lost than ever.
Seeing this, Bella didn’t press further. Instead, she gently held
Yvonne’s hand, offering her silent comfort.
“I have to get back to work. If you need anything, just call me, or have Olivia keep you company.”
Although Bella was worried, she knew that the best help she could
offer now was to give Yvonne some space to make her own
decisions.
Yvonne forced a small smile and nodded. “Go ahead, focus on your work. Don’t give anyone a reason to criticize you now that your career is taking off. I’ll be fine.”
Her tone carried a forced strength, not wanting her issues to affect Bella’s career.
Bella nodded, reluctant but respecting Yvonne’s wishes. She had
taken on a modem drama, with location shooting scheduled in Australia, which meant she had to be away for a while.
After a long day of filming, Bella arrived at Taylor Group’s overseas office in Australia, feeling a bit weary. She had intended to speak with. Benson, as Yvonne’s situation had been weighing on her mind for
days.
But as soon as she stepped into the company lobby, she was greeted by a scene that made her blood boil
Benson was standing there, and Claire wa clinging tightly to him, her face beaming with obvious delight.
What infuriated Bella even more was that Benson didn’t push Claire away. He just stood there, allowing her to hold him so intimately.
Bella felt a surge of anger rush to her head, her fury uncontrollable.
She quickly strode over to the two of them, not hesitating to pry Claire off Benson, her eyes blazing with anger.
“Have you no shame?” Bella’s voice was dripping with fury as she glared at Claire, practically spitting out the word “shame” with venom.
But just as the words left her mouth, she realized that Yvonne and Benson were already divorced. It didn’t seem appropriate for her to
confront Claire like this.
Claire, startled by Bella’s sudden appearance, took a few steps back, glaring at her with a mixture of resentment and defiance.
“What are you doing? I’m planning to start a relationship with
Benson,” Claire said with a hint of smugness, as if she were flaunting the fact that she would soon take Yvonne’s place.
Bella turned her cold gaze to Benson, her voice tinged with disbelief and anger. “You’re not really considering this, are you?” She stared at him, searching his expression for any sign of denial.
However, Benson’s eyes, as they met Bella’s, held only coldness and Irritation, as if her questioning was merely an unwelcome disturbance.
Benson frowned slightly, a flicker of impatience crossing his face.
He had already been annoyed by Bella’s sudden interference, and now her questioning only added to his frustration.
He let out a cold laugh, his voice laced with sarcasm. “What, she’s allowed to move on, but I’m not? Isn’t Yvonne being a bit too
controlling?”
Bella was momentarily speechless, hot expecting Benson to respond
this way.
His words were like a sharp knife, cutting straight into her heart.
She paused, her anger and anxiety swirling inside her, but she couldn’t find the right words to counter him.
She knew that when Benson said “she,” he meant Yvonne, and this was a fact Bella couldn’t ignore.
She really had no right to interfere in Yvonne’s love life.
Bella finally gathered the courage to speak again, her tone tinged with helplessness and concern. “Benson, do you even know that Yvonne…” She wanted to tell him about Yvonne’s pregnancy, hoping that this news would awaken a sense of responsibility in Benson.
But before she could finish, Claire interrupted her.
Claire was clearly very sensitive to the name “Yvonne.” As soon as she heard it, her expression darkened.
Yvonne was Benson’s ex–wife, his first love, and had always been regarded as his “pure white moonlight.” Just these titles were enough to make Claire feel jealous and insecure.
She grabbed Benson’s arm, clutching it tightly as if staking her claim, and without hesitation, cut Bella off
“Let’s go, darling. Don’t pay any attention to her.” Claire shot Bella a cold glare before practically dragging Benson toward the elevator.
Bella watched them walk away, feeling a mix of frustration and
concern.
She had wanted to warn Benson about Yvonne’s situation, but Claire’s presence made her hesitate, fearing it would only create more
misunderstandings and conflict.
“Benson, you’d better call Yvonne back, or you might regret it,” Bella’s voice called out from behind, her tone carrying both a warning and a note of concern.
She knew Benson’s temperament and knew that once he made up his mind, it was hard to change.
But she couldn’t help but hope that, at the very least, out of a sense of responsibility, he would return Yvonne’s call and find out how she was doing.
Benson paused at the elevator door, turning back to give Bella a cold, disdainful look.
His voice dripped with sarcasm and indifference as he said, “If she has something to ask of me, what do I have to regret?”
