Chapter 15
WES
“Thea! Duck!!”
I slam her down on the ground as a table is thrown across the dining hall.
The entire building is now ground zero for horney wolves who are willing to kill to get laid. Everyone is the threat. Every woman is mine. Anyone who tries to stop them is a dead man.
I feel it too, but not at this level. It’s scratching to release, but for Theas sake, I’m keeping it together. It might be because I already got some this morning. All the males in the security unit are going insane with possessiveness and an insane instinct to mate every fucking female.
It seems to only make single females murderously aggressive. Those that are mated are running for their fucking lives.
I look at with shock and disbelief. There’s fights in almost every corner. People are practically having sex on the floor. Most of them are shirtless and bloody. They’ve already gone through a hundred rounds.
Women scream from all corners. Men scream and roar as their wolves hormones go through the roof.
“Wes?!” She pulls on me as five guys run into the room behind us. I turn and they’re wolves have all surfaced.
“Shit!” I brace myself as they square up for the attack. I raise my wolf and my eyes glow blue.
A woman runs by them, screaming for help. She’s being chased by three men. The five guys all let out loud growls and jump the men. They punch and claw at each other in a pile on the floor.
Mating season has begun ladies and gents.
“We need out of this building. Now!” I start to back up with Thea behind me.
“You want to leave?” She blinks at me.
“Uh…Yes! I don’t want you in this fucking shit! Come on!” I grab her and pull her behind me as I try not to get us killed.
Three men, all fighting each other, almost knock us over. Thea yelps and hides behind me as I arch back as I try to stay on my feet. The aggression could be felt in my chest as they rip each other apart. “Holy shit.” I blow out a breath.
“Let’s go.” I break into a run with Thea right on my heels. I grab her hand and we run to the exit of the dining hall.
I'm hit with a chair from the side and toppled to the floor. I throw the chair off and search for the one who threw it.
“WESSS!!”
I see Curtis, snarling and growling, trying to carry Thea off. His face is both angry and sexually hungry. Thea’s kicking and screaming at him as he walks through the rumbling, trashed dining hall. His eyes are glowing as his wolf takes him over.
This fucking Blood Moon is going to kill us all.
“HEY!!” I scramble to my feet, run at him and knock him down. Thea falls and skids across the floor. “SHE’S MINE!” I pick him up, growl loud and land three solid punches to his head. He crumbles to the ground. Once he’s knocked out, I reach for Theas arm and pull her to her feet. “Fucking run.” I grit.
We run out of the dining hall, dodging military men and women ripping each other apart for mating rights. These are parents, friends, lovers. All turned to aggressive animals. Angry mates, jealous friends and single, frustrated wolves. The yelling and clawing at each other was grating on my skin. Every inch of the place was covered in broken shit, blood and bodies. It was worse than any pack war I’ve ever seen.
My eyes widen when a guy is chased down the hall. “HELP ME!!” He yells. He’s chased by five she wolves. They knock him over and proceed to shred his clothes off…with some of his skin. He’s screaming in agony and begging for help.
Thea and I rush to his aide and throw the girls off him. Two of the she wolves try to attack again, but Thea wasn’t having that. They exchange punches and Thea throws one girl. She slams the second into the floor and punches her until the she wolf passes out.
“Nice.” I say with my brows up.
“Thanks.” She breathes.
I turn to the half naked guy on the floor. He can barely breathe. Another man runs by us as the other she wolves run after him with lust in their eyes and blood on their faces.
The guy stands. “Holy fuck, man. Thanks.” He hangs onto my shoulder.
“No problem.” I say. “We’re leaving. Let’s go.”
He smirks at me. “Fuck that. The fun’s just started.” His eyes flash gold and he runs off down a hall.
I stand and look confused. “What?”
“Wesley!!” Thea grabs my arm and pulls me.
“He didn’t want to leave?” I thumb over my shoulder.
“Forget about that! Get us out of here!” Thea points to the dining hall door. I watch as the fights start coming this way.
“Right.”
After four hours of fighting to survive this, I’m exhausted and getting severely pissed off. I’m still fighting off the moons effects, but it’s getting harder the longer I’m in this fucking building. We've tried every exit and window except the front door. Which is where everyone is. In order for us to get out we have to fight our way out.
You’d think they wouldn’t want to be in here, but they all don’t seem to want to leave. It won’t be long before wolves start tearing through inside here because they can’t escape to the woods where they want to be. Our wolves know there’s way better advantages outside. If they’re denied, it’s a fucking bloodbath.
I bust through the secured door to the front lobby and go to open the front door. It won’t open. I grab a chair and throw it at the glass and it doesn’t break. “SHITTT!” I grip my hair and turn away.
“Wes. Why can’t we get out?” Thea asks.
I motion to the door. “The building’s on lockdown. Someone must have hit the alarms. The glass was reinforced after the bombing we had here.”
“There has to be some way out.” She says.
“All exits are locked. We’re stuck in here with that.” We look to the security door and can clearly hear the riot on the other side.
“How long does this last?” Thea holds herself.
“Till the blue moon.” I rub my forehead. “Which is two months away.”
“Wesley. They’ll kill each other by then.” She says quietly says.
“I know. We need to get them outside. They’ll stand a better chance out there.” I stand and think. “Let’s go.”
“Where are we going?” Thea says to my back as I swipe the keypad and open the door carefully.
“Bastian’s office. It’s a panic room. We can hide there and open the doors. I’m sure that’s where everyone else is. We can figure out how to stop this." I walk down the hallway and stop. Cautiously, I look into the main area of the unit. The elevators are on the other side and there’s full on riot going on in the massive lobby. Shits flying. Clothes are being torn off. Men are relentlessly ganging up on others. The testosterone is so thick, my wolf is slamming his body into my ribcage to join the fight. I’m not letting this asshole get us killed.
I look at Thea. “Don’t stop.” I mutter. She nods at me with a face full of fear. I kiss her hand. “It’ll be ok.”
I prepare myself and find my route through the bodies. “Go, now!”
We break into a sprint. The screaming, growling, and dark threats of murder filled the room and the piles of fights everywhere had us weaving around them in a panicked rush. They just pounded on each other like it was their fucking jobs. I can’t wrap my head around it at all.
As we ran for the elevators, some on the second floor, got thrown over the balcony and landed around us. I stop and cover Thea as she screams into my chest.
“Jesus.” I look at the bloodied bodies on the floor, then look up at the evil looking men leaning over the rails. They howl and run out of sight. I hope we can fix this.
I guide Thea through the mess of blood and hit the button for the car to take us up to Bastian’s office.
While Thea pushes the button fast, two men rush us. I throw punches to them. I slam my boot into the first guy and he slides across the floor. The second one tries to grab me and bite at my neck. His canines are out. I punch him square in the face. He stumbles back, holding his bleeding nose and groaning with a dark growl. I grab him and throw him to down the hall to his friend.
The elevator door opens and I shove Thea onto it as the first guy tries to grab at her.
I grab his shirt and swing three fast punches to his head and he falls to the floor. The door closes and I flop to the back of the wall. The elevator rises and I check my throbbing hand. “Once we get to Bastian’s office, we lock ourselves in and you stick with me. If any of the guys are in there, they’ll be affected to.”
“Wes, why is this happening?” She holds me and I wrap my arms around her head.
“It’s our curse, I guess.” I really don’t know how to answer that question. Every day, we shifters live by the moon. For the most part, all of it is good, but you can’t have good without the bad.
I hug her tight because I’m not worried about myself. I’m worried about Thea. Being female, these guys won’t take no for answer. If I lost her, it won’t be good. I need to get her into safety now.
The door opens to loud fighting in the hall.
“Fuck.” I grumble as I peak out the door. There’s guys throwing other guys against the walls of the hall while women run screaming, past the elevator.
Right in the direction of Bastian’s office.
I look at Thea. “Stick right to my back and don’t fucking stop.”
She sucks in a breath and nods.
I grab her and run with her fast. We dodge and duck through the small hallway. Two guys fall right at our feet and we jump over them.
It took them a bit to catch on to us and the chase was on.
“DAMN IT! THEA IN FRONT!!” I shove her in front of me and we run like the place is on fire. Thea screams as a body flies toward us. We duck and recover.
“TURN LEFT!!” I yell to her. She makes a sharp left turn and I follow, but I’m slammed into a wall. The guy is covered in blood, his canines are out and his eyes are glowing fucking red. He throws a punch and I move. His hand sinks into the drywall and I sucker punch him. I follow with knee to the solar plexus. He doubles over with a loud groan and I uppercut him. He crashes to the floor. I jump over him and catch up to Thea. “LAST DOOR!”
She hits the door and tries the handle. “IT'S LOCKED!”
I hit the door and bang on it with my fists. “BASTIAN! OPEN THE DOOR!”
Thea’s banging too. “HEY! OPEN! PLEASE!”
I hear growls and look behind me. The hall is filled with broken, bleeding, angry men. They’re coming up fast.
“BASTIAN! FUCKING OPEN IT!!!” I scream louder. “GREYYYY!!!”
The guys run full tilt at us like we’re fucking dinner.
“FUCK!” I scream as I grab Thea, putting her behind me and prepare for the fight of my life. I call my claws and my wolfs power. I’m not going down easy. They practically stampede each other to get to us faster.
Just as they reach us, I’m grabbed by my shirt collar and pulled into the room. I land on my back and Luke slams the door shut. He pushes on it as he locks it.
The pounding of the men on the other side was so loud, I felt it in my head.
My head hits the floor. “Holy fuck.” I pant.
The Alphas are all around me. Thea falls to my side as she looks up at them.
I look at all my friends.
“If we can’t get out of here, we’re fucking dead.” I connect with the nine pairs of eyes staring right back at me.
