Chapter NINETEEN
Constance’s P.O.V
So much for being friends, I thought in my head, here I was trying to keep my promise to this boy of staying friends and now we’re making out. I held onto his arm, not wanting him to let go, kissing him felt nice, more than nice. His hand moved from my cheek to my waist and he held me tightly, he pulled me closer, I placed my hand on his shoulder.
Then we soon pulled away to get air, he leaned his forehead against mine, it was silent other than our mixed, calmed breaths. He leaned up slightly and kissed my forehead gently, I pulled away and looked up at him, then I crushed my lips against his once again, I tangled my hands in his hair, as held me by my waist.
We broke and rejoined our lips several times before we stopped and simply stared at each other with something like love, I never wanted to let go of him. He smiled at me and said quietly, “I knew you couldn’t resist me” I giggled and slapped his arm, he chuckled and smirked, then kissed my cheek.
I giggled and hugged him, “Is this what mates are like?” I asked in a quiet voice, he shrugged, “I don’t know, I’m as new to this as you are Con” I smiled at his nickname for me. I never thought I could fell this strongly about someone, he made me happy. When I saw what that witch did to him, I was ready to send her to the depths of hell.
I’ve never felt that tempted to hurt my own kind, I need to talk to Miah about this later, she can answer my questions about these feelings, I don’t even think humans can feel this strongly about someone else. The thought of him with another female made my blood boil, but I knew North would never do that to me.
I laid my head on his shoulder, thinking about the concept of mates, this was probably the most confusing thing I’ve experienced, but I didn’t hate it, at all, he was making me happy, and I think that’s all I needed right now.

North’s P.O.V
I’ve never felt this way before, the feeling of kissing Conny was like owning a castle of pure gold. I smiled at the memory of her wanting us to be friends, I knew from the start that would never happen, from what I know from mates, you’re bound to be together, there’s no avoiding it.
I could feel that she felt the same about me, she cared about me, still not love yet, but I have a feeling that will come soon. I pulled away from her and said, “I don’t know about you but I have been deprived of food for way too long” I stood, making her sigh in frustration.
“You just had to kill the mood” I laughed and walked to the door, “You can join me if you like” I offered, I heard her mumble then slowly follow after me down the stairs. I walked into the kitchen and started robbing the fridge. I heard a chair squeak and I saw Conny take a set at the huge table that sat in the middle of the room, I guess you have to have that judging by the many pack members.
I grabbed random stuff and walked over and sat next to her and started eating like a mad man, what can I say, I was hungry. I heard Conny mumble ‘pig’ under her breath which made me stop instantly and glared at her, “You’re really gonna start insulting me now?” she looked at me shocked.
“How did you hear that?” I shrugged and said going back to eating, “Werewolf hearing sweetheart, comes in handy” She sighed in annoyance and asked, “Are we really going to be the couple that uses pet names?” I chuckled and said, “So we’re a couple now? What happened to the whole friend thing” she stuck her tongue out at me and rolled her eyes.
I laughed at her anger and went back to eating, after a minute she asked in a quiet tone, “Do you remember yet?“, I knew from her tone that she hoped I didn’t, that somehow me remembering would change everything. I shook my head with a smile, trying to drown out her worry.
Before I was about to assure her that nothing will change if I do happen to remember my past, Connor walked in with a frustrated look on his face. Once he saw me he asked, “Constance, do you mind leaving for a minute?“, she nodded then stood, sending a smile my way which I returned.
Once she left I guess Connor saw it as a good time to unload everything, “Look North, I’m sorry for the witch thing but you can see how important this is right?” I nodded, “Yeah” he nodded back and began to pace. “If a Lycan did manage to escape the Vampires then they must have broken the compulsion somehow I need to know how”.
I completely understood why he needed to know, If he knew how to avoid compulsion, then that would be a straight win for the Werewolves. “Look North, I have to ask..” he paused, clearly frustrated and confused, “..Do you know anything about avoiding compulsion???“.
My thoughts then drifted back to my dream, how the vampire tried to compel me but he failed, I don’t know why Connor might. I swallowed hard and began to force the words out of my mind, questioning why Miah said it wasn’t a big deal in the first place, it made me think about why she does so many odd things for me, I’ll have to think about that later.
“Yes..” I spoke quietly, Connor’s head shot up and he looked at me with threatening eyes, I guess he assumed my answer would be a straight no. I sighed in fear,
would he be angry or happy at the truth,
only one way to find out I guess.
“It started when Constance put me to sleep...”
