Chapter NINE
North’s P.O.V
I woke to a bright light shining in my face, I hissed and moved my hand to cover my eyes. Once I was used to the light I slowly moved my hand and looked up to see trees towering above me, I turned my head and saw that I was laying in a clearing, I slowly sat up and looked around. It looked just like a plain forest, nothing more.
Then someone grabs my shoulder and yanked me back, the person that grabbed my shoulder was as pale as snow, he looked to be at least forty with pitch-black hair and red eyes. He smiled at me, showing his fangs.
I didn’t know him yet I instantly hated him, I guess it was in my nature, Werewolves do tend to hate Vampires. He let go of my shoulder and said with a glare, “Lord you dogs stink”, I was instantly offended, “Even in the supernatural world people still find a way to be racist”.
He laughed and said walking around me, scanning my appearance, “You wolves sure know how to crack a joke”, I hated his voice, the way entered my ears bothered me. “Listen to me pub, this war is getting out of hand don’t you agree?”
I turned to him and glared, refusing to give an answer, something was off about him. Then he continued, “Vampire King against the Alpha Werewolf, It will be one of the biggest wars in both our histories”.
He started walking in circles around me, “But, we can end it, you can. You see kid, you have the power to end this war with a simple wave of your hand” he began only confusing me more. I kept an eye on him to make sure he didn’t pull anything, I don’t know about you, but I don’t trust random Vampire’s that make their way into my dreams.
“All you have to do, is come to my side, I promise you will thrive on the vampire’s side, the wolves will be gone and everything will be right with the world” he raised his hands and smiled, but I wasn’t taking the bate.
I growled at him and snarled, “If you think I’ll accept that offer then you’re bad shit crazy” he looked very taken back. But he then only smiled and his eyes then went purple and he stared me dead in the eye. “The hell are you doing?” I asked stepping away from him, this guy was insane.
Then his smile dropped and his eyes turned back to normal, he looked at me in shock and horror. “H-How?!!” he questioned panicked stepping away from me, “I don’t know what the hell you’re talking about” I growled, I wasn’t turning against the people who took me in, no way in hell.
I stepped towards him and said, “I’ll never join you bloodsuckers, not until the day I die, maybe not even then” I didn’t understand this, why I suddenly decided I would die for this pack, why I was protecting them in such a way, why I denied the Vampire’s requests, it was like something inside me told me to.
“You can’t!!!” he yelled at me, I smirked at his frustration, “I can’t what Bloodsucker?“, I taunted, he huffed out a heavy breath and looked to the ground, then he looked up at me and said, “YOU WILL JOIN US!” he yelled looking straight into my eyes. But I didn’t even flinch.
“Never,” I said in a quiet yet serious voice, then the forest around me started to fade.
I opened my eyes to see the whole pack in my room, looking at me in not only in concern but fear. I rubbed my eyes and said, “What’s going on?” I questioned, Miah who was right by my side said, “You were yelling in your sleep”.
I sighed, I must have said some of those things out loud, “Oh, What did I say?“, I tried to ask casually, she sighed and said, “We couldn’t exactly tell, you mumbled a lot though” I nodded and then sat up on my elbows, “How long have I been asleep?“. I couldn’t help but feel the tension building up in this room.
“Ok, why is everything looking at me like I’m about to explode?” Connor then stepped forward, shoving Miah and everyone out of the way and grabbing me by the arm, “Answer me honestly, did you feel any different than when you fell asleep?” he said in a dark tone.
I shook my head trying to yank his arm off me, “I’m fine” I said using the same tone, why did this guy hate me so much? Miah then shoved him back with a snarl then turned and smiled at me warmly. “North, do you maybe feel the urge to leave or hurt someone?” she spoke in a calm voice.
I shook my head and said moving slightly back, away from her touch, “...No, you’re kind of scaring me, what’s going on?” I asked, panicking slightly. “It’s ok North” I felt those sparks again on my shoulder and I turned to see Constance, for some reason her presence comforted me.
“Did I do something while I was asleep?” I said looking down, Miah shook her head, “Not that we’re aware of” I sat up a little more, Constance’s hand not leaving my shoulder. “Then why are asking me these questions?“, Connor signed and turned to the pack, “He’s alright-” he turned and looked at me with caution.
“For now, back to your daily work”, he demanded walking out of the room without another word. Everyone else smiled and cheered slightly which greatly confused me, Miah glared at the door then turned to smile at me, I guess she was trying to ease my worry.
After a few moments of silence, Miah looked behind me and spoke to Constance, “Conny, would you give us a minute?” she nodded and looked at me for a few minutes, then stood up and left the room, shutting the door behind her.
‘Conny’ I thought in my head, I knew Constance was too long and serious for it to be the name everyone calls her, it suits her. I guess I didn’t catch myself being lost in thought because I came back to reality by Miah snapping in my face.
“Focus lover boy, you can think about her later” I felt heat rise to my face and I glared at Miah which only made her laugh, I then straightened up and said, “But back to seriousness, what was with all the questions, and why was everyone so cautious around me?“.
I was holding a serious stance, demanding that she tell me everything and anything I need to know, then I’ll tell her the little confrontation I had with Vampire boy.
She looked to the ground and sighed, clearly not comfortable with the situation. After a few minutes, she looked up at me. Sadness lingering in her eyes, she leaned forward and sighed,
“Well-” she spoke trying her best to smirk at me,
“Let’s start at the begging-”
