SWNOVELS Chapter 5: The Hospital
Sara, Elizabeth, and Dove had complained that their backs hurt all morning. We were outside working in the garage. Dove accidentally threw a rag and hit Elizabeth in the face. Sara started laughing at the look on Elizabeth’s face when it happened. The prospect that was watching them said they had been cleaning everything in sight.
Sara I am going to go pee I said. Alright, Dove. Then I heard oh shit. Prospect we screamed. He came running into the kitchen and looked at the floor. Shit, I will be right back. I ran out the door yelling “Code Red, Code Red” which meant it was time to go to the hospital. We ran inside the clubhouse and grabbed the suitcases the girls each packed and ran back down the stairs and put them in the trucks.
We each put our women in our own trucks and headed to the hospital. We all arrived of course at the same time. As the women were wheeled into the hospital we parked our trucks and carried the suitcases in. We were taken to the maternity ward where we waited for the delivery.
An hour later Dove was giving birth. The doctor said as the baby was screaming you have a son. Cherokee we have a son I said. He is so beautiful. What are we going to name him? I looked at him and then up at Cherokee, Falcon White Feather. In the next room, Sara gives birth to a son as well and so did Elizabeth. The men were all so happy to have sons.
I called the club to talk to Dove to be told she had the baby last night. I was ready to close the cabin down now. I hung up the phone and made the bed, shut the water, and electric off, and walked out the door locking it.
I got into the truck and drove out of the dirt road and to the hospital. I parked the truck with the box trailer and walked into the hospital. I walked into Dove’s room and talked to her. I held Falcon and told her he was a doll baby. I told her I would be back as I wanted to see Elizabeth and Sara. I talked to each woman and held their son’s. I spent 30 minutes with both of them.
I then walked back to Dove’s room and held Falcon for 30 minutes. These boys will be a handful as they grow I said. I looked at Dove and she smiled at me. I handed her son back to her. Donna, don’t go there. Don’t go to that dark place and time. Not now. I looked at Dove with such sad eyes.
Why not Dove? Bear does not want me he found someone else I said turning my back to walk to the door. Donna, will I see you again? I don’t know. I just need to be alone for a while. I don’t know if or when I will see you again. But, Dove never forget me. Never, I told her. I walked out of her hospital room door. and down the hall.
I did not see Bear and Cherokee get off their bikes or them watching me. I got into my car and drove away not caring where I went or where I ended up.
I had another month before I needed to return back to the Wild Rider MC. I had called Shadow and told him I was going away for a month. Traveling and looking at the sights. But instead, I went home to my apartment and back to work. four months later I walked out of my apartment and opened my car door to get in when a rag was placed over my mouth.
Everything went black. I woke up in a cell. Where am I? Oh sweetheart you are where you don't want to be. Who are you? I looked over at the man and he said Kelly you are here for revenge. Revenge? I don't even know you.
I know all about you though he said. And my name is not Kelly. He slapped my face and said, don't fucking lie to me. My sister pointed you out and told me you are the one who stole her boyfriend from her. I don't know what you are talking about. I didn't steal anyone's boyfriend.
I don't even date. Please let me go home. You are not going anywhere he said. I was raped repeatedly and beaten over and over. My leg was broken. My ribs were broken and one of my arms. My eyes were swollen shut. I don't even know what day it is. But one day it was quiet until I heard someone check the basement.
I heard feet walking down the stairs and men's voices. Then I heard fuck is that a woman? We yelled for Jim and he ran down the stairs. Get me a clean sheet he said. Can you hear me he asked? Yes, I barely got out. We are going to take you to the hospital. I know it is going to hurt when I lift you.
I felt myself being lifted and carried. I was laid in the back seat of a car and I felt it moving. I don't remember even arriving at the hospital. I was in a coma for three months. I didn't remember much even when I woke up. I didn't know who took me or why accept they kept saying I took the man's sister's boyfriend.
