Azian Prince of Dragons

Chapter 20 — The Neut Realm

Abigail's POV

I walked into the portal and immediately I was surrounded by numerous lights.

I took another step and all I could see was darkness and one bright light hanging above me.

I squinted my eyes to try and adjust to the sudden change.

I found myself in what looked like an alley, with a bright lamp just over where I was standing.

It was dark and shady, and I could hear loud noises ringing in the distance.

I looked over at this strange world before me.

I have never been to the human realm before but apparently my aunt did before her untimely death.

She had made a detailed account of what she had found and some witches who lived in a place called Los Angeles.

That is where I transported us to.

Hopefully, we were in the right place.

"Abi!"

I turned to see in Anna with both Edwin and Azian on either side. Just down the alley.

I run over to them and hugged Anna and then checked over the boys to see if they were okay.

"We're fine," Edwin puffed out probably irritated as I checked him for bruises.

If you did not use some teleported well, injuries could be sustained. You could even lose a limb!

But I know this portal was safe. Anyway, it wouldn't hurt to check right?'

"Are you sure you boys are okay?" I asked worried

Anna laughed, "Relax Abigail, I made sure no harm came to them."

I nodded finally satisfied.

"I'm okay, but Azian here is a little sleepy" Edwin cautioned.

I looked over to Azian whose head drooped off his shoulders in a sleepy cute way.

"Azian," I said softly.

He immediately straightened himself out, his eyes widened.

Anna and I chuckled at his cuteness.

"Someone's tired, "I hinted playfully lifting him up.

"I'm fine Abi, I'm not tired, and I'm a big bo-" he didn't even finish his sentence before his eyes closed.

I smiled slowly patting his back.

"I wonder why Azian's so tired all the time, I mean he was just sleeping a few hours ago," Anna asked.

"I don't know either, maybe he is just not used to being moved around from place to place, you know, living in a castle and what not. I'm sure he just gets drained easily," I replied taking Edwin's hand.

"So where to?" Anna asked as we slowly started walking toward the light at the end of the alley.

"I don't know for sure, but if we are in Los Angeles like I expect, then we should be looking for a woman named Ena," "Ena?"

"Yes, she apparently was a good, trusted friend to my aunt Emma on her occasional visits to the human world, my aunt wrote in her spell book that should I ever need help in the human world, I should find that woman," "But how will you know where to find her?"

"Get my spell book from my bag, "I told her.

She obeyed taking out the spell book my aunt had gifted me at the time of her death.

"Flip it till the end," I ordered.

Anna began to flip the pages until finally she reached the spot.

"Abigail my dearest," she began to read out loud.

"I have yet to tell you of all my endeavors.

You are so young my dear child and I am so old.

So I'm deciding to give you this piece of information just in case something happens to me before I can share it with you.

If you are reading this right now, then I am right to have wrote this because I have met my end.

First and foremost, it is important for me to say this.

I love you my dearest, and you are stronger than you think.

Do not ever think you are alone because in flesh or in spirit, your mother and I and all the other great witches before you shall guide you.

I love you my dearest.

I will never stop.

"Can you please skip that part? It's not really important right now. Please read the last half on the next page about the human realm," I interrupted clearing my throat nervously.

I had already read that, but it still made me emotional.

Anna looked over at me apologetically and Edwin squeezed my hand for support.

He was really too smart for his age.

Anna cleared her throat before continuing.

"And that my dearest sums up my adventures in the human world.

If ever my darling, you should need any help in the human realm, feel free to contact my most faithful friend Ena.

She lives on: 2445, Owls street, Los Angeles.

She, my dearest, will help you as she did me.

As you should know from my earlier in my letter, they are other witches that live in the Neut realm.

Ena, being one of them. After the great battle, her ancestors and some other witches were brought here.

Be sure to visits some of their communities. As mother witch, it is your duty.

I must warn you however to be very careful, I do not have time to explain, but you must ask Ena of the other creatures from our realm.

I must go now my darling, but never forget that you are most loved.

From your Aunt Emma.

"That's the end," Anna announced flipping the page over.

I nodded wanting to say something but stopped when we reached what I believe was the main road with strange things zooming on it. "What's that? Wait, are people sitting on it?" Anna asked as she saw the things zoom past the road.

Anna had never been to Paria, the only city in the Sup Realm (supernatural realm) that had cars. Well, mostly just the nobles and royals had. Even King Rodrick had a few old cars, but Anna had never really been to the palace in Riota, so she wouldn't know either.

Even so, the cars in the supernatural realm were not nearly as flashy and fast as these cars that past before our eyes.

It was a strange realm, and I had a feeling there was a lot more for us to see.

We stood by the side of the road staring blankly as the cars zoomed past us.

How where we going to get to the other side of this road? These machines moved fast. Anything could happen to us if we tried to even cross it. Plus, we had children with us.

Erania Forbid anything happens.

Anna seemed to understand the situation because she too was staring at the other side of the road with a blank expression.

"How are we going to-ugh!" She screeched as car passed by her swerving into a puddle and letting the dirty water splash all over her.

My eyes widened as she slowly turned to face me. Mud was sprinkled all over her face and front of my dress.

I bit my tongue to stop from laughing but failed miserably as both Edwin and I burst out laughing.

Anna smiled but groaned lightly trying to clean her dress.

"Excuse me ladies," a voice said.

We had been so busy laughing we hadn't noticed the strange machine or rather 'car' stop right in front of us.

A chubby looking guy with a bold head and sideburns peeped his head forward so we could get a better view of him from the window.

"Would you people like a ride?" He asked chewing on something.

Anna and I exchanged glances.

"A ride?" I echoed.

"Yes, don't you guys do know what a cab is, right?" he asked gloomily.

"A cab?" Anna repeated.

The man gave her an uninterested look, "that's what I said lady, are you coming or not. If not I must look for my next customer," he replied turning away.

"Yes!" I screeched before he could turn away. Um, yes...definitely. We will board your uh...your cab," I replied hesitantly, I do hope I said it right. He nodded leaning back in his seat.

We stood there watching him. How do you even enter this thing? Well, I guess I could see some handles much like the carriage doors.

I never really paid attention to cars back in the Sup realm. Too confusing and not important. Boy was I wrong.

He snapped his head to look at us, "well? We don't have all night!"

"Um... okay" I replied stretching my hand to pull on the lever type thing. I do hope I was doing the right thing.

I pulled it slowly and it opened.

I clapped my hands in glee and turned to Anna with a proud look on my face.

She had a huge smile on her face that screamed 'I'm proud of you!"

"Lady! I do not have time to waste!" The chubby grumpy man yelled.

I jumped at his tone, frowning slightly when Azian grumbled in his sleep.

"My apologies good sir," I said apologetically as I tried my best to squeeze in the back seat of this small yellow car.

Edwin followed after me as I made myself comfortable with Azian cradled in my arms.

Then Anna came in cradling her baby bump and making herself comfortable.

To say any of us were comfortable in the back of this machine was a big lie.

Poor Edwin, sandwiched between the two of us.

"Oh my god lady! Close the door!" The angry little troll in the front seat roared as he peered back to us.

Anna's eyes bulged quickly reaching for the door handle and slamming it shut.

"Geez!" The man replied turning around to face the front.

He made some funny movements then suddenly this machine began to move.

I had to hold on to its side as it began because I swear! There was an earthquake. I turned to face Anna who had the 'we are going to die' expression on her face.

Edwin reached for my hand slowly squeezing it as well. He looked nervous.

But after a few seconds, it actually got more comfortable, similar to a carriage back in Riota only more, comfortable and without the unnecessary bumps.

I guess we all that to the smooth roads.

"So, where you at?" He asked till chewing on something.

"Uh what?" I asked puzzled at his question.

"Where you at?" He repeated.

I looked around us confused.

Anna looked at our driver like he was deranged "At the back of your yellow death trap! What sort of question is that? You better be sane because if anything happens to this baby inside me because we let a deranged person drive us, I'll will be very-"

"What the hell you talking 'bout woman?" the diver grunted, glancing back at us, "I'm not deranged, I simply asked where you guys were heading to. Where you people from anyway?"

Anna bit her lip in what I assumed was secondhand embarrassment.

"Our apologies-" I began "Who speaks like that? And your accents, let's not even bring up your dressing. Where the hell are you ladies from?" He asked rudely cutting me off. "We come from Rio-"

"A far place, you wouldn't know it well," I cut Anna before she could continue.

He gave us a look from the front mirror, I could see his expression.

"So?"

"Mm?"

"Where to?" He asked sighing in a frustrated tone.

"Um..." I trailed off thinking.

He furrowed his eyebrows, "you ladies better have a destination and some good cash, because I don't do charity,"

"Uh cash?" Anna asked.

The car suddenly stopped almost driving us through the front window.

My heart was pounding loudly.

The guy turned to look at us questionably with a stern look.

"You do have cash right? Because if you don't have money get the hell out!" He ordered.

"Oh...money!" I exclaimed.

Anna looked at me as if it had just clicked too, "cash is money and money is cash."

The man looked at us as if we were mad.

"Here, we have plenty of money," Anna said taking out a sack of Anar (coins in the currency if the sup realm).

"What the hell is that?" The man asked

"Money, or cash, isn't that what you wanted?" Anna asked in a 'duh' way.

"Lady you better show me some freaking dollars, or you can bounce your way out if my cab" he retorted sending us a deadly glare.

"Dollars?" I repeated in a confused way.

"Bucks, greens, that don't work around here only dollars, papers like this," he said showing as a green paper leaf thingy.

"This is a dollar" he said flashing it before our eyes, "now if you ladies don't got the green do me a favor and get out," Anna and I exchanged looks.

Darn Aunt Emma! She never told me they had different money in the human realm!

"Like now!" The man roared "N-n-no, wait," I pleaded.

He sighed turning to look at us.

As you reach the final pages, remember that 000005s.org is your destination for the complete story. Share the joy of reading with others and spread the word. The next chapter is just a visit away! "We can give you your money," I began.

Anna nudged me probably wondering what I was saying.

"That's what I've been asking for the last five minutes," the man retorted.

"Can't you just make the money?" Edwin whispered I shook my head.

Magic didn't work like that.

If it did, all of us would be as rich as kings.

"Are you done wasting my time?" Grumpy concluded.

"My apologies my good sir, we just need you to take us to a friend of ours, she will gladly pay the bill. Please kind sir, we beg of you," I pleaded.

At least I hoped Ena would pay. But I won't tell Mr. Grumpy that.

The man paused for a second. The car was quiet for about two minutes before he spoke.

"Fine, where does this friend of yours live anyways?" He asked fidgeting around the front.

"Um, 2445 owls street los angles" I replied praying that we were in the right city.

The guy chuckled deeply, "you people are definitely not from around here, its Los Angeles not los angles, "he corrected as the familiar earthquake hit when the car began.

The drive took about thirty minutes with the other cars blocking the road.

Mr. Grumpy was really grumpy. He would shout out to other drivers telling them something about blocking traffic? Whatever that is.

We on the other hand didn't really need to talk. We were in awe of our surroundings.

With houses so tall it felt like they were touching the sky.

Edwin loved these houses a lot and Mr. Grumpy told him they were called skyscrapers. Then he laughed and said something about foreigners and strange folks.

We pulled into a street that was away from the so-called traffic and skyscrapers.

Well not really away, but at least here the houses weren't as tall. But they were long.

The car finally came to a halt in front of a big house attached to another house and another house and another house.

"There you go, 2445 Owls' Street Los Angeles." He began leaning back in his seat.

We all stared at the building.

"Well? Aren't you coming out?" He asked whipping his head round to face out.

"Oh," both Anna and I said at the same time, he rolled his eyes at this facing the front.

We opened the door and climbed out, Azian finally stirring up as I came out of the cab. We stood outside still staring at the building.

"Well? What are you waiting for? Go on," the chubby man coaxed.

Azian yawned lifting his head from my shoulder.

"Are we there yet?" He asked cutely rubbing his eyes.

I nodded smiling at him.

"I really don't have all night ladies!" Mr. Grumpy retorted making Azian stare at him.

The man looked frozen as he stared into Azian's ocean blue eyes.

"He is a nice man deep inside, he just doesn't like his job," Azian whispered to me.

I kind of figured that out some time back.

I knew he was nice when he didn't kick us out of his cab and drove us to our destination.

He also was friendly to Edwin during the ride.

I nodded agreeing.

"W-who is t-that?" Mr. Grumpy stuttered his eyes still fixed on Azian.

I smiled turning to Mr. Grumpy, "you do need that money for the car ride I suppose yes?" I asked.

He was snapped out if his trance when he looked to me.

"Uh...Y-yes," he said furrowing his eyebrows in a confused way turning to look at Azian who was now standing beside Edwin but facing away from the driver so Mr. Grumpy could only see his back.

"Well then, I must check if my friend is indeed abiding here," I replied as his eyebrows furrowed further into conclusion.

"Let's go boys, Anna," I said taking Azian hand, who in turn took Edwin's who held on to Anna as we walked to the steps of the building.

I breathed out nervously preparing to knock when the door suddenly flew open.

A middle-aged black woman with beautiful black curls in her hair and a head wrap stood before us.

"You're here, we've been waiting for you, mother witch," she began.

Anna and I exchanged looks.
