Awakening The Unknown

Chapter Unknown 24

KASSIDY

__________

Dinner ended not too long after Diane came up with her amazing plan to talk to our Keeper, Solanis.

The plan was simple, have Wren take me to the Afterlife plain with him.

Find Solanis, ask her everything there is to know about Stylo. Including weaknesses, strengths, and current whereabouts. If we have enough information, we could finally kill the bastard.

But what about the Alphas?

They were a major part in this too. They beat us for some sick reason, if we're able to get information about why we were chosen to get beaten as children, then maybe it would be over.

Everyone is currently in the living room, cleaning the mess the boys made. Mom and I sat back drinking lemonade and watching them bicker about who stepped on who, and put that hole in the wall.

I laughed my ass off when Kash and Wren tripped over each other's feet trying to clean the same dry wall from the floor. They both landed on their butts with a huge thud.

They brightened the mood a bit.

"I think we're all cleaned up, let's go on to bed kids." Dad concluded. With some groans of pain the boys trudged up the stairs to their designated rooms. I, on the other hand went into the kitchen for a goodnight snack.

"Kassidy, get out of the fridge!" Dad bellowed down the stairs at me.

Damnit.

I really wanted that piece of cheesecake Mom had bought from the store.

"Fine, I'm coming up." I called out, closing the fridge and climbing up the stairs and into my room.

Wren was sitting on the edge of the bed, facing away from me. He was blankly staring out my window into the night sky.

What was he thinking about?

"Mate," He called out to me.

"I asked Anais before she left for a solution to connecting to two energies into one." He said.

I walked over to him and sat next to him, leaning over and putting my head on his shoulder.

"What did she say?" I looked up at him expecting him to answer.

But he didn't.

Not right away at least.

There was a long pause before he continued.

"She said either you need to be extremely anger and almost kill everyone with your powers being released, or..." he trailed off.

There was a dark glint in his eyes, a small smirk placed itself on his lips, but disappeared as soon as it came.

"What else did she say, Wren?" I was really getting bothered with him being all discreet all of a sudden.

He looked at me through the corner of his eye and chuckled darkly.

"She said, we have to have sex." His voice turned husky and deep, sultry and sensual now.

I gulped and looked at my hands in my lap.

"She said what now?" I can't believe her.

She's always trying to get me laid.

I haven't even had a look at him completely naked.

"Don't you want this?" He was leaned over now.

His hands sneakily wrapped around my waist and hoisted me onto his lap. Face to face, with our hips to each other's hips.

"I-I...uh..." I kept stammering like I was stuck on repeat.

I had my hands in my lap again, while Wren's were on my waist, sliding down to cup my shorts clad butt.

"Cat got your tongue, darlin'?" He smirked and pulled me closer to him. A gasp passes my lips at his movement, placing me flush against him.

All of him.

My face was heated with red cheeks, a familiar warmth spread throughout my body at the contact we had. We can't do this now. And definitely not here on this plain.

Did I really want to do this?

I only wanted to mate when I was ready and actually loved the person I was doing it with?

Do I love Wren?

Does he love me?

"Stop thinking. We don't have to it just yet," his gingers pushed back a strand of my hair behind my ear. Leaving behind little, soft shocks of electricity behind.

"I want you to be comfortable enough in our relationship first. Then when you are," his voice got even deeper, his cheek pressed against mine and his lips brushed my ear.

"I will devour you entirely, pound into you all night night long to the point where you would go mentally retarded. Then, I would kiss every inch, curve and dip of your body, leaving my mark on you."

His lips moved down my jaw with light feathered movements to the crook of my neck.

"Right here." He kissed the junction and licked the spot he kissed, sending warmth down to my very core.

He was very persuasive.

"Look, Wren, shouldn't we wait, and find out more about each other-" I was so rudely interrupted by the window in my room shattering and sending the glass straight for us.

Wind blew us against the opposite wall that we weren't facing.

Wren broke my fall by wrapping his arms around me and holding me close as we came crashing into the wall.

"Are you okay, Mate?" Wren asked sitting up with me in his arms. Glass shards fell from his hair and body onto the floor.

"Yeah, I'm alright how about you?" He has a small cut on his forehead, nothing major though.

Dad burst into the room in his plaid pajama bottoms and white t-shirt.

"What's happening, are you okay? Are you injured-" I cut him off from furthering his bombardment of questioning me.

"Yeah, Dad, I'm fine, but Wren has a cut on his head that may need to be looked at." I sat up and stood up from the floor, as did Wren.

We brushed off the broken glass shards and examined the damage to my beautiful window.

Why is it always that window, why not someone else's window?

"Look," Dad pointed to a folded piece of notebook paper on the floor.

"Was that there before, or after the glass broke?" He asked.

"After." Wren answered with a scratch to the back of his head.

He seemed pissed off, probably more about the fact he didn't get to further pursue me than my window breaking open by obvious magic and getting thrown into a wall.

I rolled my eyes at the thought and looked around. Mom was standing in the door frame in her silk night gown and robe wrapped around her. Kash and Ben stumbled into the scene too, mumbling incoherent words about sleeping.

"Are you guys okay, did any other window get burst we open with magic, or was it just mine?" I exasperated, everyone stifled their laughter and shook their heads no.

"Sorry, honey, but yours was the only room that got hit. We heard the noise and came here." Mom explained.

Just great.

Dad read over the piece of paper with scrunched together eyebrows. I walked over and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"What's it say, Dad?" He shook his head and sighed with frustration.

"He says:

'Everything is set for action, only a short while before I have what's mine. Either come willingly when I come for you, or have the pack as you know it destroyed. Including Theo and Helena'." He ran a hand through his dark brown greying locks.

This is so messed up.

But how did he know about Theo and Helena?

Why is Stylo doing this to us?

Why do this to me?

Wren looked ready to kill again, his eyes had a searing hatred boiling over. I hope he can control it, because if not...

I'll lose him.

"Can we get this cleaned up, I can sleep downstairs tonight in the living room."

I turned to Wren,"that good with you?" I ask, he responds with a curt nod and goes downstairs to bring back the broom and dustpan.

Dad nodded to Wren and left with Mom. Kash and Ben stayed with us, reading over the note from Stylo.

"You sure you're okay?" Kash asks wrapping his large arms around me. Squeezing him back, I answered truthfully.

"Honestly, I don't know how to feel. Angry, worried, scared, I just want answers to all of this. I mean, we got some, but not all, and that makes it more infuriating." I sigh and lean more into my twin's hug.

"We'll protect you, I know you don't have full control over your powers and that can be fatal to you. So being the big brother I am, I'll protect you from the monsters that come for you, okay?" Kash kissed my hair and stepped back a bit to see my face.

I nod and gave a small smile.

"Yeah, I'll let the three big bad wolves save me from who knows." He chuckled and I can't help but laugh too.

"Don't think I haven't forgot about that thing, Kash." I raise my brow at him and narrow my eyes.

"What thing, Kash?" Ben asked. It's so weird hearing him talk so much. Ben wasn't a man of many words, he was always silently brooding. But recently, he's been more chatty.

Kash's cheeks heat up with a blush and his eye widen.

"What thing? T-there's no t-thing." He stammered nervously.

"What were you guys talking about?" Ben asked again. I swear I never seen my brother blush so red before in my life.

"N-nothing going on here!" He averts his eyes from Ben and glares daggers at me.

"I'll get you back for this." He whisper-yells. I just giggle in response to his antics.

"Yeah, okay my dear twin brother." I smile at him and pat his shoulder.

"Are you guys in your room or the living room?" I wondered.

"Oh, we were in Kash's room." Ben answered for him. Kash blushed yet again.

"Are you okay, Kash?" Ben asked, he walked over and put his large hand on Kash's forehead.

"You're burning up. I think you should go lay down. I'll take him. Goodnight." Ben nodded to Wren and grabbed Kash's hand and dragged him out of the room with a blush still lingering on his cheeks.

"Goodnight!" I called out. Before I could turn around, familiar warm arms wrapped around my waist.

"You ready, Mate?" Wren husked into my ear. I nod my head and step out from his embrace to go downstairs, Wren right behind me.

As I made my way into the living room, I walked over into the hall closet and grabbed some blankets and pillows for us to use. Wren was already plopped down on the couch scanning through Netflix for something to watch.

"Want anything to eat?" I ask, he shakes his head no and motions me over.

I sit next to him, but he picks me up and sits me on his lap with my head on his chest. His arms wrapped around my frame, his face in my neck.

"I just want you in my arms for now." He says, I nod and curl into him more.

He kissed my cheek then put his index finger under my chin, beckoning me to look him in the eyes.

Those blazing reds will be the death of me.

I lean forward and he does the same, crashing his lips onto mine. Turning so that I straddled his lap and slipping his tongue into my mouth, tasting my being.

I grabbed the back of his neck, deepening the kiss more. My fingers curled into his chestnut locks causing a growl to leave his throat. But he ends up pulling away, to my dismay. He gives me one final soft peck on my lips and lays us down.

"Sleep well, Mate, because you'll need it tomorrow." He mumbles from behind me.

"What for, Wren?" I ask. He only wraps his arms tighter around my waist and pulls me closer.

His hips pressed against my back side. His face in my neck, his soft breathing hitting my neck, sending shivers through my body. Making me arch towards him more, he growled and tightened his grip even more.

"Don't do that, Mate. Unless you want me to take you on this couch while everyone else is sleeping upstairs." His voice was husky in my ear.

"We can't do that." I tell him, still facing away from him towards the tv.

"Not yet at least." I whispered.

There was silence.

Wren huffed out a breath and sighed.

"Don't you trust me, I understand that you've only just accepted me officially about a month or two ago, but we've already been through things that most couples haven't. Why wait and hold back, the bond will strengthen us as a couple and as well as our powers." He explained.

I never knew that, but I don't know what to do for the mating bond ritual.

"Did Anais tell you what we had to do, you know, for your powers to crossover into one energy?" I sheepishly asked.

Luckily I wasn't facing him because my face was on fire with crimson cheeks at just the talk about it.

He chuckled and spoke.

"Yes, there is a process, but ours is different from the typical mating. Our bond must be built up by with our powers. Like with our first kiss. My powers activated yours, and yours could activate mine, but you need to be trained more. We'll be taking a trip to the Afterlife plain and train there since it takes energy and it's dangerous." He explained again.

"I get it, but what else?" I need to know everything before I jump in a bed with him.

"Later, Mate. For now, we sleep, I'll contact Solanis and tell her that we'll be using her training field." He says.

"Wait, we could use them whenever we want to?" I say in disbelief.

That's news to me.

"Sleep, Mate. We will talk more tomorrow. I will train you since Solanis is busy helping keep balance to the universe and whatever it is she does." He mumbled snuggling his face further into my neck.

"Okay, Wren. Goodnight." I turned and kissed his forehead.

"Goodnight, Mate." He gripped my waist more and wrapped his legs in between my own.

One hand crept under my sweater, softly caressing the warm skin on my hip.

Soon after, sleep consumed me. But before I closed my eyes, I saw a dark figure in the hallway.

It looked...sad.

I opened my eyes more to get a better look but it was gone.

Must be my imagination.
