Ava- Ever Green Series Book Two

Chapter 16

Ava woke up with still sleeping in her eyes and saw Selma and Margo being gone. She shook Serena awake.

“What?” Serena grouchily said, still half asleep.

Thomas woke up and saw his sister freaking out. He wasn’t worried about anything and saw the binding spell notes were gone.

“Ava. Stop freaking out. They went to bind Margo’s magic.” Thomas said.

Ava stopped freaking out and said, “Oh”

During all that, the doorknob started turning, and both Selma and Margo were walking through the door. Everyone has their eyes on them when they enter the room. Both Selma and Margo were smiling.

Thomas got up and asked,” Did it work?”

“Yes, it did work. I don’t have magic right now. My magic is dormant.” Margo explained.

Margo looked at Selma. Clearly, I do not want her to say any details about the binding process to the others. Both girls went into the room as if nothing had happened. Guessing it was for the best not to know what happened after Selma binder Margo’s powers to keep her safe.

“I don’t sense any magic coming off of you anymore” Ava stated.

“It means the spell worked,” Selma replied.

“But for how long will her magic stay dormant?” Thomas asked.

“The spell permanently binds her magic. So, the council will be able to determine whether to find her or not. The trackers will be able to scent her witch status on her still by her blood.” Selma instructed the others.

“Will it work on werewolves?” Ava asked out of curiosity.

“Maybe,” Selma said.

Ava could not place why her curiosity about being dormant would be best for her. She decided to ask Selma in private if she could try it on her when the others were busy doing something else. Coming over to the couch, Selma was researching if other species could work with the binding spell.

“Did you find anything new about the binding spell working on other species?” Ava asked while sitting down next to Selma.

“It could work on shifters but not vampires” Selma informed Ava.

“I am willing to be the guinea pig to see if it works” Ava suggests.

“Are you sure?” Selma asked, completely unsure of Ava’s decision.

“Yes, I am sure.” Ava nodded, “I want to do this. I want to be normal again.”

“Okay, but rest up. Because we are both going to be using a lot of energy” Selma insisted.

The group spent most of the day in the hotel room and only went out to grab food for the rest of their stay. Ava was nervous knowing she might lose her wolf permanently or temporarily by going through with the binding. It was for the best.

Selma and Ava had to wait until the others went to bed before they could do the binding spell. Ava felt her eyes begin to close until Selma tapped on her shoulder. Selma motioned for her to follow her. Ava followed Selma to a secluded area by the hotel.

“What are we doing?” Ava asked.

“We need to slice our palms with the dagger and read the spell. Then be login chant and grasp out palms together. Got it?” Selma instructed.

Selma grabbed Ava’s hand , took the dagger, and then slice it. She did the same to hers. Then, she began chanting the spell. Ava began to feel a buzz in the air. She felt her wolf start to rise to the surface. Her skin started bubbling, and then nothing happened. Aba began chanting the spell as well. Selma took her palm and then grasped Ava’s hand. She placed th3m together. There was a blue glow coming from their hands. Then, the blue glow began to fade. Ava began to feel woozy and passed out.

“Ava” Selma suddenly freaked out.

Selma ran back to the room and got Thomas up. Thomas followed Selma to the secluded area. They both were freaking out.

“What were you thinking trying the spell on a werewolf?” Thomas angrily said.

“I didn’t expect it to happen. I saw her skin start to bubble, and there was a blue glow coming from our hands. Then this happened.” Selma explained.

Thomas bent to pick up his sister and took her back to the room. Selma gathered the spell and notes. She ran after Thomas back to the room. Thomas placed Ava on the couch. He didn’t say anything to Selma. Then, he grabbed a damp cloth and placed it on Ava’s head.

Serena and Margo both woke up to see what the commotion was about. Looking at Ava passed out on the couch. Knowing something happened to her while doing the binding spell. Thomas was still pissed off and didn’t say anything to anyone.

Ava was still passed out for the next four hours. She didn’t begin to stir until she felt her brother near her. Trying to get up, Thomas pushed her to sit back down.

“I feel different somehow. Like my wolf is still under the surface but not awake. I only feel the silence.” Ava told Thomas.

“The spell worked somehow but didn’t at the same time? “Thomas asked.

Thomas looked at Selma. He was waiting for her to some initial information about Ava. Selma didn’t say anything at all.

B. “She did say it might work or might not. Selma only did this twice with just Ava and me. So, don’t push her anymore, Thomas.” Margo suggested.

Ava was still not sure how she felt, but she was different. She was off with her and could not place it for any reason. Her wolf was there under her skin, but she did not feel it stir at all. She realized that she was a dormant werewolf.
