Yesterday, I fell asleep and didn’t wake up before 6:30 in the morning. Right now, it’s 7:30 and we are taking our breakfast with my parents, my beta and his family and my gammas. We are in my private kitchen, generally, we eating all our meals with the pack but we need to speak about what happened yesterday and how to deal with Anna-Lynn. I start to pace in the room, my mind full of questions and worries.

“You should sit and not pacing like that, it’s not good for you my dear boy,” Says my mom.

“I’m fine, mom!” Since I’m sick it’s like I’m her little boy.

I miss my wolf’s comments, I’m still feeling him but it’s so faded. Even if I have a strong wolf, we have good harmony. He is really my other part. We disagreed rarely, I’m really lucky. When we met Nora, he recognized right away her as ours. We were looking for a Luna for so long and Nora was the obvious choice for both of us. Even now, that his true mate is here I can feel all is worries and love are for Nora and only her. We both bonded with her. She is the love of our life. Only she can calm down my wolf when we are out of rage which not happens often, thank god!

“What do we know about the Alphas who were there?” I ask directly to Aiden and Collin.

“ Alpha Ezra is the Alpha of the Dark Moon Pack. It’s a powerful pack but nothing we need to worry about. Rumors say, Doctor Farnsworth, who is a specialist in poison, is his mate. Apparently, she doesn’t want to quit her job as a doctor to become his Luna.” Says Collin.


”Alpha Chris and Alpha Darius are from the Blue Moon Pack. They’re co-leading their pack, which a lot of Alphas are against by the way. Alpha Darius’ mate is Veronica and she is the only luna, Luna Moira died 10 years ago in a rogue attack. She was Alpha Chris’s true mate. He also has a daughter, but there is not a lot of information about her. The last few years their pack is winning strong but they don’t pose a threat for us.” Answer Aiden. “As for how Anna-Lynn knows them we don’t know yet. I check her phone and her bank account to know more about where she went but she had changed her phone number and last time she paid something was more than 9 years ago. For now, I don’t know what she did and where she went since she left the pack.”

“ I think she is fucking the older Alpha, that how they know each other. Before their left, he and Alpha Darius asked to see her, they refused to leave without saying goodbye to her so we passed by her cabin after Alpha Ezra and Doctor Farnsworth left by the east border. They seemed really close and he even kissed her before to leave.” Says Connor.

“ I didn’t imagine that she was so desperate. She has to really power angry to sleep with a man who could be her father. We need to be careful.” Says Aiden.

Clearly she has no shame, unbelievable. I don’t know why Moon Goddess pairs me with that vile woman.


”She is really determined to be the Luna for the next month. She wants your father to help with that.” My mother tells me.

“It’s not her job! She has nothing to do here!” Says Nora outraged.

“I know but she saves our pack yesterday and if she not staying we are breaking the deal with have with Alpha Markus.” Answers my father before turning toward me.” Moreover, you should enjoy this time to recover son, you need it. We need you to become again the strong Alpha you are. I will be with her all the time and will let you know everything.”

I don’t like to feel that I have no choice... “ Okay, but I don’t want her to have access to confidential information and I want to be aware of all the things she wants to do with my pack. Aiden I want you to dig deeper, I want to know everything she did for the last 9 years. Every small detail maybe we will find what she is really expecting for all of this.”

“ On it, Alpha.” he told me, picking up his coffee.

Damn, I miss coffee! The doctor said that was not good for me so Nora and my mother don’t let me drink any cup. God, I can wait to feel better.

“ Maybe, I can help with that. I can try to see through her mind.” Says Nora.

Nora was gifted and she can spy in the mind of other people. It’s really useful. She just has to let people ingest her blood and she can go in their mind. She is created a link with others by her blood. Few drops are enough which is good because with the wolf’s smell it would be not easy to hide if more was needed. It helps us often.


”I don’t know Honey, you have enough with Alistair right now. He has a strong spirit and drains you a lot. I don’t think it’s a good idea for you to enter another mind.” I tell her. She’s not really happy with my answer.


”I need to know that she is not a menace for me. My wolf will have not to rest before I know she doesn’t want you back. Maybe she is here for revenge. I don’t know but it’s worrying me too much to focus on something else.”


”Okay, let try at lunchtime.” I answer her.


”At why time I have to meet her?” Ask my father to my mother.

“8:00 in front of Liam office.” She said. She smiles proud of herself even if my father looks at her with disapproval. “ What that little brat can wait!” She adds for her defense.

Yeah, it’s already 8:25. A moment like that, I really love my mother. She is the best! Normally it’s the Luna who is pragmatic because she is the balance with the Alpha and is a strong temper. For my parents, it’s quite the opposite my mother is losing her temper so much easier than my father. She is unique and strong willing. I always admired their love and when I discover that Anna-Lynn was my mate, I was afraid to not know the same love... Nora gave me that love when I had resigned myself to find it.

“ You go to bed!” Adds my mother.

Ah!!! She is so boring. Come one I’m not 5 years old anymore. I want to protest but Nora is already guiding me to our room. Forget all I just said about her!

Lunch was a disaster. Not only Anna-Lynn didn’t drink anything, and she also humiliated me in front of my pack’s members. That bitch. I’m in my bed. I’m supposed to rest and sleep. Instead, I’m fuming alone, in my fucking room when I’m supposed to be leading my pack!!!! I wish I could shift. Running is a good way to cool down for me. I love the smell of the forest and its noises.

I asked Collin to follow Anna-Lynn 24/7. He was not happy but he needs to change in mind with what happens a few weeks ago... He and Connor are twins, it’s barely seen in the werewolf world. They are identical twins which are even rarer. The problem is they share the same mate – Piper. Collin met her a year ago while visiting another pack. They both felt the mate pull right away. He marked and mate her the same day they met. When they came back Connor also felt the mate pull. In the beginning, they succeed to live like that but after 6 months it was too much for her to manage. She has chosen Connor instead of Collin because the mate pull was stronger toward him. He remarked her and Collin’s mark fade away. It was really hard for him and he decided to move back with his parents away from the packhouse, away from them and their happiness.

What they didn’t know was that she was already pregnant. She gave birth a month and a half ago and Connor wolf rejected the baby. It was Collin’s daughter. Piper rejected her too because she was a reminder of her mistake. It was too much for Collin, we didn’t see for 2 weeks and now he barely speaks to his brother and doesn’t even want to see Piper. He kept the baby and his parents help him with her but I can see him struggle. He needs to focus on something else and a mission is the best solution for him now.

It’s 4:00 which means Tom will be at home soon. I can’t wait to see him I will be for sure the distraction that I need. He is a real smart boy, full of energy. I want him to keep his innocence as long as possible. I will grow already too fast.

Someone is knocking, here go my little Tasmanian devil. Weird normally he enters the room without knocking. Well, it’s my Father and Jake - my Omega. That explains the knocking before entering...

“What are you doing here? Why are you not with Anna-Lynn?”

“She left. She expected furniture for her cabin. They called her to say they were here so she left. Collin is watching her.” Answer my father.

“Alpha, she ordered me to chance the patrol rotation. She thinks it too predictable and it’s a danger for the pack.” Says James. “ What do we do?”

Goddamit! Who she thinks she is! “ We never have any problems, I don’t see why we should change anything!” She knows how to get under my skin. We are 87 ways to do the patrols, and we rotated them. We succeeded to block every rogue attack. We are one of the safest packs in the world. For the last 50 years, no one died in a rogue attack. This system works why does she want to change it?

“She thinks it’s not efficient because we’re rotating our patrols always in the same way. She said it works with rogue because they don’t take the time needed to create a strategy but we should be worried about a patient enemy that will take all his time to plan his attack.” Adds James


“This is total bull shit!” I’m thinking aloud.

“She said the fact someone was able to poison you prove we already a breach. She also thinks we have a mole. She asked to have access to our archive to see if she can find who it could be. She also thinks we need to be in guard with Alpha Markus. It’s not a hazard that you were poisoned a few days before the fight. She said that we need to find how you were poisoned. Personally I don’t think we need to change our patrol system but I do agree with her about the fact we need to know how someone was able to poison you and if we have a mole.” Says my father.

“ We already look at that, why she will be able to resolve this mystery when we didn’t succeed.” I don’t know what she is playing. “James, We don’t change our patrols system but propose another plan of patrol like that she will believe you are following her idea. It will do the job for the next month. Do you have anything to report before to leave?”

”Yes Alpha. Yesterday when Alpha Markus was there. They were an incident in the hospital. Few of his pack’s members try to enter in the west wing. When Cooper and Dante stopped them, they just said there were lost and were looking for the restroom.”


“Didn’t they steal something or did something specific?” I ask him.

“No. They didn’t have time to do anything before to be caught.”

“Thank you, James. You may go.”

“Thank you, Alpha. Recover quickly we miss you.” He says before leaving my room.

“Well this is weird, what or who do we have they want?” Ask my father.

“We don’t have anything is empty we don’t use this wing anymore. There is no one now except Alistair...” The truth drowns me. “ They were here for him? Do you think they wanted to free him?”

“I don’t know? But if they were there for him, the question is how did they know where to find him? Only a few people know he is there... We should let Anna-Lynn have access to your archives, maybe she will find something we didn’t see. At the same time, she will not stick her nose where she shouldn’t.” My father says.

“You’re right like she will not have access to our strategic data. I will also mind-link the pack to let them know she is available for every request they have. She should have her hands full.”

“That a good idea! She also said that you should move your office downstairs: “In case of attack it’s complicated to jump by the window on the second floor.” He says making air quote for his sentence. She should mind her own business.

“Daddy!!!” Screams Tom entering my room without knocking. Ah! There is my little Tasmanian devil! “Grandpa!!”

“Hey, buddy! How was your day? I miss you, little man!”

“ I need to go, see you both at dinner.” says my father before leaving.
