SWNOVELS Chapter 5: Forbidden Mountains
The next zone was back in a different time period. There were actual dinosaurs there! We started walking through the valley until we saw a very distinguished Brachiosaurus. Assuming that was Pete, because of how tall he was, we walked up to him.
“Hello, Pete? My name is Anjulina. My friends and I are on a journey to save this world. We were told to talk to you.”
“Ah yes. All I have to say to you is, be careful about what you see. For every image may be deceived.”
“What is that supposed to mean?” B impatiently asked.
“Things may not appear as they seem. Just be careful with what and who you trust.”
Taylor went off to go in the water as Brooke and I walked around a little. This trip was very tiring! We found a rock and sat watching Taylor swim about in the water.
Pete came up to us a few moments later. “Follow me.” He said. “I’ll show you where to go.”
We let Taylor hangout in the water while we went with Pete. We walked for about 15 minutes in the forest before he turned to us.
“Just take that path right there.” He gestured toward a narrow dirt path.
“Where will this lead?” I ASKED. All I got was silence. “Pete?”
“It will take you where you need to go.”
“Do you know how long we should walk the road until we will be where we’re supposed to be?”
“You’ll know.” He replied
“Okay well let me go get Taylor so she can follow!” I ran back to the valley. “Taylor!” she looked up. “Pete is showing us where to go, he’s in the woods with Brooke right now waiting for us.”
“No he’s not; he’s right over there drinking from the stream. He’s been there the whole time.” I looked over at the stream and saw Pete.
“Then who did we follow?” I thought about it. “I’ll be right back! Try to turn back as much as you can before Bee and I return!” I ran in to the woods to find Brooke sitting on a rock all alone.
“What’s wrong?” She asked me.
“That wasn’t Pete!”
“What’d you mean?”
“That was an imposter! We have got to leave now!” I grabbed her arm and ran back to the stream. Taylor was trying to turn back to human.
We told the real Pete what happened. He quickly became paranoid, looking around in every direction. “Oh now, I hope it isn’t happening already!” he said in fear. “Follow the stream to Dream Land and be careful! You’ll know who you are looking for the moment you see her!” We quickly left and headed to the next territory. Things were just getting weirder and weirder.
