An Alpha's Charge

Chapter 21

Isaiah’s Visit

Isaiah had been all over the U.S., and with no luck, he was no closer to finding his grandson. He went on a killing spree against humans and some supernaturals. He was enraged as the mutts would hide his grandson.

Brody did his best to hide Abram so he could not be found. He masked their scents till he mated with Garrett, but he wanted to wait till they got used to the pack, Garrett himself and felt safe enough to let him walk around and play with other kids his age.

After two months of being with Garrett, he said it was time for him to complete the mating process by marking each other, but something else was eating at him, and it was as if his mate would accept Abram as a son.

“Garrett, what did you think of Abram?

“I consider him my nephew, but to be perfectly honest, I want to adopt him as my son if you both agree to change his last name to mine and if you will have me as your husband and life partner?”

“Oh, my goodness, I will marry you and be your life partner. Abram, what are your thoughts.”

“Uncle Garrett, I want to be your son; will you adopt me so I can call you dad and not Uncle Garrett anymore?”

“Well, what are we waiting for then? I will set everything up, but if I know Lane, she will want to oversee the decorations and design.” Garrett laughed.

“I can also help her with that; you get everything else.”

“What about the legal documents for the adoption of Abram? I will ask Ramiel where we can get the marriage certificate and ask him about the adoption papers, if I can get them or if you must be the one since you are his legal guardian? And we will simultaneously ensure that we adopt him as our son the day we are married.”

“That would be perfect; I have his birth records and the papers that state that I am his only legal guardian and am allowed to adopt him as my own.”

“We will need those; put them in a safe place.”

“Ramiel has them in his safe for me. I cannot afford to lose them or him.”

“We won’t, and this pack will fight for you both, and so will I love.”

“How soon do you want to get married, darling?”

“Today? Just kidding, how about this weekend?”

“Perfect, I will talk to Ramiel and Lane and let them know what we plan to do. Now get going and start planning.”

They kissed each other and went their separate ways; one went to see Lane, the other went to see Ramiel, and they each explained what they wanted and needed help planning and the paperwork required for marriage and adoption.

Ramiel got everything set up that was needed for the adoption and had their local judge sign off all the papers. With shifters, it was a little different, and they did not need to go through all the red tape like normal humans have to go through.

It was final with the shifters or supernaturals, and nobody could contest it, including Isaiah. His daughter did not want him near her son, which would stop him. He also got the food for the BBQ and party; Lane could do the rest.

The week went by quickly, and before they knew it, the wedding day was upon them. Everyone worked together to set up the stage, the tables, and the buffet-style food tables. Ramiel and Lane provided the meat; everyone else brought a dish to share.

This is one big happy family. They protect each other, fight for each other, and lay down their life for each other.

Once the wedding was finished, all the papers were signed and filed with the necessary people. Ramiel ensured he had the duplicate documents if something happened to his family.

It only took a few days after the wedding and adoption for Isaiah to appear to the pack. Abram was already starting to show some of his powers as an angel, and he was scared when he saw what was coming and what could happen.

Abram came running up to both dads, who were talking to Ramiel. He was yelling ‘Dad, poppa’ when he got their attention. He was out of breath trying to catch it from running to the offices.

“I had a vision; it needs to stop now! He is going to take me and kill me, and I do not want to go; please do not let him take me, please?” Abram broke down in tears.

“Baby, who are you talking about?”

“Isaiah is mean and will kill everyone here if you do not let him take me. But he will kill me once he takes me.”

“When is he coming? We can head him off in the direction he is coming?” Garrett asked his son.

“He comes from the southern border with two other people. He will be here within the hour.”

“Okay, Brody, you take him and get into the shelter. I linked all the warriors; they are heading that way now; the others stay behind to protect our shelter. Cover his scent in pine, mulberry, and mud over that. Hurry up and get going.”

They ran up to the border, where they met Isaiah, and he was furious. The hatred radiated off him in droves, and you could see it rippling. If they stepped on their land, they had every right to rip him apart piece by piece. Lane was standing beside some of her family when she yelled at him to stop using her alpha voice.

“I do not take orders from a woman and get out of my way so I can get my grandson and leave.”

“You cross onto our land; we will rip you to shreds, and don’t think we will not do it.” She advised.

“Who are you, the pack slut? I have heard about you, Lane Alexander.”

My name is no longer Lane Alexander, and if you must know, I am the alpha female of this pack. What my husband and I say goes. You have a problem with alpha females?”

“All of you females are only good for cooking and being pregnant. Now move out of my way.”

“I will not warn you again, Isaiah, you will not step foot on this land, or you and your men will pay the consequences.”

He stepped foot on their land, and before he could do anything, he and his two men were torn apart by Ramiel and the warriors. She started a fire to burn them in the field as they did not deserve to be buried.

When they were finished, they returned to get the others out of the shelter, and Garrett took hold of Brody and their son hugging and kissing them.

“It’s over. He will never bother us again, never come take you away, my son.”

“Thank you, Daddy, for saving our family and me,” Abraham said.
