Alpha's Surrogate

Alpha’s Surrogate Chapter 74

Alpha’s Surrogate Chapter 74
Alfred stretched his arms over his head in boredom while he watched Petra and Orion’s bodies being dragged away by one of
his men. His presence here had finally served its purpose. He had called Zander a few hours earlier to arrange a meeting in
order to discuss Adira and Kiara, but instead, the Vampire King was thrilled by the excellent news that the person who had been
killing his people and framing the Sirius Bright Pack’s wolves was on their territory.
The ecstatic Vampire King hadn’t been able to help himself, he had arrived with a special present for Petra and Orion. He had
kept that unique gadget containing vampire venom and insect, which he gave to Zander to kill Orion.
Alfred had an equal right to kill them since he had lost many vampires at their hands. But seeing the twins had been the ones
who had caught them, they had the right to unleash their rage first. Too bad Petra and Orion had died, but the King’s game was
not over yet.
He now owned their corpses after their deaths. Zander had consented to giving them to him without wondering what he was
going to do with them. Without a doubt, it was going to be horrifying! The vampires were merciless. It was clear from the way his
red eyes darted over them. The others were terrified.
“Now I must take my leave. I must admit it was a fun wedding,” the King smiled as he glanced at Zander and Adira.
The time and situation was not suitable for him to discuss anything. The Alpha couple observed him rising from his chair. Even
though they had been in a battle zone surrounded by dead bodies, he had not allowed his comment to bother him in the least.
After all, the legendary Vampire King Alfred was a cold-blooded vampire.
Kane had arranged a special chair for him earlier, that he had sipped his glass of blood while watching his adversaries die from.
He had found it amusing how Xavier and Zander killed Petra and Orion. He enjoyed their anguish and tears. By killing Petra’s
wolf, Xavier had stopped her rebirth! Now she was never going to be blessed with the next life!
“Why don’t you stay for a while? Soon there will be a buffet. I would like to thank you for saving me and everything,” Adira walked
closer to the King while still keepinga safe distance. Alfred returned his gaze to her face, recalling what he had been keeping
secret in his heart. Before returning his gaze to her mate, who stood possessively behind her. These twin boys were still giving
him a cold look.
“So sweet. Such a beauty wants to thank me and pay me back? Even my dead heart will curse me if I refuse” Alfred winked with
a cunning smile, yet his tone was flirtatious.

Adira couldn’t help but giggle. He appeared to be dangerous, but he was also suave and devilishly handsome! Zander quickly
became alarmed, and drew Adira to his chest, practically concealing her from the other man’s eyes.
“Don’t you dare to flirt with my mate!” He snarled, drawing Adira’s focus to him. This man was being so jealous!
It was so easy to provoke him. She bit her lower l!p to hide her smile as she noticed him gritting his teeth at his so-called uncle.
Kiara had told her everything she knew about the twins’ relationship with King Alfred.
“Flirting? Do you really think that I am flirting with you, beautiful?” The King leaned in closer to Adira, but Zander buried her face
farther into his chest, issuing a final warning growl to the King. He just chuckled and smiled at his nephew.
“Joking aside, I would consider staying but there is something holding me back. So I must leave,” he explained.
After all, the King did not like to stay among living beings.
“How can you boldly refuse my granddaughter-in-mate’s request, Alfred?!” Stephen snapped at his friend, who had not aged a
day since they met. They both narrowed their eyes at each other.
“Don’t tell me, you want me to stay and later face you in a game of chess! You have to admit you suck at chess, Stephen,” Alfred
sneered.
“That was in the old days,” the old wolf countered.
“Yeah, but you still suck,” the King smirked.
Adira was taken aback to witness both of them snapping at each other. She looked up at her mate, who stood behind her with a
bored expression while watching the old men.
Zander gave her a look that said, ‘Don’t pay attention to them. It’s a common occurrence.’
That was when the king’s red eyes were drawn to something that piqued his curiosity.
“Who is this little one?” Alfred picked Meow up in his arms, who had now come in search of her mistress.
“She is Meow” Zander replied, as he rested his hand on Adira’s belly. The King was surprised to find a pet in this pack.
“I should warn you that she is a moody, rebellious, foul mouth little feline that belongs to these girls, so be careful while holding
her. Otherwise these ladies will take a bite out of your as*s,” the Alpha warned, earning a sharp elbow to his side.

“Who told you to say all of that?” Adira gritted her teeth, giving him another hard hit. The King and Stephen laughed as the Alpha
obediently took his punishment until Adira felt a small pain in her stomach.
“What’s wrong?!” Zander panicked.
“Nothing, I felt a small pain,” she hissed.
“Let’s go to the doctor, Adira,’ he panicked, holding her hand tightly. They had not had a chance to have an examination of the
baby due to the mess that they had been trying to clear for some time now.
Zander had already started mind-linking the Doctors.
“Zander, I am fine. Don’t worry. I want to be here with our family,” she smiled as the slight discomfort had subsided.
It was just enough discomfort for her to feel like it was normal.
“Are you sure?” He rubbed his hand over her belly.
“Yes,” she smiled, getting a soft kis*s on her l!ps.
“But I still think we will go to the Doctor:”
“Let’s go,” Zander scooped her up in his arms. Adira smiled, wrapping her arms around his neck and leaned into his chest. At the
end of the day, everyone was happy. She closed her eyes and enjoyed the special treatment from her mate until they heard their
siblings.
“Let’s go home, Xavier” she murmured.
“Yes, let’s go,” he smiled, ki*ssing her forehead. Kiara smiled back and was ready to go inside, but that was when she noticed
Xavier’s neck. The Alpha stopped and looked back at her.
“What’s wrong?” He asked, still smiling at her.
“Xavier, where is your mate mark?” Kiara murmured quietly. Mark? The Alpha c****d his brows, putting his hand over his neck
where his mate mark should have been. The ears of Adira and Zander perked up in surprise. Everyone’s gaze was drawn to
Xavier’s neck, only to discover that Kiara’s claim was correct.

Xavier attempted to find his mark again and again, but it had completely vanished. What in the world had happened? He hadn’t
even noticed it go away. There had been no discomfort or itching. It was just an unmarked neck!
Kiara’s eyes widened in astonishment. She’d never heard of a mated wolf’s mark fading in her entire life. How did this happen? A
mate mark never goes away unless your soulmate dies or you reject them. The Alpha couple had not experienced either of those
circumstances, which made it one of the most unexpected and terrifying occasions in Kiara’s life.
“‘So is this the price that you had to pay?” Her teary eyes locked with Xavier’s when she realized what Xavier had lost.
As if a cloud had burst, she felt like lightning had struck her body, s*cking her soul out. She could feel every cell of her body on
the verge of exploding.
“Kiara,” dropping his hand from his neck, Xavier quickly approached her once he noticed her distress. He wasn’t worried about
his mark disappearing. All he cared about was her current condition. She had already been terrified when she had heard Petra’s
words. Losing his mark had just exacerbated the issue.
“Look at me.”
“What is the meaning of your mark disappearing, Xavier?
Does it mean that now we are no longer mates?” She shivered while mentioning it.
“That’s impossible, Kiara,” he cupped her face, but she shook her head.
“In exchange for killing Petra’s wolf, the Moon Goddess broke our mate bond, didn’t she?” Kiara was crying uncontrollably when
she realized that in the end she had lost Xavier. Even though she had fought Petra, she had been defeated by fate. She couldn’t
envision her present or future without her mate, and now he had been stolen away from her.
“No, it is not like that,” Xavier tried to calm her down, but she was not willing to listen. The mate mark was a big deal for women
who were madly in love with their mate.
“‘Don’t lie! You just promised me that nothing awful would happen, then you lost your mark. So how can I believe you?!” She
cried, hitting his chest.
“Kiara, I swear I am not lying. Please listen to me” he grabbed both her hands that she had been using to hit his chest to make
her look into his eyes.

“Everything is fine, he cooed, but a fresh tear rolled down her cheeks.
“The Moon Goddess changed her mind and our fate. So, now we are not bound to each other? We are not mates, right? Now we
are going to be separated,” she wailed, having lost all hope. When she mentioned their separation, Xavier frowned.
“What the hell are you talking about, Kiara?!” He growled as he clutched her soft cheeks tightly, seeing her words were nothing
more than provoking him.
“Just because that f*g mark has disappeared from my neck, you are saying that we are not mates? You are already thinking
about leaving me?!” He asked, then slid his palm down to her neck where her mark was.
“We are soulmates. We are only made for each other.
Our love cannot be proven by a mark on my neck. We are not going to separate ever! I will f*g kill you if you even think about
leaving me alone in this lifetime!” He declared, displaying all of his emotions in his words and eyes. He refused to allow her to
look away from him.
The words that he spoke to her, did not even allow her to blink. The longer she looked deep into his forest green eyes she found
herself lost to him again. Even though the mark had disappeared, she still felt the sparks rushing through her veins that warmed
her heart. It made her feel alive and showed her exactly what Xavier was trying to tell her. Only the mark had disappeared but
their bond was secure! Dean and Venus were still one. They were still soul mates.
Xavier let go of his tightened grip on her cheeks, brushed and slipped his fingers over her l!ps.
“You are mine, Kiara. Only mine!” He whispered, showing his possessive side that was even dangerous to himself. He looked
like he would destroy himself and the world the day he no longer found her beside him. Kiara gave him a small nod even though
tears escaped her eyes at seeing his possessiveness, obsession, and love for her. She could happily die now, without remorse
after hearing his words.
“l am sorry” Kiara apologized while standing on her tiptoes to place a soft kis*s on her mate’s l!ps. She needed to bring Xavier
back to his normal mental state. She could not see him insecure over a departure that she never intended to do.
“l will never leave you, Xavier,” she vowed gently, breaking the ki*ss. His gaze softened once again. He had never felt anything
like the physical contact he was experiencing right now. A thick layer of sparks adhered to every sensitive spot on his body,
making his entire body become heated.

The Aipha refused to close his eyes as he felt his heartbeat race so quickly that he lost control of his emotions and crushed his
l!ps on Kiara’s. When he put his hand around her waist, the space between them vanished in an instant. She smiled as she
followed his l!ps and k!ssed him back.
She had spent her entire life believing that mating and marking were everything. She had the misconception that it was the sole
bridge of a relationship and the pull that used to draw them together. But Xavier had just shown her the true meaning of love.
Pure and unquestionable, accepting each other the way they were.
Kiara broke the kis*s and smiled at her mate. Xavier smiled back, finding her even more beautiful than before.
The cry of a newborn pup resonated throughout the packhouse, assuring everyone that Jennifer and her baby girl were safe.
Beta Kaiden had dashed back to the pack house as soon as the fight was over to see his mate and newborn.
During the fight, everyone had received a mind-link from Doctors that Jennifer and the pup were both safe. This had given
everyone a positive boost. They needed to overcome their advisories as quickly as possible so they could welcome the newest
member of their family.
All the ranking wolves except for the Beta couple that had been in the clearing had witnessed everything and were now smiling
at the happy Alpha couple.
The whole pack was filled with warmth and love. Luna Martha leaned her head on Alpha Sawyer’s shoulder, they kept holding
each other’s hand while they admired the happy lives their daughters had found. Zander had allowed Adira to stand on her feet
as they hugged each other to see that everything was fine.
“It seems that we have gotten our happy ending, Xavier,” Kiara remarked as she looked at the Moon shining over their heads.
Yes, but not before you mark me as yours again, Kiara,” Xavier grinned. Kiara’s eyes shone in happiness and excitement. How
could she forget that she could mark him again! She watched as her mate grinned from ear to ear. So did that mean that he had
intentionally not telling her this fact earlier?! Kiara decided to play a little with her Alpha as well.
“I thought I was just a surrogate,” Kiara raised her brows.
But Xavier’s big hands pulled her closer to him so he could taste her l!ps again. She smiled and wrapped her arms around his
neck while kis*sing him back.

In the next second he m*aned, feeling his woman’s teeth digging deeper into his neck once again. The feeling of being marked
once again, brought Xavier back to life. He could not control himself and marked Kiara again.
“My woman is no longer the ‘Alpha’s surrogate..”
