Chapter 74
Chapter 74
Theo’s POV
“They really take us for a weak pack, huh?” I asked in a taunting voice while. looking towards the hybrids that were now circling at a distance from the border post. “Uhhh… well… I don’t know if they are taking as weak or something different about them tonight, but I am not having a good feeling, Theo,” Nathan said while moving his shoulders up and down, and I frowned.
“What do you mean?” I asked him in confusion. “Can’t you tell that something. is really very different about them, huh?” He asked me in an agitated tone, and I narrowed my eyes in confusion this time. He glared hard at me, but my confusion was still there.
“They look very different from the last ones, and also, something is different about their strength, and their fighting strategy. They are still maintaining their distance from us when they should have attacked by now,” he explained, and all the lines on my forehead straightened. Nathan was right. We were here for more than two hours, but they still far away from us. I had instructed all the warriors, not to leave their post and wait for them to attack first.
“Did you find anything odd about them?” I mind–linked Crystal who was monitoring them through CCTV cameras installed all around the borders. “Yup… the same thing that Nathan told you,” she answered me in a calm tone. It was already dusk. I guess these hybrids were waiting for the night to fall. “I don’t think so,” Crystal said through the mind–link. “What do you mean?” I asked her in confusion.
“I don’t think that they are waiting for the night. They are waiting for someone to show up,” she answered me in the same tone, and I huffed now. “They are waiting for Crystal to show up,” Nathan said in a hush tone this time. “Try to find their leader first,” I instructed Crystal while looking at the hybrids again.. According to our plan, Crystal should be here but she changed the plan right before I was to leave the pack to come here with Nathan.
“Their leader is hiding himself so well,” Crystal informed me, making me groan in frustration. “What’s the update on William?” I asked her in a calm tone. “Everything went as we planned. My hunch was right. The Vampire King really sent a troupe of his vampires to help Ruben today,” she answered me in an agitated tone this time. I scoffed and looked back at the hybrids once again.

“They are waiting for me to show up,” she continued and I pursed my l*ps into a thin line. This is the same thing that Nathan said earlier. “How many are they?” I asked Crystal once again. “There are fifty hybrids in the clearing, and I
guess
60 are hiding all around us,” she answered me in a calm tone once again. What about the west border post?” I asked Nathan this time.
“Alpha Adrian reported the same thing. The hybrids there are behaving in the same manner,” he answered me, and I narrowed my eyes while moving my gaze back on the hybrids. They had surrounded us from three sides. Crystal, my mother, and Luna Elena was still in the pack house, guarding the pack house where all the she–wolves and pups from the houses nearby to the pack house were now. We were surrounded by hybrids from all sides today. I was on the east side of the border while my father was on the north side, Alpha Adrian was on the west side, and Nathan’s father was on the south side. This was the first time that my whole pack was surrounded from all directions.
“How far is help now?” I asked Crystal while thinking about something. “They are already here, and are also waiting for the hybrids to make their moves,” Crystal informed me in a calm tone. She chose to stay in the pack house, not because she didn’t want to fight today, but to coordinate among us. She was in touch with everyone, and also with the help that was coming from the neighbouring packs, and also from the royal pack, and from the Blood Moon Pack. The surprise element was yet to show up.
“Are we going to watch them only?” Nathan asked me after some time. “Have some patience, Nathan,” I muttered a reply to him while trying to figure out how to deal with these hybrids tonight. It was clear to me now that they are waiting for night to fall. They wanted to take advantage of the darkness. “Ask everyone to lace themselves with adequate supply. Alpha Asher informed about seeing a troupe of vampires coming our way,” Crystal mind–linked me, making me groaned in frustration once again.
“Everyone…. Load your guns now, and make sure that you have enough supply of bullets, and bombs. The vampires are going to join us tonight,” I mind- linked everyone present around me. “Yes, alpha,” everyone answered me in unison through mind–link. “Did you inform others?” I asked Crystal before mind–linking to my father, and Nathan’s father.
“Yeah… I informed everyone. I am going to the south side of the border to uncle Joseph,” she informed me, and I immediately stiffened. “Why are your going there?” I asked her in a worried tone. “Relax, Theo. Leena is taking over

here with Luna Elena and Mom. If my hunch is right then they will attack to our weak side first, and south post is still vulnerable to them,” she answered. me through the mind–link, but I panicked.
Nathan’s father, Joseph, was a skilled fighter, but he had less number of warriors than us. “I will be there soon,” I informed her and looked at Nathan. “No, Theo…. You will not leave your post. Finish them as soon as possible and then join me there,” she instructed me in a stern tone, and I growled at her through the mind–link.
“Trust me, love… I will be okay. Do you think that Joseph will let something happens to me, huh?” she asked me in a calm tone, trying to calm me down. “They are making a move now,” Nathan whispered to me, and I immediately looked back at them. “Take care, love… and don’t show any mercy to them. I am sure that something big is going to happen tonight, but just keep in mind that we are together in everything,” Crystal said to me through mind–link once again.
