Crystal’s P.O.V. 

“Is everything ready on your end, William?” I asked William in a concerned. tone, and he nodded while smiling teasingly. “Are you doubting my fighting skills, kiddo?” he asked me in a teasing tone, and I glared hard at him. Of course, there was no doubt that he was a skilled warrior, but he was still my brother. 

He chuckled when I didn’t say a word in response. “Don’t worry, sweetheart. I will definitely win this duel without any problem,” he comforted me with an assuring smile on his l*ps, but I didn’t know why, I was still not convinced. “You have to keep this in your mind, William, that he is associated with The Vampire King for a long time and if my hunch right, he may have some d*rty tricks in his sleeves that he can use against you,” I warned him, and he rolled his eyes. 

“Don’t give me this carefree look, William. You know very well that you are worse in acting,” I scolded him this time, and he pouted. I gulped hard and looked in the other direction when I felt tears in my eyes. “What is it, Crystal? Talk to me,” he asked me in a concerned tone, and I lowered my eyes, looking at my fingers on my lap. I was in the office, having a video call with him. 

“I know that he is targeting me, and I am sure that he is waiting for us to make a move. This duel with Alpha Ruben can be dangerous for you, if they are already prepared for our this move,” I answered him in a cracked tone. “Who told you that they are after you, huh?” he asked me in angry tone, making me smile bitterly. 

I slowly looked up at him with tearful eyes. “If you all won’t tell me, do you think that I won’t find out, huh?” I asked him in a taunting tone this time. My voice was still cracked due to my emotions. His eyes widened in shock. “Crystal…, Listen to me, love… there is nothing that you need to worry about. We have everything under control, okay?” he tried to comfort me again in an anxious tone this time. 

I sniffed harder and looked in the other direction. “Don’t make me worry for you, kiddo. You know that I… I can’t stand your tears. I can face a blood–bath but not your tears,” he continued and I immediately hid my face in my hands as I started crying loudly. “Crystal…. For Goddess Sake… I am not there,” William yelled in panic but I continued crying.

“He will be alright, Crystal. Don’t forget that Alpha Nelson is backing him up there,” Luna comforted me, but I was far from being comforted. Luna believed that Nelson would never let anything happen to any of us including William, and Vincent, and I wanted to trust her animal instinct, but humans 

are weird creatures. 

“Killian and Alpha Nelson have already placed their warriors all around the Night Lotus Pack. Even Killian and Edward’s mates will be there in case if we are attacked by the hybrids. You have nothing to worry about me. Alpha Ruben can be defeated by a fifteen year pup from our pack,” he continued, trying to make me feel better. 

I stopped crying but sobbed lightly. I slowly lifted my head up, and saw his worried face. “I am also coming there, brother,” I announced and his eyes widened in horror. “No way, Crystal. You will not. Your hunch is right. They are after you, and they are waiting for you to get out of the pack. Your pack is still surrounded by so many spies from both Alpha Ruben and The Vampire King. You must stay inside the pack until we remove threats on your life,” he immediately refused while explaining the situation to me. 

“I am not a weak wolf, William, and you know this. Above all, I am not a coward. If they want me, let them come to me. With you, Vincent, Killian, Luna and Theo….. I dare anyone to even come closer to me, let alone touch me,” I replied to him in an aggressive tone. 

“You are right, kiddo, and trust me…. I have no doubt about your fighting skills, but this is not just about fighting skills or something related to this. You already know how fast these hybrids were adapting. Their life span hás increased, and also their tolerance.
