Chapter 7
Chapter 7
Theo’s P.O.V.
I will meet her in the midway. I don’t know why you are sending her on at this time when you know that she has to travel
I no man’s land in her way,” I said to William in an annoying tone when he told me that Crystal is travelling to my pack this
time.
“I also don’t have any idea, Theo, why Dad and Alpha Adrian want to send her out of the pack at this hour. Dad only told me that she shouldn’t be here for a few days,” William answered me grumpily. I took a deep breath while rubbing my temple gently. This was also beyond my thinking.
“I will inform you once I meet her,” I told him before hanging up the call.
“What happened?” my mother asked me in a worried tone. I was sitting with her in the living room of our pack house when I got a call from William.
“Crystal is coming here tonight,” I told her and she raised her brows in surprise.
“At this hour?” she asked me the same question that I asked William. It was already past nine in the night, and their pack was about six hours away from my pack. I nodded and she just stared at me while thinking about something.
“What’s going on there, mom, that they don’t want her to stay for Adam’s alpha ceremony?” I asked her while thinking about all the possible reasons,
“It doesn’t matter to us, I am going to prepare a room for her, she answered me, changing the topic, and I raised my brows.
“A room? She already has a room here,” I asked her in confusion. She sighed and looked at me helplessly.
“Her previous room is next to you, Theo. You two have grown up now. She can’t stay next to you,” she replied to me, and I jerked my head backward in confusion.
“Both rooms are connected to each other, Theo. You have to understand, she continued, and I scoffed.
“She is my baby sister, and she will not stay anywhere else, I announced in a stern voice, and she huffed helplessly.
“Nate… come to the pack house,” I mind–linked my best friend and the future beta of our pack.
“What happened?” he asked me in a concerned tone.
“Nothing serious, Nate… I have to go out of the pack for a few hours. Crystal is coming here, and I have to go to no man’s land to receive her I told him in a calm tone.
“What? At this hour?” I huffed annoyingly when he asked the same question again.
“Come now,” I said to him annoyingly, and cut off the mind link
“I am going to change clothes,” I informed my mother and then almost ran upstairs to my room. Our pack house had four floors and our floor was at the top. I was so happy, and all I wanted right now was to fly there so that I could meet her earlier. Crystal was my cousin, and you can say that she was our little princess. We two were a good team and
my whole pack also loved her so much. I was the only child of my parents and that was why Crystal was loved and pampered by us so much. She frequently visited her pack but I was away for my alpha training for two years and had come back a few days ago. Now I was eager to see my baby sister after a separation of more than two years.
I immediately ran to the bathroom after entering my room to freshen up. I decided to give her a call before leaving the pack. I was just curious to know why they sent her at this hour. She was Beta’s daughter, and she should be there for the ceremony.
“Why are you so curious about why she is coming here, huh? Let’s be happy that she will stay with us for a few days,” Thunder, my wolf, scolded me, making me roll my eyes. He was always possessive and protective of Crystal. After cleaning my face, and hands, I walked out of the room while wiping my face with a face towel. I threw the towel in the laundry basket and went straight to the closet.
I picked out a plain white t–shirt and blue jeans. The weather was neither too hot nor too cold, I was an alpha, and our endurance towards the cold was greater than that of other wolves. Our b*dy temperature always stays higher than others. After dressing up, I walked out of the room while dialling her number on my phone.
“Hey, princess,” I greeted her in a cheerful tone.
“Theo,” she chirped and I stopped in my track. My heart skipped a beat at first and then started beating furiously. What was wrong with me? I felt Thunder pacing at the back of my mind too.
“I am coming to get you and will meet you at the beginning of no man’s land from your side I informed her while descending the stairs.
“Really?” she chirped again, making me smile widely.
“Yes, princess…. I am really coming. How can I let you travel alone at this hour?” I replied to her in a loving tone. “That’s great… can you bring chocolates for me, please?” I laughed when she demanded chocolates as usual.
“Okay.. okay.. I will bring some,” I replied to her and then we both hung up. I saw Nate with my mother in the living room. “The car is ready outside. Daniel and John are going with you,” he informed me, and I jerked my head backward in confusion.
“Why do I need to take two warriors with me?” I asked him in confusion.
He looked serious, and it meant that something was wrong.
“I got information clenched immediately.
Lag
of rogues spotted outside the pack border,” he informed me in a serious tone, and my jaw
“Crystal is a newly shifted wolf, and you know how unstable our wolves are in the first few months after their first shift,” he continued and I nodded.
“She is already on her way here. I should leave now,” I said to him and he nodded. I then walked out of the pack house with him.
“What is it?” he asked me in a light tone and I knitted my brows in confusion.
“You are in a good mood,” he asked me and I looked at him from head to toe flatly.
“Of course, I am… she is coming here after almost a year, and I am going to meet her almost after two years,” I answered him and he nodded while pursing his l*ps.
“You will be surprised to see her, Theo. She has become prettier than you saw her the last time. I heard that she didn’t find her mate in her pack. I am really hoping that she finds her mate here so that she can stay here with us,” he said to me, but I stiffened when he mentioned her mate.
“Ask him to shut up,” Thunder asked me grumpily.
“Let’s meet in a few hours,” I replied to Nate, and then hopped inside the car.
John, one of the best warriors from our pack was in the driver’s seat while Daniel, the other warrior hopped on the passenger’s seat. I took a deep breath and then closed my eyes. Crystal was a beautiful and kind–hearted person, She was a cheerful, happy–going girl and above all, she was intelligent. I smiled when I remembered what my mother used to tell me about my protectiveness towards her. She told me that I cried so hard to take her to our pack when she was born. I didn’t have memories of that time, but I was sure that I had done that. I was always close to Crystal, and I was really happy that we would spend a good few days together this time as she was going to stay with us for more than a week.
I decided to give her a call after an hour. We were close to no man’s land, and it took us only an hour to reach there. I told John where to stop and got out of the car.
“What’s wrong. Thunder?” I asked Thunder when he didn’t stop pacing to and fro at the back of my mind.
“I… I don’t know, Theo… but I am feeling anxious,” he answered me in a troubled tone and I knitted my brow’s in confusion. “Are you sensing rogues here?” I asked him in an alert tone.
“No… nothing like that….. I just can’t tell what I am feeling right now,” he answered me immediately but looked troubled. My heart started racing again. I immediately dialled her number and waited for her to pick up the call. My ears perked up when I heard the faint and distant voice of the engine. She was almost here.
“We are about to reach the point where you asked me to stop for you,” she answered me in a light tone.
“I am already here, princess… and I can see your car,” I also replied in a light tone. Her car was now visible to me.
nas
“You know that I am not as weak as you think about me,” she complained, making me laugh at her. We both hung up her car was approaching. I walked slowly a little farther from my car while looking at her car with a wide smile on my l*ps. Her car stopped, and she almost jumped out of the car in excitement, making me shake my head a little while laughing at her.
“Theo,” I heard her yelling in a happy tone. I was about to take a step towards her when a strong scent of rose and jasmine hit me, making me stop in my tracks.
“Mate,” Thunder roared at the back of my mind and I froze on my spot. My eyes widened in shock and horror. I saw her stop in her tracks, and her eyes also widened in shock. What was happening? How could this be? How can she be my mate? I just stared at her in the same state while the questions started flooding my mind.
“I am not going to reject her,” Thunder roared angrily. “Shut up!” I scolded him angrily and looked in her direction. “Stop her, he roared again when I saw Crystal turning on her heels.
The next second, I was behind her. I grabbed her arm, and my whole b*dy shuddered hard as a jolt of electricity passed
through my b*dy. The sparks that ignited where I touched her were so intense that I almost felt myself explode at any
time.
“Where are you going, princess?” I asked her in a stern tone.
“…I thi think th.. that I sh.. should s.. stay an.. anywhere else f.. for some days,” she answered me in a cracked voice while looking at my chest. I stiffened when I felt that she was about to cry.
I pulled her into my embrace immediately as I felt the strong urge to comfort her.
“And why do you think this, huh?” I asked her sternly. I was angry that she wanted to go away from me. Was not worthy of her?
“Th. this can’t possible… y.. you know that this can’t be possible, she answered me and looked at me with tearful eyes. My heart bled when I saw the pain in her eyes. I didn’t answer but put her head on my chest. She immediately wrapped her hands around my torso and sniffed lightly.
“What is going on, Theo?” she asked me in a choked tone.
“I’m not sure, but we’ll find it soon, I assured her, but I was also frustrated with the turn of events. Never in my dreams, had
I thought about having this experience of finding my mate like this. How can I tell others that she is my mate when she is my sister? But I couldn’t see her so broken.
“Let’s go,” I said and she tightened her grip on me.
“Do… do you want to.. to re… reject me?” she asked me in a fearful tone, eyes completely filled with tears.
“What? Wh… what are you thinking?” I scolded her for thinking about rejection. She thought that I would reject her. She sobbed harder, and I tightened my grip on her.
“Comfort her and tell her that we are not going to reject her. The Moon Goddess makes her mates, and she doesn’t make mistakes. She is our mate, and there is no way that I am going to reject her Thunder roared angrily. I sighed, but I was with Thunder on this.
“Let’s go from here. It’s not safe to stay out here at this hour,” I insisted, and then I released her from my embrace. I missed the warmth and softness of her b*dy, but the place was not safe, especially when the rogues were roaming around us. Nate was not wrong when he said that she had become prettier than before.
“I.. I can come in my car, you know,” she said in a hesitant tone. I stopped and moved towards her. She blinked innocently. and I felt the urge to k*ss her to assure her that she didn’t need to think about rejection. I cupped her face and gently stroked her cheek with my thumb. Her beautiful emerald eyes were still with fear and tears.
