Alpha’s Rejected Second Chance Mate by Pradeep

Chapter 44

Chapter 44

Theo’s P.OV.

“This attack was not a random attack. It was pre–planned, indicating that they are keeping their eyes on us. We have to stay more vigilant than before,” I told Killian about the attack on us during our way to the Royal Pack in a serious

tone.

“They were not there to initiate the attack on us. They were stalling the time. Our attack on them took them off guard, and that was why, we managed to escape from there,” Crystal once again told us the same thing that she told me. earlier during the attack.

“What do you mean that they were not to attack, huh?” Killian asked her in a confused tone. Crystal, and Vincent were famous for their strategy formation, and analyzing the situation during an attack, or in a crucial situation. That was why I and all my warriors followed her instructions during the attack.

She took a deep breath and moved forward towards the table. We are sitting in Killian’s office right now. We reached the Royal Pack half an hour ago, and I immediately requested this time with Killian. “They have werewolves abilities, but they have no wolf inside them, Killian. They are more vampires than a werewolf now. They were in their real form, not in half–shift state,” she replied

to him in a serious tone.

Killian gasped in shock while looking at us in disbelief. She then put a pen drive on the table, making me narrow my gaze in confusion. “This is the footage from the dash cam of our car, and the first car of the warriors. You can see it by yourself,” she continued, and now it was my time to be surprised.

“We have dash cams in our cars?” I asked her in a surprised tone, and she nodded while blinking lazily. “I asked Nathan to install them before we leave the pack. I had this hunch that we might be attacked, and hence,” she answered me, trailing off in the end while taking a deep breath again.

I nodded, and looked at Killian who had already inserted the pen drive into his laptop. He was pissed, and he had every reason for that. I was no better than him. I knew that our enemy was up to something, but I didn’t expect that he would really try to come our way. The videos had voices too, and it made me take my lower l*p in between my teeth.

Chapter 44

“We need to work on a strategy to beat these creatures. If… if what Theo said is true that someone is converting kidnapped werewolves in those hybrid creatures then it meant that the danger is far bigger than we anticipated, Killian,” Crystal continued in a serious tone, and I nodded in agreement too.

Killian didn’t reply to her, as his eyes were now glued to the screen of the laptop. Crystal looked at me at the same time as I looked at her. I passed a tight smile to her, and she replied in the same manner. I put my hand on her hand on her chair’s armrest. She immediately intertwined our fingers.

She was not scared, but still I could feel a slight trembling in her b*dy. This was the first time that she faced an attack after the first attack that she witnessed three years ago. The way she led us during the attack was enough to make all of us understand how smart a leader she was.

She did everything to keep everyone safe, and also calculated a time duration within which we could easily escape. It was not like I liked the idea of running away, but we were outnumbered, and if she was right, and something bigger was approaching us, then it was a wise decision to leave that place as soon as possible.

“According to the last report, the same creatures are seen around the Night Crawl Pack too, Killian. They were also involved in the attack on the Night Howl Pack a few days ago,” I told him after a while. His facial expression changed drastically, and now I could feel the anger radiating through his aura.

“He is insane,” he said, gritting his teeth while closing the screen of his laptop. “Trust me, he is. The king needs to talk urgently with the king of the vampires, Killian. These creatures are a threat to both worlds,” Crystal said in a serious tone, and I moved my gaze to her in confusion this time.

“What do you mean? I am sure that the Vampire King knows about their existence. There is no way that someone created them without any help from vampires. Whoever has created this army needs a large amount of blood to feed them, and it’s not possible without their help. They also use synthetic blood to feed themselves as it’s not possible for them to hunt every day,” Killian replied to her, giving us vital information about the Vampire Kingdom.

“I agree that they need a large amount of blood to feed them, but I don’t think that they are using any synthetic blood. They may have lost their wolves, but they can feed themselves on meat too,” she said and now I was completely Confused. This was the first time she saw them. Then how on earth did she

have this much knowledge about those creatures?

“Are you sure?” Killian asked her while raising his brows, and she nodded. immediately. “Yes, Luna tried to assess them, and found this information,” she answered him truthfully, and I pursed my l*ps. I forgot that Luna had so many abilities, including this. She could any assess any wolves and tell about his strength and weaknesses.

“You used your ability there?” Killian asked her in disbelief, looking pissed. “Calm down, brother… This is the only ability that I used there as they couldn’t detect this. I wanted to use my elemental ability to kill them, but Luna stopped me. She sensed that something was wrong, and I just followed her instructions after that,” Crystal answered him in a calm tone, but a low growl still escaped from his throat.

“What kind of threat did she feel?” he asked her again. She sighed and put her other hand on the table from her

elbow. She rubbed her face with her palm, indicating that she was tired. “You should take some rest first. We will continue this discussion in Dad’s presence after dinner,” he said in a concerned tone this time

I am fine, brother… It’s just a long day,” she tried to shrug her tiredness off, but I could feel this too. “Killian is right, Crystal. You were on edge during the whole ride, and you need a good rest,” I also supported Killian, and she pouted while looking between us.

“I am really fine, Theo. I can have a good night’s sleep later, and that will be enough for me. However, this discussion is more important than anything else,” she replied to me in a tired tone, but I could feel her determination. I looked at Killian who also had a helpless look on his face right now. He already had this idea of how stubborn her sister could be.

Actually, we were not their targets in the first place. Luna sensed someone approaching us and asked me to leave before they reach. I am still not sure what was coming our way,” Crystal told us in a serious tone, and I looked at Killian. “I will ask Edward to call all the packs around that area and ask them if they found anything suspicious lurking around there, Killian answered her, and she nodded in agreement.

We need to intensify the training of our warriors, more than it already was and also have to ensure that they improve their skills in shooting. We can’t May calm or carefree until we find their weak points. I said this time in

serious tone, and both of them nodded this time.

At the same time, the door of the office burst open. “Crystal,” we all stood up when the king’s baffled voice reached our ears before he appeared in front of us. Crystal immediately ran towards him, and he immediately embraced her tightly.

The pain and agony that had clouded his face immediately disappeared, and he looked relieved. I heard a sniff coming from Crystal and smiled faintly. She was a strong woman yet a fragile daughter in front of her father. I guess the king got the news of the attack, and that was why he was looking so worried and pale.

“I am fine, Dad,” she said while comforting him. I looked at Killian who had a calm expression now. “You scared me to death, honey,” he whispered, and this time he was just a father, not the ruthless king that the world had portrayed him.

They stayed in the same position for a good few minutes, and none of us interrupted them. The king released her from his grip after some time and k*ssed her forehead. “I heard about the attackers. I am really shocked to hear that they surfaced again.” The king said it in a serious tone, and I raised my brows in surprise. I looked at Killian, who also had a surprised look on his face.

“Again? What do you mean, Dad?” Crystal asked him in a confused tone. The king took a deep breath and looked at us this time. “Eighteen years ago, before Crystal’s birth…. these strange creatures suddenly appeared during a rogue attack on The Night Howl Pack. They were more powerful than the warriors of those packs, and soon they managed to destroy almost the whole pack. Fortunately, they died on the spot, leaving a mess to clean behind them,” the king told us what happened back then.

Our eyes almost popped out of their sockets in shock. “They died on their own?” Crystal asked him in a shocked tone, and he nodded. “Do we have any prisoners?” the king asked while looking at me and Killian. He was still holding Crystal in his side embrace. “No, Dad…. They had to leave the place as soon as possible as Crystal sensed danger coming their way,” Killian explained, and he looked at her in surprise.

How far was that?” he asked her, and she bit her l*ps while thinking hard. Ubhha 1. I can’t say… Luna said that they are far enough away to escape

from that place. However, Alpha Adrian also helped us in our escape, but,” she answered him with a slight hesitation but paused in the end. “What is it, honey?” the king asked her in a low tone.

“I think someone else was also there who stopped that danger from reaching us,” she said after a short pause, and I straightened my back. She didn’t tell me about this. I could sense any wolf in close proximity, but I didn’t sense anything dangerous. “You mean to say that someone with good intentions reached there and stopped whoever was coming your way?” the king asked in a low tone, but I felt nervousness in his tone.

“Did you feel that?” Killian asked me in whispers while leaning towards my ear, and I nodded in agreement. The king was nervous. It meant that he knew who could be that person. “I….. I can’t say about his intentions towards us, but he did help us,” Crystal answered him with some hesitation. “She is just eighteen and is trying hard to control her powers. We shouldn’t stress her more,” Killian suddenly said to the king in a calm tone.

King immediately glared at Killian but I agreed with Killian on this matter. “I am tired, Dad,” suddenly Crystal said in a tired tone and leaned on his shoulder while having a tired expression on her face. “O yeah… yeah… you. should rest now The journey was already tiring and you fought in the middle of your way,” the king replied to her in a worried tone again. “Thanks, Dad… I am going to freshen up now.” She smiled from ear to ear and then. looked at me.

I signaled her to go first. She then nodded to Killian and walked out of the room. “She is a warrior, Killian, and it doesn’t matter what her age is,” the king said to Killian in a stern tone after Crystal closed the door. “Still she is my baby sister, and I have every right to worry about her,” Killian answered him stubbornly, and I took a deep breath while looking at father–son duo. “What do you think, Theo?” suddenly the king asked me, and I looked at Killian.

You have a point, my king, but I agree with Killian. She still has so many of her own things to deal with. She is still learning about her powers and her full potential. These kinds of battles can hurt her,” I explained my opinion, and he shrank his nose in displeasure. “It doesn’t matter if he is happy or not with our answer. She is our mate, and we have to make sure about her safety, and her rest, Thunder said sternly at the back of my mind, and I felt a headache coming my way.
