Chapter 42
Chapter 42
Theo’s P.O.V.
“The border patrol spotted two rogue vampires last night near the west post. They alerted everyone, and I stayed there all night, keeping my eyes on them. They were sitting at the top of a branch of a tree in the first tree line there. I am sure that they had some motive behind showing themselves to us,” Nathan. gave me the report about the rogue vampires. He was serious and I could see that he had something in his mind.
“What is it, Nathan?” I asked him in a calm but serious tone. He took a deep breath, and drummed his fingers on the edge of the table while looking at a spot in front of him blankly.
“Don’t you think that it was far from a coincidence that they showed
themselves at the time when you and Crystal are about to leave the pack in a few days, huh?” He asked me in a serious tone, and looked at me at the end.
To be honest, I had the same hunch. I took a deep breath, and put my hand at the edge of the table while looking at the file with the report in front of me blankly.
“We have to stay alert all the time, Theo. Our enemies are as smart as we are, and we can’t let them win this time,” he continued in a serious tone, and I bit my lower l*p while thinking about something else.
“What’s the report about vampire activities near The Night Crawl Pack?” I asked him, and he nodded once. He then opened another file in the laptop as we were keeping everything related to that pack in the digital form instead of
on paper.
He moved the screen towards me, and I leaned toward
the screen as I was standing beside the table while he was sitting on the chair. “According to the last report that I received last night their activities around, and inside the pack are frequent secretively. Our spies came back this morning when they felt a threat to their lives there. I guess someone noticed their presence,” he explained to me, and I kept on reading the report.
Is he out of his mind? How can he give his pack members to them as a blood bag?” I lost my temper when I read what that pathetic excuse of an alpha was doing with his pack members. Nathan shrugged his shoulders, and I balled up

my fists at the edge of the table. All I wanted right now was to kill that alpha so that the pack members of that pack could live their lives in peace.
“Although his meeting with vampires is very secretive, our spy managed to get some information about them. The vampires are providing him something in exchange for the pack members. Also,” he explained further, but paused at the end.
He moved the laptop towards him and then opened another file. “I got information from the Night Shadow Pack, and the Moon Flower Pack this. morning that they were recently attacked by some very strange creatures,” he said while scrolling the page.
“Strange creatures?” I asked him in confusion, and he just nodded in
agreement. “Here…. see these photos,” he moved the screen towards me once. again. I narrowed my eyes in confusion when I saw some men with strange features. They were looking like werewolves, but their facial features were very similar to those of vampires.
“All the packs installed CCTV cameras all around inside the pack, and outside the pack to tighten the security, thanks to Crystal’s advice. I don’t know what made her think about these measures, but these two packs managed to survive. this attack because they used bullets made up of silver, and filled with Juniper, and Wolfsbane, again thanks to Crystal,” he told me further, and I sighed aloud this time.
During the alpha’s meeting, Crystal put her suspicions about Vampire’s attacks and requested all the alphas to keep a stock of these bullets to deal with the vampires. She told us that she had been continuously studying the pattern of their attacks for the past few years, and noticed that the vampires didn’t kill. any werewolves immediately during these attacks. They just took them away. and the packs got their dead bodies after a few days of the attack. Some packs also told me they didn’t get the dead bodies of a few pack members, taken hostage during an attack on them.
Crystal only gave suggestions that she concluded after years of study. It was the king who instructed all the alphas to keep a stock inside their packs in case of emergencies. “What is the casualty there?” I asked him while trying to figure out something. I was having a premonition that something really worse is going on out there. “For this time, none… But,” he paused, and I furrowed my brows when I saw a look of hesitance on his face.

“What is it?” I asked him in a calm tone though. “I… I don’t want to say this, Theo… But… but it… it seems th… that they are,” Nathan stuttered hard in fear while putting his assumption. “They are experimenting on all the wolves that they captured. They are building up an army of hybrids,” I finished what he wanted to say in a cold tone while looking at the photo on my screen with a cold gaze.
He gasped aloud, and I straightened my back. This was more serious than what I anticipated. “I think… I need to talk to Killian on this matter. He is our future king, and he must know what we found,” I said further, while taking my phone from the table.
At the same time when I was calling Killian, I looked towards the door, and my father and alpha Adrian entered the room. Nathan stood up and bowed in front of them in respect. “Take it easy, son. We are on vacation now,” my father joked with him, but his smile vanished immediately when he saw our serious faces.
“What happened?” Alpha Adrian asked while I waited for Killian to pick up the call. Nathan looked towards the laptop screen, and both of them walked towards us. I stepped aside so that Nathan could explain the situation to them.
“What the hell?” Alpha Adrian yelled in shock, but I didn’t pay attention to them as Killian picked up the call. “Did you leave the pack?” he asked me in a light tone as soon as he picked up the call. “No, Killian… This is not about our trip. This is about the wolves who have been missing all these years after the rogues‘ attacks on various packs,” I answered him in a calm tone.
“I also got some information, but I still want you to explain to me the situation. there,” he replied to me in a calm tone. I took a deep breath before briefing. him on the report that I had gotten. “The images are not so clear, but they give a vague idea of what kind of creatures they are. We still don’t know what they eat, or how animalistic their behaviour is. One thing that I am sure of is that they have lost their humanity completely, and for them, everything except their own kind is nothing but food,” I said at the end after explaining him the report.
“You mean to say that someone is experimenting on the kidnapped- werewolves with vampire serum?” he asked me, and I shook my head, but realized that he couldn’t see me. “This might be a possibility, but I think that it’s related to their bite too,” I replied to him.

There was silence on the other end for a few seconds. I looked at Nathan and others and sighed when I saw how infuriated and shocked both Alpha Adrian and my father were. “I guess you already have this hunch that they are going to attack you when you will be on your way here, right?” he asked me, making me take a deep breath. There was no doubt about this now.
“Did you tell Crystal about this?” he asked me again when I didn’t answer him. “No… not yet,” I answered him in a calm tone. “Good…. Keep this from her for and let’s think about how to deal with the situation we have on our hands. Both you and Crystal need to come here, and above all, you can’t let them think that you are scared,” he said, and I scoffed.
ΠΟΥ,
“Who said that I am scared, huh? Or even any of my warriors are scared, huh? We may not have any idea about the capability of our enemy, but we are strong enough not only to protect ourselves but our loved ones too,” I replied to him in a bitter but confident tone. “Then we will go according to our plan,” he said and I took a deep breath again. “I am also sending a troupe of royal warriors who will follow you secretly. Let’s hope that they don’t attack, but if they do… Finish them all without showing any mercy,” he instructed me in a calm tone, but I could sense how pissed he was right now.
“Okay…. I will meet you in the next three days, then,” I said to him before we hung up the phone. I moved towards others and saw them looking at me with worried looks. “Are you still thinking about going out of the pack?” my father asked me in a worried tone, and I tilted my head while looking straight into his eyes with a calm gaze.
“You think that I should stay here like a coward, then?” I asked with a scoff, and his expression immediately changed into an annoying one. “Of course not. You are an alpha. How can you be a coward?” he replied to me, and the corner of my l*ps twitched. “We are going to the royal pack as we planned earlier. The only change is that we will take more warriors with us, and a few of them will follow us secretly and then come back after we reach there safely,” I told them about my plan, and he nodded.
“I will lead the second group,” suddenly Alpha Adrian said in a calm tone, and I raised my brows in confusion. “The warriors need a leader, and I happen to be free these days,” he said further with a wicked smile on his l*ps, and a small smile crept on my l*ps. He was a strong warrior and a great leader. “It’s settled then. Dad,” I looked back at my father, and he looked at me questioningly.
