‘You don’t need to stress herself so much, love. I am still not that old to take retirement,” Mom whined again, making me look at her with a small smile. “I am really fine, Mom, and who said that you are old, huh? I am merely doing any work for this pack. All I am doing is my pending work from the previous pack,” I answered her, but her frown deepened. 

“William and Vincent should have started looking for his mate now. How can you do this much work on your own, huh?” she said further, and I really felt touched by her worries. “I agree with you, Mom. They are going to a mating ball this year. I just wish that they get their mates very soon so that I can hand the work to their mates,” I replied to her in a tired tone. 

“Let’s wrap for today. You need to rest too,” she said while taking my laptop. from me. I sighed but didn’t protest. To be honest, I was also feeling tired and wanted to sleep now. “You go to your room, and have a nap. I will call you for dinner later,” she instructed me while shutting off my laptop. It had been almost ten days after we finished the alpha’s meeting in our pack.

I walked out of the office with Mom. She was still lecturing me about how I was careless about my health, and that I shouldn’t do so much work. I was taking care of the accounts of this pack, but she was still doing all Luna’s work on my behalf. 

“You have to start your Luna training soon, love,” she said in a concerned tone, and I nodded while pursing my l*ps. “I know, Mom and I promise that I will start it soon. There is no one better than you and Luna Elena to teach me. I must take advantage of her presence here,” I answered her, and she grinned this time.

“You have to ask him and Killian about the progress of the search.” Luna asked me after some time in a concerned tone. “I know… I thought about giving Killian a call after dinner tonight.” I told her while trying not to fall asleep. “You should really have a nap,” she said, and I just hummed in response. 

I didn’t know for how long I slept, but I was woken up by Theo late in the night. “Hey…. Wake up…. It’s time for dinner.” I heard him asking me to wake up in a gentle tone. “I don’t want to.” I murmured while fl*pping to the other side. “What’s wrong? “Yeah… I am not feeling well,” I answered him truthfully while trying to open my eyes. I felt as if I was burning up right now. Suddenly a low growl erupted. from his throat, making me look at him in confusion. Did I say something wrong? 

I felt cramps in my stomach that made me curl up while clutching my stomach. “Damn it,” he cursed, and immediately ran towards the door. “Theo,” I yelled in pain when I realized that he was going out. “Don’t move…. I am coming back,” he ordered me in a hurried tone, and then locked the door from outside, leaving me in a baffled state. What was going on?
