Alpha’s Rejected Second Chance Mate by Pradeep

Chapter 28

Chapter 28

Theo’s POV

“Congratulations on finding your mate, Theo. I am really happy for you,” the king. congratulated me in a cheerful tone. I smiled and bowed in front of him to show my respect for him. Crystal bowed with me. I was holding her hand and could. feel how nervous she was right now.

“You don’t need to bow in front of me, Theo. You are also like a son to me,” the king said further, making us lift our heads up. “Thanks for your love for me, my king. I am truly honoured,” I answered him in a respectful tone.

He smiled and then looked at Crystal. He had a calm face, and I was really amazed to see how perfectly he concealed his emotions. Crystal was his daughter, whom he never knew. Still, he was concealing all his emotions when all he wanted was to come to her and hug her. Killian showed us his mother’s picture, and there was no doubt that Crystal looked like her mother. How difficult it is for him to stay away from his child.

“After your ceremony, I invited both of you to come and stay with me in the palace for a few days,” he said while looking at Crystal with a small smile on his l*ps. I looked at Crystal, who was trying hard to stay calm, but I could feel a little tremble in her b*dy. “I…. I…. am honoured, my…. My king,” she answered him, this time in a cracked tone.

He nodded once and then looked back at our parents. “You raised them well, guys. I can say that they will be a great couple and will lead the pack in a prosperous way,” he said to our parents while praising us. I knew that this comment was directed to Uncle Warrick and Aunt Martha for raising Crystal.

“It’s time to meet other alphas, my king,” Killian said this time in a calm tone. The king nodded and glanced at Crystal one more time before leaving us in the living room of the pack house. My parents with Crystal’s parents left with him. Crystal immediately collapsed, making me startled, but I held her tightly in my embrace. “Take me to the room,” she whispered, and I immediately scooted her b*dy into my embrace in bridal style. She wrapped her hands around my n*eck and hid her face in the crook of my n*eck. She was trying hard, not to cry, and I knew what was coming my way now. In no time, I was in my room. She burst out as soon as I closed the door.

I didn’t stop her, and let her cry while walking towards the bed. I had to be there with the rest of them, but she needed me here right now. I took her to the bed, and gently put her down. She didn’t lift her head up and continued crying on my shoulder. I hugged her tightly in my embrace, giving her the comfort that she really needed right now.

I want to kill that man fo.. for putting us in so much pain. Theo. I, I could th the love an and the longing in his eyes. I. I could see his fear in his

eyes…. All my family…. All my family is a victim here… th… that b****d destroyed my family,” she continued wailing, and I just kept stroking her back.

She was a cheerful personality who didn’t like to conceal her emotions. She showed what she really felt and right now, she had to put on an act just because we didn’t know who was behind her mother’s kidnapping and didn’t want him to know about Crystal’s existence if he was not present here. Both of them were so similar to each other that I was having a doubt now about that person recognizing Crystal.

“I… I will kill that b****d,” she continued and I took a deep breath. “We will find him, Crystal…. We will soon find him. Your mother is still in his captivation, and there is no way that we will leave her there, not now when we knew what’s her relationship with you,” I said to her in a determined tone. She immediately lifted her head up and looked at me. I could see pain, anger, hatred, and resolution in her eyes.

“Yes… Yes… we will find her…. I… I was not sure earlier if I should try to find her or not, but after seeing my father…. I must find her… they both are suffering, and it should end now,” she said to me in a cracked tone while taking hiccups. I slowly wiped her face with my hand.

“Yes, my love….. Let’s talk to Killian before the ceremony about the progress,” I said to her and she nodded.

“Now… go and freshen up… We are the host, and we should be there with

everyone,” I instructed her in a gentle tone. She immediately put her head back on my shoulder while tightening her grip on me.

“Give a few more minutes, please,” she whispered. I wrapped my hands around. her waist once again, tightening my grip on her b*dy.

“Sure…. Take your time, love,” I answered her immediately. She stopped crying but was taking hiccups. I continued stroking her head to comfort her. We stayed in the same position for a while.

“Where are you two, Theo?” my father mind-linked after some time. I closed my eyes as I didn’t want her to find that someone mind-linked me while kept on stroking her back to comfort her.

“We are in my room, Dad…. Crystal collapsed,” I answered him truthfully. “I understand,” he said after some time. I smiled at his answer. My parents were very understanding and I was glad that they never forced me to follow what they wanted, and the same thing they were doing for Crystal.

“Give her the time to gather herself and come back when she feels better,” he instructed me in a calm tone. “Thanks, Dad,” I thanked him in a low, and sincere

tone.

At the same time, Crystal lifted her head up. “We need to go back,” she said in a low tone, making me raise my brows. “Someone mind-linked you?” I asked her, and she nodded.

“Mom… she said that everyone is asking about us,” she told me. “We will go back but you need to calm down first,” I replied to her in a gentle tone.

She smiled weakly, and slowly removed her hands from my n*eck. “Give me five more minutes,” she said and I nodded. I slowly lifted her up from the bed and put her down on the floor. She then walked towards the bathroom.

I sat down at the edge of the bed and closed my eyes. “I am glad that they are coping well.” Thunder said while taking a breath of relief.

“What do you mean?” I asked him in confusion. “Luna… She is also overwhelmed, and cried at the same time as Crystal was crying,” he told me and I balled up my fists tightly.

“Crystal is right. We need to find their mother as soon as possible if we want them to live peacefully, and happily. After meeting their father, their agony has increased,” he said in a serious tone. I completely agreed with him because I could also feel the same.

“Let’s talk with others about our ceremony. We have almost all the alphas here except a few. I think we can try to know their opinion about finding the queen,” I said while thinking about the same thing.

“It will be a great idea. We can keep a close eyes on their reactions, and then we will know who is in our favour from the bottom of their hearts, and who is only showing on the surface,” he chirped and I clicked my tongue.

He was right. Not all the alphas were on friendly terms with the Royal Pack. It could be a possibility that a few of them would be helping the kidnapper. This was a great chance to find out who is a friend and who is a foe.

I looked in the direction of the bathroom, coming out of my thoughts, when I heard the opening of the door. Crystal came out. I stood up and passed a small smile to her. “Ready?” I asked her, and she nodded with a small smile on her l*ps. She was now calm, and it was a big relief for me
