Adam’s P.O.V. (Continued) 

I felt suffocating and unable to breathe. There was something very strange about this place. The plea th… that I heard earlier captivated me. Her voice was faint and painful, but I felt her pain deep inside my heart. 

“Crystal….. Crystal,” I screamed once again. I needed to find Crystal and that girl. I could feel Crystal’s presence around me but it wasn’t getting on my nerves that I couldn’t find her. I was now running here and there aimlessly, in panic. “Adam?” 

I stopped in my tracks when I heard Crystal’s voice. I immediately snapped my head in that direction and narrowed my eyes. That presence was also in the same direction. “I am coming to you….. Stay where you are… Don’t run away,” I yelled back, answering her and cracking my n*eck once again. 

Finally, I found her. I felt an oppressive force on me, but I smirked at his futile attempt. He was nothing but an illusion when I was real. He was not as strong as I was, and I knew that I could easily defeat her. I ran in Crystal’s direction. 

I smiled in relief when I found her standing in the middle of the abyss while looking all around frantically. “Crystal.” I whispered in relief, and she looked at me. I stormed towards her, and before she could utter a word. I embraced her tightly. My heart was still at unease, but I was now relieved that I found her. 

“You made worried to all of us, dumb girl… What are you doing here?” I scolded her in a low tone and took a deep breath to inhale her familiar scent. I frowned when I realized that I couldn’t smell here. It was her dream, not reality. 

“He… help me, Adam….. She is in severe pain… I… I need to save her… I need to… to…. but I don’t know where to find her,” Crystal said in a desperate tone, but she choked in the end. “Hey… hey… calm down… calm down first,” I comforted her while holding her tightly. 

She didn’t resist me and put her hands on my waist. I knew that I couldn’t be this reckless in the reality. For some unknown reason, I wanted to stay here with her, but I knew that I couldn’t. “He will kill her, Adam… he will kill her,” she whispered once again in a choked tone. 

“Nothing will happen to her, princess. We will save her… But at first… you have to wake up…. This is not reality… this is just a dream… An illusion, but she is real,” I replied to her in a calm voice. She pushed me away from her immediately.

I gave her the time to process what I told her. “B…. but… it… it felt so real… her voice. felt so real,” she said in a daze after some time. “Yeah… yeah… I know… I heard her,” I immediately answered her to comfort her. 

“You…. You also heard her…. You know th.. that this…. this is not my illusion, right?” she asked me in a hopeful and low voice. I nodded in agreement immediately. “Yeah…. I know that her voice is not an illusion but a cry for help. I… I know th… that this girl is in pain and she is scared… don’t worry… we will find her but we need to get out from here first. There is something that is draining my energy and this is Theo who is channelling his energy to me. Before he loses, we should leave,” I told her what was exactly happening right now. 

“B… but I can’t leave her here… I… I need to find her,” Crystal protested immediately, making me sigh in defeat. She was always this stubborn. I was about to say something to her when I snapped my head in the other direction. I grimaced and raised my hand in the blank space immediately. 

“Aahhhh,” he screamed in pain but I tightened my grip on his n*eck. Crystal’s grip on my waist tightened too. She was scared…. I could feel that she was scared to the core. “Who are you? Show yourself,” I commanded him in a cold tone.

I scoffed and increased the pressure on his throat. “Show yourself, mutt,” I commanded him once again through my teeth. Soon, his face became visible to us. “Wh… who is he? I.. I thought it.. it is Marcus,” Crystal asked me in a trembling voice. 

He laughed manically but whimpered in pain when I tightened my grip on his n*eck more. “I know that you are not real… but what will happen to your b*dy in the real world if I kill you here?” I said to him in a threatening voice. His expression immediately changed into a fearful one. It was clear that none of us knew him but that was not a problem to us right now.

made my smirk go wide. There was only a face in front of us as his whole b*dy was not visible.

My b*dy trembled when I heard the same voice once again. “Adam,” Crystal yelled in panic but I looked around frantically. “I will leave But will you be able to save her, huh?” the face taunted me in a stiff voice. I looked at him coldly and kept on tightening my grip on his n*eck. I had the power to kill him here and I was now more willing to do so. 

“We need to save her, Adam…. We need to save her,” Crystal pleaded to me while shaking me lightly. “Yeah… you need to save her…. But this dream will end with me… she is very important to you…. you will lose her if I end this dream…. Now tell me, Crystal… do you want to end this dream,” the face asked us in a menacing 

voice. 

My heart once again started beating furiously. I felt that I needed to find her. She was now familiar to me but she was important for my existence. “You think that you can threaten me, huh? If you don’t want to die here….. end this dream,” I roared at him and he started gagging immediately as I was now willing to kill him. 

The whole place started trembling badly, making us lose our footing but I regained. my footing once again. “We have to leave, Adam…. Leave him,” Crystal said to me in a panicked tone. “Who is she?” I asked that face, ignoring Crystal this time. He laughed while gagging and struggling to breathe. He was a hybrid that I could say. He was not a vampire by birth, but strong enough to use so many vampires” 

abilities.

We heard her calling for help once again in the same faint and painful tone. I felt a stir inside me once again. “Let’s go, Adam….. Kill him or leave him….. We have to go,” Crystal said to me while shaking me badly this time. The whole place was about to collapse at any time. “You can’t kill me… you… you want to know who is she….. You can’t kill me,” the face mocked me and started laughing again. 

“Leave us,” Crystal roared at this time, and the next second, she punched that face so hard that he fell from my grip while screaming in pain. “Let’s go,” Crystal said while pulling me to the other side. I nodded, released her from my embrace, and took her hand. We started running in the other direction without paying attention to that face.

I immediately looked around, trying to find the direction of that voice. I couldn’t go out of this place without knowing about her whereabouts. I just couldn’t. 

“Adam…… what are you doing? This is about to collapse and we will die here if we don’t go out…. run,” Crystal yelled at me and tried to pull me with her. “No….” I immediately yelled in panic and tried to remove my hand from his grip. 

“Adam,” she yelled at me and I looked at her with a painful gaze. She was angry and worried but her expression changed immediately. “I… I…. can’t leave her, Crystal…. I… just can’t… she….. she is my mate….. Crystal…. she is my mate,’ I said to Crystal in a desperate and choked tone.

She suddenly cupped my face with her other hand and made me look into her eyes. “Okay.. Okay.. let…. let’s try to find her one more time…. close your eyes and concentrate on that voice…. I…. I can’t use any of my ability here but you can as you are virtually here…. try to go to her through her voice,” she said to me, and a ray of hope emerged in my heart. 

“Okay,” I said to her and I immediately closed my eyes. I tried to concentrate on all the voices around us. I felt oppressive as if someone was still trying to stop me. Something was really off here.. 

I put more effort once again, and tried to break this oppression. “Hurry, Adam….. we need to leave,” I heard Crystal yelling at me. If she wanted to leave, she could at any time, but she was still with me. I tried to use her energy but I found that she was just a human here. Something was off about this dream and about this situation. 

Suddenly, I saw a very blurry image of a face at a quite distance from me. I tried to concentrate on that face. My heart skipped a beat immediately and Neo roared in anticipation. “That’s it…. she is our mate…. go… go get her… don’t let her go away, Neo roared once again in panic.
