Alpha's love

Chapter Preparing and Training

The next few days went by in a blur for Aria. Cain was very serious with her training, so much so that she had to have Eva run the pack training schedules just so she would have time to eat and get a few hours of sleep. Marcus protested that Cain was running her to hard and even threatened to kidnap her just so she could rest for a day but Aria had assured him she was fine. In all truth, she felt like hell but she had to many wolves depending on her for her to take some time to rest. She could rest when she got a good handle on her powers, until then the 18 hour training schedule Cain had setup was necessary.

dCain had woken her up extra early today because they had to run in wolf form to the nearest cliff where Cain had told her that they would be training that day. Milean snarled at the thought of traveling even further from their mate but Aria just rolled her eyes and reminded her that they were training so that their mate could live. After that, Milean had retreated off into Aria's mind until it was time for them to shift and run to the cliff. Cain ended up driving a car to the place and timing Aria on how fast she could make it there.

"If I make it there before you you'll be doing this run over and over again for the 6 hours you have off, GOT IT?!" He bellowed before flooring the gas pedal and speeding out of the driveway leaving a cloud of dust in his path. Aria said a silent prayer that Milean was fast as hell before she willed herself to shift and took off through the woods, following the directions that Cain had given her.

When she arrived at the edge of the rocky cliff that was surrounded by rolling hills of grass and a large lake Cain was nowhere to be seen. Cain somehow knew what he was doing while he trained her, despite not having any powers himself other than major strength. He had lately been teaching Aria control, and how to target specific enemies on the battlefield which would come in handy so that Aria didn't end up torching everyone she loved when they fought the rouges.

Shifting back into human form and slipping on the large t shirt and shorts she had carried in her mouth she closed her eyes and focused on the white hot energy she needed to command the energy. The familiar buzz of it hummed through her body and she smiled welcoming it. Letting it flood into her she gathered it into her fingertips letting it pool up until it was all focused there and then she pushed out with all her might, commanding the energy to shoot out from her hands. At her command the energy that had built up in her fingers shot out in white bolts, crackling as they shot through the air in front of her. Their power shot Aria off her feet and she skidded through the rough grass on her butt for several feet before coming to a stop. She heard a laugh and looked up to see Marcus and Cain leaning against the doors of a black SUV staring at her. Marcus gave her a grin as he jogged over to help her up, giving her a hug. "Good morning, Love." He murmured into her ear and she couldn't help but giggle. Marcus and her had yet to complete the mate bond but they had continued to grow closer, all thoughts of the 'betrayal' merely laughed at now.

"Come on Aria, you need to practice now. Marcus is here to be a distraction and I can see that it is already working. As the main weapon in this war that is going to happen you need to be alert at all times. One distraction could result in the deaths of many of our own people." Marcus let out a little growl but allowed Aria to peel herself away from his arms as she walked over to the cliffside where Cain was standing.

"Cain, you don't have to remind me of my duties. I am quite aware that one mess up could kill several of my people as well as other packs." Aria couldn't help but be a bit snippy after hearing Cain's words. He had been getting on her nerves quite a lot lately, acting as if he was the most important one around camp. Having two alphas in the same proximity was not a good thing most of the time, especially if they spent a lot of time together but because Aria and Marcus were mates it was different. While their main problem wasn't their alpha demeanors it was their stubbornness that caused most of their problems, Cain had been acting as if he were an alpha. Bossing around Aria seemed to be his newest hobby and Aria couldn't help but remind him that she was an alpha and he was not.

Cain however, brushed off her comment with a smirk. "If the moon goddess thought you could handle this on your own, she wouldn't have sent me. Now, Aria I want you to summon a thunderstorm. Go." He turned to look at Aria expectantly and she gave him a glare before turning and closing her eyes. That was her first mistake. She felt Cain's scent come closer and then before she could react he shoved her. Hard. His unnatural wolf strength sent her farther than any other wolf's could have, and even though Aria was an Alpha she still fell backwards. Instead of meeting the grass as she expected she fell into thin air. She heard Marcus's loud growl and saw him reaching out to her to grab her but Cain shoved him aside causing his hand to slide away from her. Then she was falling off the side of the cliff, watching Cain's face staring down at her expectantly.
