Chapter 32
I
David's gaze darkening makes me shiver. David's weight is virtually groaning the timber.
The way David looks at me raises my pulse rate, sends shivers down my spine, and raises my body temperature. David enters the room and closes the door seconds later.
step back, my gaze fixed on my mate, wondering what he'll do next. David is now in front of me, grasping my hips and smiling.
I'm placing my arms around his neck. We kiss softly. So delicate that just kissing David makes me dizzy.
I groan as his tongue plays with mine. I'm ready to grab his shirt, but David jerks his head back, and adjusts my bathrobe.
"What-" I mumble, stunned by our brief kiss.
"No way."
"So, what? I don't get it." David leans back
"This date must be significant. No hardcore kissing due to my wolf, even though I really want to." David whispers.
David pecks my swollen lips. In the presence of Susan, I want to hold his hand and chat about everything.
My heart expands and I cry. "You drive me insane."
David laughs and gently kisses my forehead. The emotion I'm experiencing right now is unexplainable.
I ultimately picked a black dress with a plunging neckline. I picked this attire after seeing David grabbing a black tie and a white button-up from his wardrobe.
So we're dressing up.
David approaches from behind, and I gaze at myself and David. In black pants, formal shoes, a white button-up, and a sleek black tie, he looks dashing!
"Are you ready?" David asks, adjusting his tie in the mirror behind me.
"I am." As I look into his blue eyes.
David smirks.
Then David unlocks the front door for me. I suppose we're strolling, but David puts his hand on my lower back and takes me to the parked SUV outside.
David swiftly opens the SUV's passenger door for me, and I smile as I enter. Once David is inside, I find myself changing the thermostat to turn on the heat. My body shakes and my teeth clatter as the temperature decreases. "Tell me," I exhale, positioning my bare hands in front of the vent. "Whither?"
When the air progressively warms, I sigh.
"You'll find out soon enough."
Not knowing where I'm heading annoys me and drives me to focus on the unknown.
David rides a back road through the pack's woodland.
The back road terminates at an ancient double-lane road, so the trip is quick. When I turn around in my seat, the entry to our pack is hidden by pine trees and shrubs.
We talk for a few minutes as David drives down the road.
"We'll take a private jet to Havia for a romantic weekend." "No," David laughs,.
I squint. His SUV is parked on the roadside, and he exits facing me.
"Susan. I guarantee we will have a good time."
My eyes soften and I nod. "OK." On his way to my side of the car, David swung open his door and slammed it. He knocks and extends his hand. When I go outdoors, a wind gust smacks my face. I hear David shut the door. The eatery in front of us shouts convenience. Couples and families talk, dine, and drink within the windows. Nearing the restaurant's entrance, I am grabbed.
A large guy opens the door, greeting David and me in a foreign accent. "Hello, Alpha and Luna, your table is already set." As we go by, he bows slightly.
I carefully approach David's warm body for comfort.
In the restaurant's corner, hidden from prying eyes, I let David take me to a table. Before I take off my coat and hang it on the wall beside me, I rest on the comfy booth's cushions. David comes up and gives me a menu. David opens his menu. I follow his example and look at selections.
It's hard to choose a favorite.
"It's all extremely nice. What should I get?"
David breathes with joy. "Wanting you to sample my favorite meal, I avoided being bossy. You may choose the wine."
"No problem."
"Are you ready, Alpha, Luna?" We are given wrapped utensils by the waiter.
Echo, our server, helped us order the wine and our food. I turned to David, smiling, as Echo left with our wine and meal order written down.
"He's pleasant. This dude seems kind." I add.
"Yes, he is. Echo is one of my pack's top trackers."
My brows rise. "Tracker?
"Tracker. A person who assists the Alpha on his quests. No matter what, Echo's family has always been there for me."
A big slice of warm bread is scooped up by David, who then smears it with butter and hands it to me. I kindly accept his gift and eat.
