Chapter 20
"You could get away with wearing a shirt."I replied, ultimately raising my eyes to his. He knows I'm simply looking,
"No, I'm not going to do that."
"You grasp the sheets the whole night."
His skin gets slapped by my foot. I'm aware it was a hard kick, but David doesn't seem to have flinched. "My bed," I explained. David's brows wrinkle in concentration as he speaks. David, on the other hand, interrupts me.
I go back to my sobbing. If I spend too much time thinking about it, I start to feel the same anguish. David is correct. Everything came crashing down on me during the mating rite. When arguing didn't work any longer, I had a panic attack and wept my heart out for many minutes.
I consider what it is that would cause me to cry. Perhaps the new wolf world's confusion, the couple's blood, or the fact that they have suddenly become a mate? It's all there, but David is by far the biggest one. Something is missing, and seeing the mating process confirmed that I was in desperate need of it.
I know very little about him and would want to learn more about him.
"Yeah," I said in response. "I apologize for making you watch that."
David sighs and reaches out to grasp my face. I scream at his delicate thumb caressing over the bridge of my nose.
"Susan, you'll never have to feel sorry for yourself.
I could feel your feelings, but I couldn't intervene during the ceremony. After that, I had to follow you around to make sure you were okay. And seeing you weeping broke my heart even more."
David moves closer to my face, which causes my pupils to dilate. His lips are pressing against mine. A wonderful kiss that may be able to eliminate any concerns. Someone comes to my door twice, just as his blue eyes are about to shut.
I scream and gasp, and I move away from David in fear. David gives me a long, piercing stare before turning around and growling at the man on the other side of the door, which I find hilarious. I summon Allison into the room after clearing my throat and pulling the waist-length blanket up to my chin.
When Alison sees David on my bed, she bursts into a rash of blushes. She takes a deep breath and straightens her back.
"Alpha, Luna, breakfast is ready."
"Thanks, I'll be down as soon as possible."
"Please bring our breakfast to us." David inquires.
When Alison comes to my room, she takes a few steps back and closes my bedroom door behind her, as if she is debating who she should listen to. I get up, my gray eyes piercing David's like laser beams.
"Did you think I'd want to dine with others this morning?" My voice rising in pitch.
David sighs and gets to his feet. With his back extended and his arms up in the air, he says "I love you." I fix my attention on his delectable back muscles.
"I'm getting ready to shower."

After that, he closes the bathroom door and I collapse into my cushions. "What do you believe you're supposed to be?"
I whisper to myself in my heart. he shouts, the shower running,
"I'm your mate!" he exclaims. Yes, hyper-alert wolf senses are there.
When Allison comes to the door, I am the one who opens it for her. Her breakfast tray is overflowing with delectables and drinks.
With a humble smile, I express my gratitude to her. I wake up to find Alison gone, leaving the tray on my bed.
When David waltzes into my room, a towel dropping on his bare hips, I'm just about to start eating the fruit parfait. I've become completely immobile. I toss a dollop of milk, strawberries, and barley in the direction of David and smile. He enters my closet and spills water on my hardwood floor. He then exits the closet.
I'm completely speechless. If I had the ability, I would shout at his beautiful face, telling him that he is not allowed to do that. However, he is Alpha. Just as I'm about to turn my gaze away from his well-toned back muscles, he drops the towel. I cover my eyes and drop the spoon, staining my blanket. I have a surprising amount of tone in my ass.
"David! Get dressed!"
He bursts out laughing. A genuine, deep, and strong chuckle.
I'm hoping for a smile from him. But I can't since he's thrown his towel on the floor and I don't want to be there to watch it.
Even as the ground underneath me begins to sink, I keep my eyes closed. I'm aware that he's around. I can feel the heat from his body and tingling down my arm, which I believe is linked. I take a few steps back and open my hands to greet him. I get a glimpse of David savoring a plate of steaming pancakes through the cracks.
In an attempt to growl at David, I pull my hands away from my face.
His eyes are wide open in a smile.
I pick up the spoon from my lap and set it on the breakfast tray next to the coffee maker.
I'm not in the mood for a fruit parfait right now.
Before eating the smaller pancakes, I take a glass of orange juice.
I'm not sure how Jessica found out that David had entered my room, but he's now consuming eight doughnuts.
My thoughts begin to stray. "Do you have your own room?" I screamed.
David comes to a halt in the middle of chewing, his blue eyes widening.
He takes a deep breath before answering. "It's the room just across from mine. Why are you inquiring?" He lifts his brows in concentration.
I take a mouthful of my pancake and shrug my shoulders. "I'm curious as to how many times you've been in mine."
No way in hell. That sounded purely sexual to me. It seemed to be rational at the time, but it is now considered embarrassing. I've been in almost every room of his house, except his office and bedroom. I want to see it. "It's a little sparse."
