Alpha's Human Luna

Chapter 17

"Perhaps you would be interested in joining me on my border patrol?"

He lets go of my hand and walks to the kitchen, where he places my plate and cup beside his own food to eat. Strangers from dinner are leaving the kitchen, waving goodbye or saying good night to Luna.

As I go out of the eating room, my attention is pulled to a middle-aged lady who is holding two containers. Is the lunch being prepared for her mate or for her family? Fortunately, I'm not too engrossed in my concentration to see David re- enter the dining room. My body tingles and heats even when there isn't touch or a word spoken. The simple fact of his existence.

"I've never seen them depart with food in their stomachs. Why?" I inquire, my back to David.

Across from me, his arms are crossed and his face is expressionless. I press up against the back of my seat.

"It's not difficult to guess, Susan." He ponders

We go out of the dining room in silence. In front of the front door, David hands me a thick winter coat and boots that I can wear all day.

I push my arms into the coat's armholes and double knot the laces of my boots to keep them in place. I'm two inches taller than usual, and my shoulders are almost touching his. My height is something I appreciate.

A refreshing breeze hits me as soon as David swigs open the front door. As I make my way down the porch steps, I shake. Because it hasn't snowed in many days, the temperature has been higher than usual, causing the snow to become liquid in certain areas. I cringe every time I feel a cool wind in the evening, even if it is warmer during the day.

"I was under the impression you had other's assistance?" My boots crunch in the snow as I ask.

I wrap myself in a blanket to keep warm. Following a workout at the gym, David is dressed in a light spring coat. I heave a sigh of relief. He doesn't even seem to be chilly.

"The fact that you are standing about watching the pack accomplish its mission is unfair. When I have the opportunity, I keep an eye on the border."

We're making our way to the practice grounds. When we arrive, David is still going towards the woods across the street. We walk in silence until I become tired.

"I'd want to participate in the Luna rite."

His wolf-like ears are quick to pick up on my humble admission. He comes to a complete halt and turns to face me, looking astonished.

"Not just now," I answer, but "soon."

David comes up behind me and goes for my arms. He tightens his grasp on my wrists as if I'll evaporate if he lets go. Every few seconds, he scans my face with his blazing brown eyes. "Do you want to be Luna? Luna is a beautiful creature "he asserts

Agreeing is a ludicrous proposition. I'm delighted at the moment.

My body is tingling with both excitement and anxiety. As I nod, I feel a surge of excitement. David doesn't have a smile on his face, but his blue eyes do.

It makes me want to do something just by seeing and being among the group."

"But I assure you that if you attempt to exert authority over me, I will kick you in the shins. I want a say in the decisions that are made."

Everyone is on edge four weeks after the event. First and foremost, I should welcome everyone to the party.

The wolves, to be precise. Weak, starving, and enraged. What I'm about to see is the largest breakfast, lunch, or supper I've ever seen. And I haven't received a single word of gratitude from Jessica.

I wish I could say anything, but I am unable to do so. Have I ever taken a step back and allowed events to unfold in front of me?

Jessie is chopping sandwiches into little parts in front of me while I sit on a barstool. I offered to help, but she told me to sit back and she'd take care of everything. As I enter the kitchen, I hear heavy boots rush in and the front door falls open. It's only when I turn around that I see who's in a hurry. David is in charge of a large group of men. Men who are, without a doubt, hungry. Males are quietly waiting behind me, their gaze fixed on me.

My dripping wet hair has been thrown into a messy bun.

I, on the other hand, am not so sure. In this picture, I'm wearing a white button-down shirt and white shorts that end a few inches below the bottom of my buttocks.

Jessica joins in on the giggling.

Smugly, she gives out the dish of pizzas, announcing that the night will be long and exhausting for the young men. They all stop what they're doing and rush up to Jessica, their hands trembling and their lips drooling- A young guy steals four little burgers from my hands while I sit with my knees crossed.

I'm about to scream, but David intervenes and holds me back. David snarls and takes a position between us. David's worry causes my heart to skip a beat, despite my scoffing skepticism. He tenses his shoulders as if he were a wolf defending his prey. "Luna. That you have admiration for her - "Zeus grinds his teeth.

With Jessica's sweet but not-so-sweet remark, the room became silent.

"I believe that's enough." I can imagine David's response to his own mother being seen by the other males.

I've discovered that Alphas are adamant about not being told what to do by anybody. David is clenching his teeth in irritation right now, and I can see it. I saw his blue eyes going crimson, then reverting to their original green color and staying thus.

"Yes,." His voice is hushed and resonant. David speaks once again, but this time it is not to his mother. "Training will begin again in 10 min."

Then I see David, who is looking at me and then down at my thighs. My whole body is on fire.

Weird. It's a complete disaster. I'm going to completely demolish everything.

I heaved out a sigh and dragged my tired body back to my bedroom since trainning is not something I'm interested in.

Even though I have no housekeeping abilities, my bedroom stays immaculate. Somebody must be cleaning it, and I'd feel terrible if they came inside the house at this time. Clothes from my closet are strewn on the floor of my bedroom. I have nothing to wear to this mating rite since I have nothing to wear.

What does a Luna usually wear at a mating ritual? To be more specific, a human Luna. I'm not as warm as David, so I have to dress in layers to protect myself from the chill of the night. Because this is a formal event, no jeans or hoodies are permitted. My legs would turn into popsicles if I wore a dress, and my breasts would freeze if I wore a gorgeous top.

Then I pick up a dress from the floor and hold it up in the air, pretending to be wearing it. "Worse," I murmur under my breath. After that, I shoo a few items off the bed and begin getting dressed. I get my gray tights and wool socks out of the drawer near my bed and put them on. I put my tights on and put socks on my feet. Afterward, I take the dress up and lower it by unzipping the side zipper.

As soon as I hear a knock at my bedroom door, my trousers practically come unzipped. Before I allow whoever is outside in, I take a deep breath to calm my pounding heart.

Through my bedroom door, David peeks his head in. At the sight of him staring into my bedroom, I raise my blond brow. If you're not coming in, you wait outside."

The door is opened for the first time by his gaze hardening. I see his black button-down shirt and black pants, both of which are black, as I look down his body. Hair is neatly combed into his dark tresses, and the day before, stubble had been scraped clean from his jawline and cheeks. A pair of snow boots complete his rustic getup. Suddenly, as my gaze returns to him, a broad grin spreads over my face without any obvious cause.

"Let me ask you this: What are your thoughts? When is the best time to start the mating ritual? My heart raced at the thought of it, and my thoughts begin to wander to the tasks I still have to do. Even though the mating ritual was about to begin, I had to teach you how to complete it." I can make out a long, red ribbon that he's wearing around his neck.

In full disregard of the garments piled on the floor, David strolls over to my bed and takes a seat. Cautiously, I take a seat next to him, my body temperature rising as I do so.

"You'll be facing the crowd from my left side throughout the ceremony. Before I give you the ribbon, I'll talk to the couple." The car slows down and David offers his hand to shake. I exhale loudly as his deft fingertips caress my right wrist. I get a tingling feeling all over my body whenever his fingertips contact my warm flesh. Wrap the ribbon around their wrists three times and tie a double knot in the front while they're still holding hands.

Keep an eye on me, I'm maintaining a low profile On the surface, it seems to be simple. To begin unraveling after three loops of the ribbon, he does not tie the ribbon. He wraps the lengthy ribbon around his neck with my fingers.

Yes, I'm wearing my coat and boots.

I can free myself from his hypnotic hold. "Y-yeah.."

David coughs as he stands up. he said, "It's time to go."

As I follow him down the steps to the front door, my feet contact the ground. David removes my boots and sets them down on the hardwood floor. Pulling the laces as tight as possible, I put my feet into the boots. Just a few minutes are all it takes for me to get ready for a trip.

It's a terrific outfit for you, Susan. Due of his tremendous emotions, David says this with a blank look on his face.

Nice? My hair looks fantastic when it's styled in ringlets. Do you think I'm dressed too casually? I move away from him and zip up my jacket with a sneer on my face. "Thanks." Although I'm enraged and embarrassed, I respond in an effort not to seem so.

I remove the ribbon from my pocket and put it back in. After that, Guy, who was chasing after me through the woods, and I start moving in the direction of Scar guy. Even though I haven't informed anybody, they seem to have lost interest. As I get increasingly alarmed by the gloomier woodland, my whole body twitches.

It gives me shivers just to hear the snow crunching under my bare feet. As we drive, David's voice is hushed to a whisper. It's also his harsh, deep voice that draws me in. Although it causes my body to sweat, it also makes me feel secure. How many persons attended the mating ritual? I'd want to know more. "Many." My heart is pounding furiously. I'm frightened of the bunch. "And how many people are there in total?"" My second query is shrugged-offs. At the very least, thirty, and maybe even fifty. David estimates that there are "maybe a thousand" of them.

"Shit." I take a deep breath and let out a sigh of contentment.

My teeth are gnawing at my lower lip. When anything goes wrong, what happens? As a result, the pack will not accept me as Luna if that occurs. No of how many times Jessica has shown herself capable of doing it, I just cannot let them down. David's joy is contagious, and I can't help but look up to join him. "It'll be OK. I'm here to help you, Susan. David's grasp on my shoulders intensifies. When he returns to the bush, there are many people and flickering fires around him in a tiny clearing.

I follow David as he makes his way to Neme and Hunter.

Neme is smiling as she stands close to me.

In front of me, everyone is gazing right, which makes my heart stop. She's apprehensive as she approaches us in a transparent white garment. Her long, black hair, styled in a chic bun, fully hides her clothes. There is a palpable sense of enjoyment in the room. She's an absolute stunner.

As she stands in front of David, I see that she has flowers and leaves in her hair. As of now, I'm on the search for any shade or two lighter than her actual skin tone. Note. It slipped my mind totally! Behind her, he's radiating the same radiance as she does.

A black-pants-clad dude. It's on the inside of his shoulder blade and extends down his back to the point that he can't see his own skin. The pain he's been going through has broken my heart.
