Chapter 13
In response, I nod but don't say anything further since I can see the waitress bringing the food to me. I'm at a loss for words. It seems better to scream in anguish than to try to fathom all that has happened. "How are you doing today, Luna?" Karen is bewildered by the situation.
"Karen, are you expecting a child?" With a nod of my head, I inquire. Karen sighs and takes a few steps back. She sobs, her palm resting on her stomach, as she realizes what has happened. Karen sighs and shakes her head in dissatisfaction.
"My friend and I have been attempting this for years. We've been trying for a child for over two decades, but thus far nothing has worked. It's hard to realize that I'm expecting a child." Karen is depressed and gloomy.
I don't communicate with her. I just nod as I walk out of the abandoned café. My journey back to the mansion is exhausting and confusing.
I discreetly take my snow-covered boots off my feet. Neme comes up to me and starts joking around about Ryder's forthcoming date, but I awkwardly avoid eye contact and ignore her.
I made my way up the stairwell to my room. Neme follows me to the bed and takes up a position on the edge as soon as I get into bed. When I look at her, her blue eyes are glazing away, as if she isn't even there. What exactly is going on? Sob. I suppose it has something to do with Hunter.
I just had a few seconds to close my eyes before the bedroom doors slam shut behind me. I dive into my bed, searching for Neme, but only to see Davi enter the room, infuriated, and leave the room.
I roll my eyes at him, and the sensation of David's scorching stare sends chills and tingles down my spine and throughout my body.
"I'm upset," I say with a scratchy throat.
"Susan, please tell me what happened," he says calmly, which surprises me since he had just been outraged.
I take a deep breath and blink. My gray eyes catch his sky blue ones as we go down the street.
On his side, with one arm twisted and his head resting on his fist, David is writing. I sigh, wondering whether or not to reveal the truth. If I tell him the truth, it will just lead to more issues.
After that, I continued walking till I came to this shopping center. Everyone either glanced at me or didn't bother to look at me." But David doesn't say anything while clenching his jaw. "When I walked into this pub, there was this nice waitress called Aren, who helped me out. Everything seemed to evaporate as soon as I completed my glass and approached her. Then I had this 'image' of her losing her parents, which I couldn't shake. I made the mistake of asking whether her parents were in excellent health, and she responded affirmatively and then departed."
"Susan, Luna. It's just a part of who Luna is. Women's and children's protection becomes stronger as a result of our collective efforts."
I don't say anything and try to keep my gaze away from his penetrating gaze. We haven't nestled under the covers and proclaimed our eternal devotion to one another since we first met each other. "It was impossible for me to do it with him." "When we arrived home last night, I informed the whole group what I'd done. I realized that everyone would be perplexed and that this would cause problems."

My blood boils when I'm angry. I raise my eyes to face his. "You're not allowed to do that!""They're quite curious about me," I shout. I've gotten out of my comfortable bed. Smirking, I'm sitting up in my chair... "Please respond to my question. Consider the following scenario: "What would you do if two human females showed up on your territory with no prior knowledge of your kind?"
A gruff, harsh tone comes from David's mouth as he replies. 'They would have been evicted from my property,' I said.
As soon as I hear his remark, I don't feel like I've done anything. My gray eyes widen as I saw David get up and rigidly leave my room.
I'm sitting on my bed, my mind spinning. What is it about us that we are always arguing?
"It's too early, Neme," I groan, clenching my teeth and covering my eyes with my palms as I do so.
When I'm caught jumping on my bed, Neme doesn't say anything. Since I didn't get any sleep last night, I'm upset and want to go back to sleep as soon as possible. If I am unable to do this task, I need a cup of coffee immediately. "Nice and great,"
"I told you," I said. I get out of my warm bed and take off my heavy blankets.
Neme is looking at me with a satisfied expression. During my transition from the shower to the closet to choose an outfit, I can feel her heavy gaze on me. "Can you tell me why you're so happy?" I clench my teeth as soon as I put on my clothes. When I get out of bed, I go to the foot of my bed to fetch my boots.

"Oh, it's the same old thing. The fact that Hunter lay me last night was a pleasant surprise. His finger gestures, on the other hand, make me quiver."
"No! Stop causing me pain in my ears!" I scream, interrupting her so that I don't have to hear all she says.
I laugh at her foolishness, but my thoughts immediately turn to David and sexual relations with him. My mind is whirling with possibilities for where we may be.
No way, I don't believe that is the case. She pats the back of my neck with a smile.
"I've gotten you thinking about him," he adds emphatically.
I and Neme chase each other out of my room as she flees.
Even if she gave me the impression that David didn't know everything, this does not suggest that she is accurate. In a technical sense, she is.
I'll say it again, "I don't understand your actions."
