Chapter 11
I had never contemplated the possibility of adolescents finding love. I'm curious as to how they're feeling. It's not like I have a personal connection to David.
Ryan keeps his gaze fixed on Alison, although he was just talking to me. Alison tries hard not to smile at Ryan, but she just can't help herself. Despite my advanced age, I am envious of what they have. David and I are frequently at odds.
Dinner, which consisted of roasted onions, grilled steaks, and warm pastries, had just concluded. I went into my room and changed my clothes.
I sat on the large bed for a few moments, wondering about what I should do next. So I got up and walked out of my room, my muscles aching from the exertion. When I'm forced to take a step back, I'm not happy about it. I take my seat. "Oh, you,"
David takes a deep breath and then walks away from me, sighing. After that, I chase after him.
"Hey! What do you have in mind? There's nothing to do here," When I finally catch up, I make a comment.
David completely ignores me. The stairs are stomped down by him, and I have to work very hard to keep up with him. David enters the house via the front door and walks through the dining room, living room, and kitchen. While he opens the door, I clutch to his forearm. Immediately after, David turns his head to look at my hand before returning his gaze to me. While I touch him, I ignore the tingling and warmth that I feel. David's sapphire eyes begin to soften once again. I cautiously release his arm, fearing that he would turn into a wolf and leave before I can say anything. A shiver runs down my spine. There is no heat. Nuts. "I'm on my way to see a family in need,"
David answers the question.
That makes me feel better. I'd want to provide a hand. As I say, David looks at me with wonder in his eyes. His intense gaze made me quiver a little.
My cheeks are ablaze, and I August over to the shoe rack to collect my well-worn boots from the back of the closet.
David does nothing except standing there and watch me put on the boots. I finish, turn to face him, and cross my arms over my chest to signal completion.
David gives me a shrug and then moves back to fetch something before confronting me.
He hands me a coat in hushed tones. David doesn't even bother to wait for me to put my coat on.
It's much cooler outdoors than it was earlier in the afternoon. Stronger winds, colder temperatures, and snowflakes in the night sky.

In my haste to get to David's side, the snow crunches under my boots. Shivering, I placed my hands in my pockets to keep warm.
David is suited for the weather, despite the fact that it's chilly. He is a wolf after all.
David guides me to a patio area where I can take a break from the heat.
We make our way through a little wooded section. I don't say anything since I don't want to disturb David as we drive through a forest of ever-growing trees.
It's the roots and stones of trees that lead me to trip and fall. Having come dangerously close to tripping over a root, I see David has slowed his speed and taken a few steps back. There are a variety of different-sized and-shaped structures.
In the following days, I sneak inside the residences to check what the inhabitants are up to.
Some folks are having supper, some are watching television, while yet others are going to bed.
Some members of the group, however, are not as happy as the rest of the group.
The sight of parents arguing in the kitchen, siblings ignoring one another, and even males attacking women on the playground breaks my heart. "I make a squeaky sound," I grab his hand in mine to prevent him from continuing. As he comes to a full stop, his piercing blue eyes become a brilliant shade of orange.
"Susan, you are quite accurate. Later on, we'll have a conversation about this. It's all I want of you that you devote yourself to me. The remainder will be taken care of by me."
On the other hand, David does nothing except turn his head and continue walking till we arrive at the front door of a historic ranch home. When David comes to the door and knocks, I have a thrill of power and authority flow through me. The moment the door swings wide, he straightens himself and goes through the opening.
A woman with a sleeping kid comes up to us and introduces herself. Just as her gaze reaches me, she stretches and exhales more loudly than she normally would. She is taken aback and screams, "Wow!""Alpha,". "Thank you for coming in." On the other side of the door, I see that I am still clutching David's hand as the lady opens it for us to pass through. Just as I start to release go, he grabs my hand and drags me back.
Even though the mother is rushing inside the crowded home, she is still holding her sleeping infant in her arms.
"On behalf of Alpha and Luna, please accept my apologies for any inconvenience this has caused you.

"I wasn't expecting you, and I didn't have a chance to sleep in today." With a stack of baby diapers in her lap, she takes a seat on the couch. "Thank you for taking a seat. If you'd like, I can prepare you anything to drink if you like."
As soon as I see David is ready to fall down, I grab his hand and pull him back up.
"Greetings. Please keep Kara under your supervision while I go grab your beverage." As she inquires, her brows are wrinkled in concentration.
