Chapter Not what I expected
Lexi is gone. I heard her screams through our mind link but I couldn’t answer. Something was blocking me. When I got to our room Annie was unconscious on the floor and Abby was bleeding on our bed also unconscious. I shake them both awake. “Where’s Lexi!?” I ask, panicked.
“I-I don’t know!” Annie cries. “She said something about Sam? I think that’s who took her.”
“He said he’s a wolf hunter.” Abby shutters. My anger boils over and before I know it I’m storming out of the house yelling for my pack.
“ALPHA!” Maxon yells. “It’s Lexi! She mind linked me that someone was in the house.” I growl and lift him by his collar.
“I already know this! My mate is missing and I want to know where the hell she is!” The whole pack keeps quiet. “I want everyone in the woods sniffing for any scent. And someone get me Henry!” They all scurry away except for Annie, Abby, and Henry.
“We need to get my daughter back.” Henry growls.
“You don’t think I know that?!” I shout.
“Roman calm down.” Annie urges. “Yelling at everyone won’t bring her back any easier.”
“Alpha.” One of my warriors yells as he runs over. “We found Luna’s scent with someone else’s but it goes on for a long time. They already have a big head start.”
“But we’re wolves and the boy who took her isn’t.” I correct. “Get all of my warriors together as fast as you can. We run in five.”
My wolves were ready faster than I anticipated but it wasn’t a bad thing. As soon as we all shifted we ran. Annie and Addy took their places next to me and Henry behind. We all separate to make sure we’re going the right way and not picking up the wrong scents. I don’t let my wolves stop, even when the sun goes down and comes back up, we still run. Finally we end up at a small cabin. Lexi’s scent is wrapped all over it like a blanket and I praise the moon goddess that we found her. But my praises are cut short when I hear the screams of my mate. Just as I’m about to barge in, Annie holds me back. “We don’t know what’s In there Roman. You’re no good to Lexi or your child if you get hurt.”
“That human can’t hurt me.” I growl.
“He managed to knock out two wolves and take a white wolf.” Annie retorts.
“A pregnant white wolf who couldn’t defend herself.” Abby growls. I growl louder, silencing them all.
“ We all go in and together we fight this Sam kid. I’ll get Lexi while you do that.” I state.
“Yes Alpha.” They all say. The next moment we’re all charging forward.
Lexi-
The pain was extraordinary. It was blinding, and all I could think was how much I wanted it to stay. Because if it stopped my baby was here and if he was here he was taken. The little boy was still curled up at my side trying his best to keep me distracted. “I don’t have a name.” He tells me. “Daddy never gave me one. You can name me if you want.” I give him my best smile.
“How about F-Finn?” I stutter through the pain. He beams.
“I love it!” That makes me smile. There’s loud crashes from upstairs that are nearly drowned out by my screams. Suddenly the door flies off its hinges and lands across the room. What appears behind it has me in more tears than I already was.
“R-Roman?”
“Lexi!” He breathes, rushing over to me. “Are you okay?”
“T the p-pup is coming.” I gasp, doubling in over. He clutches me close.
“Annie! Abby!” He shouts. “She’s in here! The pup is coming!”
“Oh my goddess! Lexi!” Annie shouts, rushing in. I scream before I can reply. “This pup is definitely coming. Roman holds her hand and makes sure she pushes. Abby makes sure Knowone comes in. Even pack members.” Roman grabs my hand and pulls me between his legs. “Lexi, I know it hurts but this pup wants out. Let’s meet your son.”
“Take Finn away.” I croak.
“Finn?” Abby repeats. I point, with a shaky hand to Finn who had scurried away to the little corner he was in before. Without a word Abby picks Finn up and takes him away.
Hours to go by. My whole body aches but Finally, finally I hear the cries of my son. I open my eyes and see Annie staring at my crying pup. “W-what’s wrong?” I ask. Annie looks up at me and smiles.
“Nothing at all.” She hands me my pup. “You have a healthy little girl.” Shock washes over me.
“It’s a girl?” I ask, looking at my pup closer. “Oh my gosh she is!” I start sobbing.
“We have a girl.” Roman whispers.
“I told you girls run in the family.” Abby says from the doorway. I laugh then reality kicks in.
“Where’s Sam? Is everyone okay? How did you find me?”
“One thing at a time, love.”Roman laughs. “First we need to name our daughter, don’t you think?”
“But is Sam dead?” I ask.
“No.” A new voice answers. We all look and see Henry behind Abby with Sam on his knees bloody and beaten. I hold my pup closer.
“Why haven’t you killed him yet?” Roman yells.
“Because I think he deserves more than just a quick and easy death.” Henry barks back.
“Just keep him away from my daughter.” I growl.
“Scared princess?” Sam asks in a raspy voice. “You know just how scary I can be don’t you?” His taunting brings out a feral part of me.
“Get him out of here!” I snarl. “Or I’ll give him the real death he deserves.”
“Scary.” Sam smirks. He opens his mouth to say more but before he can Abby breaks his neck.
“Goddess I was getting tired of him talking.” She rolls her eyes. “So what are you going to name my niece?”
“I have no idea. We didn’t even have a name when we thought she was a boy.” I admit.
“Well get on it girl! She’s not going to be a pup forever!” Annie laughs.
“Why don’t we go home. It might be easier to pick a name when I’m not chained to the wall.” I retort.
Together we all walk out as a family and alive. Well except for Sam. Going back home had it’s challenges. My mother was worried sick so I had to tell her everything. Including the fact that she had a granddaughter. She was here so fast you would think she was on fire. Her and Henry made up and decided to become friends. I got to know him a little better but still not much. Abby and Annie both found their mates. Abby’s is the pack’s male doctor and Annie’s is, you’ll never believe this, Alpha Becket of the night fang pack. That’s right. She went on a business trip for Roman since he was taking care of me and our new pup and BOOM, Mate. I guess their relationship is taking a long time because Annie doesn’t trust him but I know the feeling of the Mate bond and I don’t think they’ll last long. But we’ll see.
Anyways Roman and I decided to name our daughter Sophia-Grace Annie Jackson but we all just call her Sophie. We also adopted Finn. He grows so much everyday and he’s already calling me mommy and Roman Daddy. With a little research we found out that Finn’s mother was a rough that Sam captured and raped. I guess he didn’t use protection because three months later his son was born. After killing Finn’s mother he locked Finn away. Sometimes Finn wakes in the middle of the night saying he saw his mother and she called him Lucky. When we asked him if he wanted us to call him, he said no because he knows he’s lucky, he has us. My life couldn’t feel more complete. My whole family is together and together we will stay.
