Alpha's Fated Slave Mate

Chapter 55 Going to the Rescue

"Sure, what do you want to talk about?" I asked looking at her.

"The rouge has attacked before we can move, and more cities will fall next. It won't be long before it's the palace, the king is being held hostage, and we can't keep fighting anymore." Joslin said to me. "I know, but the rouge won't leave us alone either, and if Sotto does become king, all hell will break loose." I replied.

"You stay here, I'll be able to protect you and it won't be that easy for them to find us. We can only find a chance to contact the other groups before we have a chance to unite and fight back." Joslin said. There was nothing else we could do now.

Misius took his family and men back to his homeland to hide from the rouge, and the other packs also went into hiding.

Six months later, the rouge were close to the palace.

They spent a lot of time stalling on the search for Adri and me.

And I was due to have a baby in a month or so.

My belly had grown so big that staying at Joslin's club, Adri would be there for me every day, making my life as happy as possible.

He would also look at my belly in surprise when the baby kicked me.

Joslin brought me a lot of baby stuff, as usual.

I was dressed in heavy clothes, it was already cold outside, and Christmas was still a week away.

"We received the news that the rouge will attack both the royal palace and Navia City on Christmas Eve, and after both places fall, Sotto will replace the king and become the new king, and I can't imagine what that will be like." Joslin said helplessly to Adri and me.

"I have contacted part of the community, but there is still a part that has not been contacted. We are not strong enough to rescue the king, or even to determine if he is still alive." Adri replied, lost in thought.

"I have constantly sent people to look for other packs, hoping for news. We have to save the king, or it's all over." Joslin said with some difficulty.

She knew very well that this was the time I needed Adri by my side the most.

"I'll be fine in a month or so, Sotto won't wait that long. I'll wait for you guys to come back and be able to take care of myself." I replied with a smile.

Adri looked at me and even though he knew I needed him, at this time, he had to make a choice.

"We'll be back as soon as we can, and I'll be there for you and our children." Adri assured me, and then gave me a soft kiss on my forehead.

I watched them leave, saddened, but I couldn't stop it.

During this time, I learned from Burdie that the rouge had not only killed many werewolves after entering the city, but even civilians had not escaped being killed by them as werewolves.

Most of the resources were in the hands of the rouge, and most of those civilians who were killed were because they rebelled against the rouge.

There were also werewolves who were killed on their way to escape, and everything couldn't have been worse.

Christmas Eve soon came, I looked through the window in the distance, and my heart was very restless.

Perhaps because of the emotional tension, the baby in my belly felt it too and kept moving until I forced myself to calm down.

On Christmas night, I lay in bed for a long time before falling asleep.

My body seemed to become very light, and I flew toward the sky. A strong light shone in my eyes and by the time I could see again, a man was floating far away towards me. I recognized him, it was Adri.

"Kasha, it's so good to see you again." He said to me with a smile.

"When will you be back?" I asked, taking his hand.

"I'm sorry Kasha, I might not be able to come back, but I love you so much, always." Adri said stroking my head.

"What are you talking about? I believe you can come back, always have." I gripped his hand tightly, but his hand was becoming transparent.

"Kasha, it's my greatest luck to have met you." Adri said, and his body flew off into the distance.

I woke up with a start, my clothes already drenched with sweat.

"Kasha, are you okay?" The maid beside Joslin walked in and asked with concern.

"I'm fine." I said to her as I calmed myself down.

Only then did the maid turn around and walk out.

Although both the maid and I had gotten used to calling me by my first name directly during the past six months, they were more concerned about me.

Adri and Joslin also did not know when they would return, and everything I saw in the dream world still came to my mind.

In the morning, I asked Burdie for news of Joslin and Adri, and Burdie just shook his head at me.

Joslin and Adri would send messages back regularly, except in very urgent cases.

After Carlton recovered from his injuries, he would go to a nearby city every day to buy some living supplies as well as ingredients and return, and he looked more like a down-and-out vagabond in his costume. So Rouge wouldn't notice him either.

In the club building, he is not as joking as before, just sitting alone in his room drinking, occasionally sitting on the balcony to dwell. He was still grieving over the death of Mede, who, he once told me, had been his best friend and a wonderful town master.

Carlton always thought they had a long time to stay together and talk, he could even laugh at the way Mede's teeth fell out, but never thought Mede would be killed by the rouge. The loss of his only best friend, Carlton's whole person seems a bit dull, no matter what the people around him are doing and saying, he is still silent at best.

A week later, Burdie came to me while I was eating breakfast with a smile on his face.

"Kasha, Joslin and Adri have sent word back that they are continuing the mission and reaching out to more of the pack, it will probably take a while before they return. On Christmas Eve, they had repelled the rouge to a place outside of Navia City." Burdie said to me.

"That's good news indeed, Burdie, thank you." My heart, which had been tense all week, finally relaxed and I reached up to gently rub my stomach.

Adri would surely be able to come back and be with me for the birth of my baby.

A month later, Adri and Joslin had not yet returned, and I was already in labor.

At night, it was raining heavily in the sky, accompanied by the sound of thunder.

My stomach was also in constant sharp pain. Lying in bed, I was still waiting, hoping that in the next second, Adri would appear in front of me.

The pain was getting stronger and stronger as the maids gathered around me, Joslin having long since arranged for a doctor to be at the club. The sharp pain that my body felt like it was being torn by a fierce beast made me shudder.
