Chapter 42 Lord Kasha City
"I do want to know why." I replied frankly.
"Mede has told me a lot about you, about Puro City, and I already know about it, that's why I called you here." Tibbs said to me.
"Mr. Mede?" That took me by surprise.
"Once he recommended your father Kanas to me as the lord of Puro City, but Kanas refused. So after you saved Puro City from the crisis, I think you would be a very suitable candidate for city lord." Tibbs said to me. "Me? To be the lord of the city? No, I can't be city lord." I was taken aback, and I didn't know how to run a city.
It would be a mess for me.
"I'm sure you can. The Earldom that was given to your father was not given to him either because of his refusal, so I would like you to take it for him, and you can take it as a souvenir."
Tibbs said, as the man beside him placed an exquisite box in front of me.
I opened the box and inside was a golden medal.
"Is this my father's?" I asked, looking at Tibbs.
"Kanas' service to the whole country I remember well, but he refused any kind of reward, and knighthood. But during the last crisis in Puro City, Kanas left his own territory in order to protect Puro City."
"He could have left Puro City alone, but he chose to lend a helping hand anyway. And because of him, Puro City was able to wait for reinforcements, but his own people were attacked by the rouge in retaliation. I did all of this just hoping to make up for a little bit of regret." Tibbs said.
I lowered my head, so back then my father left the clan, not because of Tina, but because of the crisis in Puro City?
"You should learn more about your father's past, not just Puro City, multiple cities have been helped by him, and everyone remembers him. But because he didn't want to, there are also many people who don't know that he was once a great hero." Tibbs said, his eyes shining as well.
"But he died, killed by the rouge to protect me." I replied, lost in thought.
"Mede has told me, and I can only express my regret for his death. Making you lord of the city is the best thing to do now, I know you are a werewolf like Kanas." Tibbs lowered his voice and said to me.
I froze at once.
Although everyone knew that werewolves existed, not many people had actually seen them.
The cities that rouge had attacked had faded into oblivion for everyone as time passed.
There is also a part of the werewolves hidden among humans, constantly erasing the traces of werewolf existence.
Because werewolves also attack normal humans after transforming, a line has been drawn between humans and werewolves.
When humans face werewolves, there is anger and hatred in addition to fear.
"The power of the rouge is rapidly expanding, but the line between normal humans and werewolves is getting wider and wider. That's why I want you to become the lord of Puro City, and that's the will Mede conveyed for the civilians of Puro City, who are willing to embrace you."
"After you become the lord of the city, Mede and the rest of the pack will also come to you because you are Kanas' daughter. Only in this way can the conflict between humans and werewolves be eased a little. rouge will attack the cities at any time, we can't go on like this, do you understand?" Tibbs said seriously.
"Okay, I know what to do, thank you." I bowed to Tibbs again.
"Very well, I want you to head to Puro City as soon as possible, it's been fucked up by the previous bastards and Mede will be there to assist you. Until you are able to govern Puro City on your own, Mede will make an announcement in my name." Tibbs said, and the maid next to me brought a laurel crown.
I knelt down and Tibbs put the laurel on my head and also handed me the medallion symbolizing the status of Puro City's lord.
"Congratulations, Lord Kasha." Tibbs said to me with a smile, signaling that I could get up.
For the dinner, Tibbs invited several ministers as well as some noblewomen, and when they learned that I had become the new city lord of Puro City, they showed expressions of surprise. Then it turned to sarcasm.
I subconsciously avoided their gaze, but I couldn't leave early for such a banquet.
I could only sit on the chair and wait for the party to hurry up and end, and the skirt on my body was strangling me to the point of madness, the feeling was too unbearable.
The party finally ended, I dragged the heavy skirt back to the room, the whole body has no strength.
After the maid helped me to take off my dress, I felt like I was alive again.
Once I thought that life in the palace was the happiest, but now I realized that behind the happiness was the same pain.
Lying in bed, I soon fell asleep.
In the morning, the maid woke me up.
I could leave the palace and I changed into a casual outfit, wearing such clothes that would make me feel comfortable.
Before heading to Puro City, I needed to pick up Melia from Adri.
I could live with her in Puro City, and after that, probably wouldn't return to Adri's villa.
After arriving at Adri's villa, I did not enter the villa, but sat in the helicopter, waiting for Melia.
Adri came out with her and stood next to the helicopter looking at me.
He wanted to talk to me, but the helicopter was so loud that Adri didn't say a word in the end.
When Melia saw me, she held out her little hand and looked at me and smiled.
I carried her to the helicopter and gave Adri a look, then turned my head to look the other way.
I still couldn't forgive him for trying to get me to miscarry.
Maybe he was like Misius and thought I didn't deserve him. Whatever the reason, between him and me, there was no longer a future.
I should also forget what he had said to me as soon as possible.
The helicopter took Melia and I to Puro City, where Mede and Carlton were already waiting for me, with many civilians behind them. The moment I stepped out of the helicopter, they were cheering. "Lord Kasha." Mede said with a smile that narrowed his eyes as he walked up to me.
"Kanas would be proud of you." Carlton walked over as well.
"So the next time is for you guys to fill me in on governing the city?" I asked as I looked at the two men and Mede and Carlton laughed out loud.
Entering Puro City, I realized it couldn't get any worse.
I got into Mede's car with Carlton in the passenger seat and me in the back seat.
The houses in the city became more and more dilapidated the closer we got to the outskirts, and some had even collapsed in parts.
Outside the gates of the hospital, many people were sitting on the ground with nothing but helplessness and despair on their faces.
But the center of the city was very busy, making it seem like it was a completely different world.
