Alpha Code

Chapter Chapter Twenty

[Solon’s POV]

After Telani was taken away

I was in a fit of rage. How could she have done such a thing!! Telani was supposed to be a damn trained Shadow and follow her FUCKING orders!!!! I was more that pissed off.

Telani had always had an obsession with Kin and I had put her into intensive training hoping it would get her mind off of something that was dangerous for a Shadow. Blind Love. It turned to obsession and then to bad decisions and that was what had happened with Telani. Now I was not only down a Warrior but I was going to have to send her back to the Shadow Council.

I knew they were going to order her death after a trial. She had lost her Honor for attacking the Future King. She didn’t know that just yet but to even attack another’s Mate for your own purposes was not something a Shadow did.

Our Honor Code did not allow for anything like this. Being bound to something like that was not something to be taken lightly and Telani was about to face a very harsh punishment.

I had sent her back with two others and my guards had quickly returned with a letter requesting another set of guards return to watch her. I replied by sending another pair back and keeping the rest of my squad with me.

I was going to need them all with me for the coming battle I could feel in the air but I had to do as I was told or I would be stripped of my rank as well.

‘Callum, Solon, can the two of you please come to the sitting room right now. I do not want to explain this more than once. I have had enough of this shit from Ironclaw.’ came Kin's voice in my head.

I sighed and Shadow-stepped into his room. His Beta, Callum, was not as fast as I was but he was not even seven steps behind me as I entered the sitting room where Kin was.

I found myself getting told about Ra'ne and the things I had already found out. I sat patiently through the whole thing understanding that Kin's parents had no clue what they were about to face. Kin had paused and then looked at me, he was letting me gather myself for my part in this.

"I called Solon when I found Ra'ne. I was worried someone else would come for my little ember so I called for the Shadows that had become my family and they answered my call for help." Kin said as he looked back to me.

"I searched our records of every pack including Ironclaw. There had been many flaws in their paperwork. Too much money and too many uncounted for pups. They had killed whole packs and taken their pups to build up their own Rouge Pack. After all those years they went after the Sentinels and took out the Royal family. Ra'ne is Grissa's prize from that." I explained in short handed words. Not knowing how much Kin wanted to really tell his parents and Beta about what was really going on.

The three of them were silent as they thought about my words. They were slowly getting the meaning behind them. Ra'ne was the lost Heir to the Were Kingdom and it was going to be through this little ember-eyed Wolf that our world would be saved.

[Kin' POV]

I wanted to growl at Solon, but I knew he was only trying to do what he thought was the right thing. I didn't want to tell everyone too much either and I really thought it would be best if they didn't know everything.

Ra'ne knew who and what he was. Skie had explained it to him after Julius and Skie had a long discussion. My Wolf had known about it all because of Solon. I had wanted to explain it to Ra'ne myself but Julius had explained that it might be best if Skie explained it.

"Ra'ne is the lost Sentinel?!" my father shouted jumping to his feet.

I actually chuckled at his reaction, Ra'ne smiling a little. "Yes dad. Ra'ne was taken as a small pup from his parents when Grissa's Pack of Rouges attacked them. When Solon dug deep enough he found out that Ra'ne's parents had been the King and Queen." I said getting a shocked gasp from my mother. She had once been friends with the Royal Court and their deaths had been hard on her. She used to tell me stories about them all the time before it just got to be too much.

"How do you know all of this for sure?" mom asked as she leaned forward to rest her arms on her knees.

Solon smiled at her kindly, "My dear Luna, when a Shadow looks for something we find everything there is to find." he said a little smugly. "Because of the small bit of information Kin was able to give me I was able not only get blood samples from Ironclaw's Packhouse but I was able to rummage through all of their paperwork. I did all of this myself, of course, so when things started to not really add up I took the papers I needed and went in search of more information. I obviously found what I was looking for." he explained when my mother glared at him.

I never knew what her problem with the Shadows were but she hated them with a passion.

"Ra'ne, dear, do you remember anything at all?" mom asked him quietly, using her soft spoken mom voice.

Ra'ne shook his head and buried his face in my chest. He didn't want to talk about this anymore. I could feel it in his very bones. Unfortunately I needed to make sure he was safe. Him and our pup.

"Ra'ne had a vision of Grissa coming for him, some time during the warm months. However, I want the Warriors on double shifts until that Rouge is dead. He may be in his Pack's safety now but I believe in my Mate and he will not be for much longer. I believe things have been set into motion for Grissa to be turned fully Rouge." I said seriously, getting a little squeak from Ra'ne.

"Then what are we going to do about it?" Callum asked, finally speaking for the first time since I called him here.

"We keep everyone safe. Its one of the reasons I called Solon. He owed me a favor and I called it in." I said getting Sol to grumble at the reminder.

Callum chuckled and looked at me, "I want to know all about that at a later time. For now, I think it is a good idea for us all to get some sleep." he said his eyes flashing from me to Ra'ne and back.

I could sense my little ember fading into unconsciousness and knew he was about to pass out from exhaustion. "I agree. We can all continue this tomorrow." I said standing and gently scooping Ra'ne into my arms. "Good night." I said before leaving in a flash. I didn't care to wait for a reply from anyone.

I wanted my Mate and pup comfortable and I needed them both safe.
